She will need to have the doctor look in her mouth for another $100 plus. So the cleaning will be over $550.00. We had used this office before with great results, and found out today the office was sold since December and have now policies. Ww will not be using the services here or returning. If they had called the insurance company this could have been fixed instantly. But they have a strict policy of never ever calling insurance companies. So it took literally more than a year to figure out why the insurance company wasn't paying, hours of my time... By then it was so long that the insurance company wouldn't pay, and they still won't just call the insurance company and straighten this out, spending much more time calling me. I had to go somewhere else because of this bill.

I then called to reschedule when feeling better and was told I could not schedule my procedures because Dr. Hines considered my illness a no show. Very disappointed on the lack of empathy and rudeness of the associate when I was explaining as she was not the associate who handled the call. Very disappointed in the Dr who allows his patients to suffer and basically punish someone for being sick. When I said I would have to go elsewhere for care as I am in pain, his associate stated "okay, good". So professional, so caring. Just disappointing.

Everything looked clean, and the design of the place was warm and not intimidating. Emily Plumadore, the friendly hygienist, explained calmly what was going to happen. The taking of X-rays went fast (additionally, the equipment used was new and definitely seemed the latest). The cleaning was painless, with Emily regularly checking in on me to see that everything was OK. Dr. Maria Szmigiel, a warm and friendly professional, introduced herself. We talked about things just to get to know each other. What really stood out to me was that Dr. Szmigiel asked Emily, the hygienist, for her findings, thereby showing that she trusted Emily's professional input. Following her examination, Dr. Szmigiel patiently shared her findings with me, outlining potential treatment options. I never felt that I was "pushed" to accept an expensive treatment, something I have experienced often with dentists. I felt that Dr. Szmigiel accepted and respected my "conservative" approach to treatment. Nevertheless, I place my trust in her when necessary. Upon check-out, I observed that the clinic's administrative system, including finances, demonstrated a focus on supporting the patient, not just the clinic. All in all: a very positive experience...and this for "going-to-the-DENTIST"!

Each time I have had an appointment a different dentist has done the exam. The last one was not credentialed with my insurance company, causing my claim to not be reimbursed.

Our experience with North Country Pediatric Dentistry has been extremely frustrating,…read moreunprofessional, disorganized, and has directly affected my son's treatment timeline. In March 2025, we met with the orthodontist and were told my son needed all four incisors removed and spacers placed. When I later called to schedule his initial extraction appointment, the office could not locate the orthodontic order. We scheduled anyway, but when we arrived for the appointment, the dentist again could not find the orthodontic order, which resulted in the procedure being rescheduled. At that point, I asked why a new order could not be requested from the orthodontist and was informed that the orthodontist we had originally seen was no longer with the practice. I then requested a consultation with the new orthodontist to clarify the treatment plan and was told a consult was not necessary. At his June 24th extraction appointment, the dentist removed only one tooth and stated the others did not need to come out. At that time, his spacers still had not arrived, and each time I inquired I was told that "the lab was still making them." At his August 27th cleaning, a different dentist informed us that the remaining incisors did need to be removed and advised scheduling another extraction. Again, I requested an orthodontic consultation and was told it was not needed. After further confusion and another cancelled appointment, we were eventually told that we did need to meet with the new orthodontist, which finally occurred on December 12th. At that visit, we were again told the same plan: the remaining incisors needed to be removed, spacers placed, and a palate expander would be required. The Plattsburgh office manager acknowledged that there had been staffing issues and stated that some employees had not been properly performing their responsibilities and therefore been fired (extremely unprofessional conversation to be has with a patient's parent). She assured me she would personally follow up with the lab to ensure my son's spacers were ordered and tracked. My son was then scheduled for December 28th to have the remaining three incisors extracted. I specifically asked whether we should wait until the spacers arrived before proceeding, and I was told they would be ready within 1-2 weeks after the extractions, so it would be fine to move forward. Weeks passed with no updates, and multiple phone calls were not returned. On January 30th, I was finally able to speak with the manager from the Malone location, who was assisting in the Plattsburgh office that day and was professional and very helpful. She investigated the situation and discovered that the spacers had never been ordered at all, despite previous assurances. She immediately spoke with the Plattsburgh office manager, who stated she would have the dentist place a rush order on Tuesday when he was in. When I followed up again, I was informed that nothing had yet been done and that this was the first the Plattsburgh office manager had heard of the issue. During that call, she raised her voice, spoke to me in an unprofessional manner, and stated she had no control over the dentist or the lab. I have also personally witnessed her speaking unprofessionally to other parents over the phone while sitting in the waiting room with my child. In addition to the treatment delays and communication failures, this office has previously sent me another patient's full name and appointment time, which raises serious HIPAA privacy concerns. The repeated miscommunication, lack of follow-through, inconsistent treatment decisions, and unprofessional interactions have made what should have been a straightforward pediatric dental process unnecessarily stressful and prolonged. I strongly encourage parents to carefully consider their options before scheduling care here.

Never again.
