I've been to this shop several times: once for a sale they hosted on gunbroker.com, once for a private party transfer, and a 3rd time for a titanium nitride plating job on a barrel. My overall experience in all cases was a positive one. Pricing seems to be extremely competitive (only $65 for TiNi plating of a pistol barrel), and it is extremely obvious that the business cares about the satisfaction of the customers (if only this could be said about most other FFLs out there!). My main point of contact there has been Sam (friendly and professional at all times, without fail), but all the other owners/staff of the shop have been very cool guys to deal with as well. It should be noted that the shop is extremely small, and they have limited inventory (firearms and accessories) on display, but I believe they have quite a few goodies for sale in the back. They appear to specialize primarily in custom work and gunsmithing, but the firearms for sale that they do have on display are all nifty higher-end (e.g. Colt Python) and/or heavily customized pieces (e.g. Benelli M2 with cerakoting, fluted TiNi bolt, etc.). Whether you're looking to add a shade of individuality and flair to your cohetes, or are simply interested in enhancing their practical qualities, you owe it to yourself to make a trip to this shop. Brought in my Beretta 92fs in to TrueZero because the barrel has some rub mark on it. Sam recommends that we Cerakote it but it may still rub because it's just how Beretta is designed. So, we went with gun metal grey Cerakote so if may hide the future mark a bit. He also recommend we did the control and guide rod. It came out really really nice. I've come to them for sight installation on handguns, and sought knowledge for fitting a barrel to a 1911. I placed an order with True Zero Enteprises for a long range precision rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor back in March 2019. It took 11 months to get but it was worth the long wait. Dave delivered nothing but perfection. Dave took me to the range personally, along with Honey, his sidekick with four legs. Dave was even kind enough to sight the rifle in. Dave put 3 shots on bulls eye all touching, about the size of a dime at 100 yards. While I was sending rounds down range, I noticed something missing... recoil. Of coarse there was some recoil, but significantly less than expected. But it didn't end there. Dave decided to show off with his stock 9mm Smith & Wesson M&P and a B21 target at 100 yards and hitting the target in the head and center mass several times slow firing. I'm writing this review for my husband when we went to go get his gun serviced at this place. He found this business through Yelp but was extremely impressed by their website, so he gave this place a try. The place is a bit tricky to find though (for us), once you make a turn onto the street, just go all the way down and make a right into, I believe, second to last driveway (where all the auto shops are) and make another right and building should be on the right hand side. He was helped by Sam, who was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. The price was reasonable, well under $100. This place is very fast as well! We went on a Wednesday afternoon about 3-4pm, they called and told us that it was done and this was at 6:30pm. We were expecting it to be done on Saturday. My husband is extremely satisfied. If you want the best quality repair for a good price, this is the place. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, courteous and profession. I brought my guns in for an inspection to insure serviceability. They explained, clearly, what they were going to do, and walked me through the inspection while I was there! When working on my rifles they noted one was straight from the manufacturer,and one that was built by an armorer/gunsmith. They were right on both accounts. During the inspection my one rifle, from the manufacture, had a minor issue. (A burr on the bolt) They asked if I would like them to repair it, they did not push it, and I was shown what problems were being generated by this problem. I agreed, they did the repair and the gun action now works perfectly! Well worth the money! This is an honest gunsmith, who takes pride in his work and wants customers to be not just satisfied, but happy with the work done. This type of attitude makes him a standout from other shops. I googled True Zero because of their high yelp rating and I was not disappointed. I spoke with David on the phone and described that I had just changed my AR-15 bolt carrier to Nickel Boron. It didn't seem to close properly in the barrel. I took it in for him to inspect and within minutes he explained that it was just fine. David went one step further and tested it with machined specified blank bullets in the chamber. (One that should fit and one that should not) It passed without an issue. Finding a gunsmith is not easy nowadays, I looked up True Zero on Yelp and gave them a call on the 12/30, Sam was very polite and gave me an exact estimate of time it would take to get work done. I went True Zero on 1/2 and dropped off my handguns, I wanted fiber/tritium Truglo TFX sights to be installed on my S&W M&P 45, and wanted to convert my Baretta M9A1 to a G series decocker only pistol. The work was quick and Sam had them ready within a few days. Not long after I mistook a torx screw from a hex key on my AR15 and immediately gave Sam a call, he removed it without charge! Great Armorer/Gun Smith here. I've taken my guns all over OC and out to Riverside for repairs and refurbishing and this was the best experience so far. David took care of two of my rifles (a .30'06 hunting rifle and Browning .22). He got the job done quickly, affordably, and most of all got it done right. He was able to demonstrate the correction on the .30'06 and showed me how another local gun shop, Bolsa Gunsmithing, put the wrong parts on the rifle, which caused a serious problem and infringed on my safety when I attempted to use the rifle. With the .22 he test fired it to ensure the jamming problem I ran into couldn't be duplicated. And since that .22 was also worked on by Bolsa, that's two weapons from the shop he's corrected for me from one location. David is a good guy, treated me fair, I learned a lot and he made my two rifles safe to fire again. read more

My Smith and Wesson .38 special bodyguard revolver was experiencing misfires and True Zero took care of it when other gunsmiths refused to even take the gun apart due to its polymer components. I've been looking for a reliable gunsmith and at True Zero, I finally found one. I took in an older pistol to have looked at as the slide stop wasn't engaging properly. Sam took the gun in and said it would take up to a week. It was apparently a very simple fix, and I got a call later that day that the firearm was ready. Well, I was pretty impressed so I brought four family heirloom rifles to Sam for safety check and evaluation. I couldn't be happier with the results. These rifles were passed down to me years ago, but they hadn't been fired in decades. I wanted a professional to safety-check them before I bought ammo or tried to shoot them, and I'm glad I did - three of the rifles were fine, but one was questionable. It's good to know that beforehand. Sam was very thorough and answered all my questions. The shop is a full-service gun shop, so you can take your firearm there for cleaning, minor mods, all the way up to custom guns. The lobby is small, because they need the room for all the equipment. The prices are very reasonable and it's worth every cent to have a pro working on your guns. So, if you in need of an expert to work on your firearms, go to True Zero. You will not be disappointed.
