Despite the fact that their women's T-Shirts tend to be one size fits all, aka bigger frames stretch the logos, I have to say I throughly wish I owned this place. Haight street is known for style and uniqueness and TRUE can help you out. they have some awesome brands that can be hard to come across in regular shopping malls or retails stores because they aren't necessarily carried there. they have a men's store, women's store and a shoe store. a very COOL style! read more

I love their stuff, I really do but I hate that I am immediately typecasted as urban and hiphop junkie whenever I wear something from True. Also, whenever I walk in here I feel like I shouldn't be in here. Like my old navy sweatshirt was an abomination. Anyway, I am a fan of their sports shirts, especially the golden state warriors ones. After walking around haight, and passing the overpriced stussy store, I ran into TRUE. In my head i thought it was another over-priced store cause it was near by on the same street. I was mistaken ! I found many tees better than the other store, and cheaper ! I spent about $200 worth of clothing that was actually worth it. $200 included nearly 10 items. Really one of the best clothes boutiques I have ever been to. I am from so cal and when I took a trip to the bay I knew I had to make my way to TRUE. Really so cal does not have a store as cool as TRUE. The workers their some really cool people willing to help you out. Unlike other places where they just stare at you as you walk around the store. hmm. first time i came here: i loved the brands that they carry. some of which are: Lrg.true.harjuku lovers. just to name a few. had a good selection for the women. love/totally adore the t-shirts great and they have the perfect jacket up on the top rack that would go perfectly with that t-shirt. small.yet.bright and warm. prices are reasonable not bad. t-shirts would cost you at least more than $20 bucks more often $30 and over. the ONLY reason why im giving TRUE four stars is for the BAD SERVICE (sorry just had to make that larger). the guy in the counter doesn't even smile or greet you.looks and you briefly and goes back talking to the other two workers and listening to the music the have in stored for you. if you plan on getting help here, go help yourself. cause they wont come up to you. read more

For the latest in hip-hop fashion, check out True on the border of Upper Haight. Shoes, hats, t-shirts...you can find whatever you need to rock the next Jurassic 5 or Mix Master Mike concert in style. A side benefit to having easy access to the latest Triple 5 Soul gear are the mix tapes they play in the store. In fact, I'd go as far as saying that I've heard better hip-hop at True than in 90% of the so-called hip- hops spots in SF. read more

There's a mix of Upper Playground and Fabric8 type shirts, but the high prices and the standoffish staff make it a less than appealing place to shop compared to the aforementioned stores. At least the music they play makes staying in the store more bearable. It's worth a browse, and the sale rack is not to be missed. read more

i WISH a place like this existed in phoenix. i resort to either zumiez (blah) or ordering online usually. i usually visit true every time i come to the city and love finding hella cool shirts. their selection is incredible. it's a small store but you could easily spend an hour in there going through all the shirts. the women's store is next door and offers many similiar styles/logos as the mens store does. i was a bit disappointed with their shoe selection, i couldn't really find anything that stood out to me. their hat selection was off as well, as they only had like one or two sizes in each color/style. also, as people have mentioned before, the customer service kind of sucks. but i'll give them the benefit of the doubt for being down with the urban market and giving us cool threads. 3.5 read more

Decent selection of Nikes, but the crew that runs this place seems to carry a too cool for school vibe. They carry some awesome gear, but if you're in the market for sneakers, you're better off hitting NORT and HUF. They do seem to put stuff on sale a little faster, so if you slept on a pair, you might want to try here before you hit ebay. It's nice to have a third option for limited edition Nikes in SF, but I'd much rather spend my money at a place that treats me like I'm a king, rather than some haight street chump. read more

The Haight & Ashbury staple that I'll always go to when I'm in town. My fellow men who have girlfriends will undoubtedly get broken off in the wallet because the in house brand is that damn solid, not to mention you'll be leaving with your own bounty on the Men's side for sure. It's difficult not leaving with anything, that's for damn sure. The shoe store is solid too, but there's are a fair amount of stores in the area that carry the same type of stuff. You'd never no though, as even the small boutique styled storefront is staffed with two sale people-they don't even acknowledge your (buying) presence. Couldn't hang with the 'tude. this is a dope place to get fitted head to toe. As a Nike-head, i find myself purchasing kicks here all of the time. Their shirts are on point and moderately priced but their jeans are mad expensive. they have a nice selection of dunks here. too bad they dont carry SB's. you have to go to stussy for that. and too bad they always run out of my size. i was gonna give them 3 stars but their service is horrible. workers arent that friendly here. everytime i go here, they never help me or even say hello. i always have to go up to them and ask for help. one guy was just chillen in the corner and watching everyone. wasnt sure if he worked there or not...but he was talking to the other workers. but other than that, its still one of my favorite shoe stores on haight. read more

The employees seem unhelpful and almost unfriendly everytime that I've been there. Very chill environment. If the store was a bit more friendly, I'd bump my rating up to 4 stars.
