She will need to have the doctor look in her mouth for another $100 plus. So the cleaning will be over $550.00. We had used this office before with great results, and found out today the office was sold since December and have now policies. Ww will not be using the services here or returning. So it took literally more than a year to figure out why the insurance company wasn't paying, hours of my time... By then it was so long that the insurance company wouldn't pay, and they still won't just call the insurance company and straighten this out, spending much more time calling me. They also have another instrument called a diagnodent which is a laser that they put on your tooth to determine tooth decay that might not show up on the x-ray. I did not like the fact that they have to set up a consultation visit before the actual cleaning that took about 4 hours out of my day and seemed like a way to get extra money out of me. Alright now why the 2-star review, well I understand that the economy is bad but they tried to tell me I needed 4 fillings and I had NO cavities! Because there might be the chance that I can get a filling in this spot because it is starting to show signs of tooth decay....needless to say I will be getting a second opinion.

Everything looked clean, and the design of the place was warm and not intimidating. Emily Plumadore, the friendly hygienist, explained calmly what was going to happen. The taking of X-rays went fast (additionally, the equipment used was new and definitely seemed the latest). The cleaning was painless, with Emily regularly checking in on me to see that everything was OK. Dr. Maria Szmigiel, a warm and friendly professional, introduced herself. We talked about things just to get to know each other. What really stood out to me was that Dr. Szmigiel asked Emily, the hygienist, for her findings, thereby showing that she trusted Emily's professional input. Following her examination, Dr. Szmigiel patiently shared her findings with me, outlining potential treatment options. I never felt that I was "pushed" to accept an expensive treatment, something I have experienced often with dentists. I felt that Dr. Szmigiel accepted and respected my "conservative" approach to treatment. Nevertheless, I place my trust in her when necessary. Upon check-out, I observed that the clinic's administrative system, including finances, demonstrated a focus on supporting the patient, not just the clinic. All in all: a very positive experience...and this for "going-to-the-DENTIST"!

You are in for a story and please read till the end.....especially if you need a root canal!…read more Let me say that I have had 3 dental meltdowns and thought I was headed for the dreaded root canal! All three times, something intervened to save me from what I thought was the worst dental experience you could ever have any time. Then....it happened. I was in the chair with Dr.Abby Gaughan who had just examined my tooth, and I could no longer have a different outcome. It was root canal time, and it was just my luck that she could do it right then! I was caught off guard for sure. I wanted to run out and say, Later but why worry about it and stress. All that extra anxiety? No way. So I stayed and prepared for hell in my mouth! Well I cannot tell you how totally different my experience was from what I thought and what others had told me. The doctor was funny, smart and explained the process to ease my concerns. She said it would not hurt, but who would believe that. Her assisting tech was a blast, with a great sense of humor. I can't believe I was in the chair....the Dental chair, mouth jacked open, and laughing with these super professional and super funny ladies. I was not in pain. Outside of the injection at the beginning, I felt nothing. When it was over, I still was not in pain. Two weeks later, yup, no pain. I could not believe it. I know it sounds crazy, but it was not horrible. I was not in pain and for sure, I was not traumatized by having a root canal. Please, if you find yourself in need of the scary sounding term.....root canal, do yourself a kind favor and see Dr. Abby Gaughan. The office is currently Covid prepared, safe and staff are very kind. They all are warm, share a smile and want you to have a very positive experience. No one loves going to the dental office.
