It really helped me and my anxiety knowing that Ariana is becoming a neonatal RN soon and I felt so good experimenting and taking risks while she was there to step in if needed. She was so patient each lesson waiting for my daughter to get comfortable in the water and with her being there, bought special pool toys and learned which ones my daughter took to the quickest and used those to get her comfortable within minutes of beginning each lesson. She left each lesson giving me tips and what to work on in between lessons and I loved being given that direction! she also was always on time, communicative and understanding and flexible of cancellations due to weather. I hope she is still teaching next summer so I can have her out for my daughter again and my baby boy that's due in a couple weeks, and wish we could continue this summer with more but I won't be able to swim for a bit after having this one. The transition was seamless and my learning experience, which was stellar under Simple, has continued to be equally as good under District, probably because Gerardo has been my teacher the entire time. He's energetic, friendly, patient and very receptive to feedback, which is important in a small class setting where people may have different learning styles and preferences. He also takes the time to point out when certain phrases/words are used more commonly in Spain vs. Latin America. Classes are held in a WeWork space. If you're not familiar with it, a bunch of different companies rent out glass paneled office spaces on the same floor. There's a lounge/kitchen in the lobby area that's accessible to all, which is nice because they always have free coffee and tea, along with plenty of space to hang out and study or eat.

PMTI's handling of its Graduate Clinic and recent graduate support is both unethical and…read moremisleading. In a mass email to clients, PMTI claimed the recent termination of all unlicensed Graduate Clinic practitioners was due to "new guidance" from the Maryland Board of Massage Therapy Examiners. This is misleading. Here's what actually happened: PMTI allowed unlicensed graduates to provide paid massage without legal authority. PMTI now admits this was "never acceptable." Yet for years, graduates provided massage services to paying clients under the false belief that this model was supervised and lawful. In my time at the Graduate Clinic, I was never supervised or mentored, despite the school's claims. The "new interpretation" excuse is false. The Maryland Board didn't create new law--they reminded PMTI of the existing one. This only came to light because graduates began asking whether their clinic hours could be used toward updated licensing requirements. PMTI responded by abruptly cutting everyone off. There was no transition support. Graduates were removed from the schedule with zero notice, no documentation of hours, no referrals, and no plan. For some of us, this was our only income source while finishing licensure. PMTI continues to promote unethical employers. The school shares job listings from businesses that misclassify therapists, require unpaid "auditions," and withhold compensation for training time--without warning students of their rights or labor protections. PMTI's public response is a PR move--not a solution. This isn't just a breakdown in communication. It's an abuse of trust, a failure of duty, and a betrayal of the very students the school claims to support. -- Student Oversight Collective

First of all, the classes are challenging and engaging. The instructors do a great job pushing you just the right amount, so as you learn one thing, there is a new technique to improve. If you're like me and get bored at a regular gym, classes at N-Flux are great because you are building up to something and there is more to think about (although I'll admit my brain gets pretty slow by the end of an intense class, so I can't say *much* thinking happens at that point...). The second thing that makes me excited to get out as much as I can is that the community is incredible -- supportive, kind, funny, diverse, interesting. You definitely don't feel inadequate as someone new and inexperienced: more experienced students are always willing and eager to help out. The instructors work hard to cultivate an environment that is welcoming and supportive. So here I am, probably in the best shape of my life after just a few months, and it felt so easy! But more importantly, this place is a community. N-Flux has the best instructors and classes you will find anywhere in DC if you're interested in taking Krav Maga, Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, and all sorts of other martial arts and combat sports. Chris and Colleen are the best instructors I've ever seen. They don't just want you to get skills, they teach concepts, conditioning, and character. Part of the training is how to be a good classmate, and experienced students help newer students and welcome new people. As a result, you're not just coming for a workout, you walk away welcomed and encouraged to be the best you can be -in everything. The classes are challenging in the best way, even their Yoga classes (and I hated yoga before I took N-Flux yoga with the amazing Scott and Maicie!). Chris and Colleen are tough and push you to be your best. Since starting, I've lost 25 pounds, gained 25 new friends, and according to my work colleagues, "am the happiest I've ever been."
