I was sad to have lost my dentist of approximately 18 years after she retired. Since then, I have had 2 other dentists and I have to say there was much to be desired. I didn't feel like I was a valued patient and I was driving 15 miles to get to them. Thus my quest to find a new dentist. A friend recommended her dentist and I am very happy to have found the McCarl Dental Group. Everyone I met at this office has been super friendly and helpful. I'm happy to have Dr Lee as my dentist and the dental hygienists, Nancy and Meagan are both very thorough and knowledgeable. The bonus is they are located very close to where I live so I no longer have to drive 15 miles. I highly recommend them.

Recently on going to another dentists imagine my surprised when the ex-ray showed that there is still a post in my bottom gum. They offered to take it out but haven't decided yet since it doesn't bother me. Was this an oversight on her part? Does she have too many patients? Was I a difficult patient? She told me once that she never had a patient with as many problems (I called and came in a lot with problems being a new denture wearer). I'm giving 3 stars because Dr. Lee a fairly good bedside manner and the other people in the office are very nice. Didn't care much for Frances (a little pushy).

The docs here have been great, no issues at all with the care offered. The administrative support is a lot less competent, though. I get it that if the insurance screws up and can't get their pre-auth done timely that I will have to front the entire cost of the procedure. I paid cash to avoid a 4% surcharge to use a credit card. And when insurance screws up again and sends the reimbursement to this office instead of directly to me, I don't need the snippy attitude of the office staff. Your office ignored the finding that proper documentation had not been provided for one claim, yet you told me that it was not covered, when I am staring at the EOB saying that it was denied because more documentation is needed. So then you state that you cannot provide my refund because I am requesting that the required documentation be sent in for ths one line so I can be reimbursed for it, because the entire claim has to be reprocessed and you can't do the refund until it has all been settled. So then why didn't your office send in the documentation months ago when you were notified about it? You offered this explanation twice and then got snippy when I interrupted you on the third time through this ridiculous statement. You berated me for interrupting you, three or four times, when I don't have the time to listen to you prattle on with your long-winded excuses for not refunding my money. And then refused to move on, and hung up on me. Never heard of customer service, have you? You are not right. You were not right about the one line being refused because it was not covered, and I guess it rattled you when I called you on being wrong about that. If your accounting dept has a policy of not refunding pre-payments until all questions have been settled on a claim, then they should not be so adamant about requiring full prepayment for procedures. Or maybe they should pay more attention to the reason that some line items were denied instead of just blaming it all on "your insurance doesn't cover this". It is hard enough to deal with the insurance company to get them to re-process the claim in the first place, I should not then have to argue with the provider's office to get the refund that was sent to them in error because of the insurance incompetence. If this is the level of admin support for the office then I may have to reconsider ever returning there. I have to say this is the first time I have had this type of issue with this office, interactions with other employees have been very good. Even when answers have not been what I wanted to hear they have been delivered in a professional manner. Maybe the practice can stop this one employee from staining their generally positive reputation.

Because of…read moreseveral painful past experiences--and the cost--I avoided going to the dentist for a long time. In 2021, I searched for a dentist who specializes in treating patients with dental anxiety and found Metro Dental. My initial treatment plan estimate was overwhelming--more expensive than a used car. I met with the owner to prioritize the long list of procedures I needed. Unfortunately, I did not qualify for CareCredit or an in-house payment plan. To make the treatment possible, I signed up for a $3,000 FSA plan through my employer and used my $3,000 annual dental insurance benefit. Since both reset every January 1st, I applied the $6,000 each year toward the most urgent procedures. I also worked a summer job to save additional money. It took nearly five years, but I finally completed my treatment plan. Throughout the process, every dentist I saw was compassionate, non-judgmental, and highly skilled. I requied oral sedation, nitrous oxide, and topical numbing gel before injecting anesthetic for all procedures except for cleanings. I only need the nitrous oxide for cleanings. The oral sedation helped relieve most of my anxiety, and the nitrous kept me calm during procedures. I highly recommend the dentists at Metro Dental. The owner is especially compassionate and truly cared about me as a patient. The entire staff support helped me get through something I had been afraid of for years.

Simply put: don't go here. Or, if you do, go somewhere else after and get another opinion…read more I fell into the dental advertising trap. Advertising about catering to patients with dental anxiety. What they don't tell you, is that you get anxiety just by looking at the bill. I needed to get a couple root canals + crowns, or possibly extraction with a bridge. I have solid dental insurance(wife is a public school teacher), and they told me they could only use $3000 towards treatment. I thought that was low, but whatever, that was fine. I hadn't seen the bill yet. Then it hit me. $12,000, AFTER insurance. Had the feeling I was getting fleeced, so I went elsewhere for a second opinion. Got the work done, am now free of tooth pain, and only had to pay $1,900 out of pocket, after insurance. Going with my gut worked out. I don't blame anyone for seeing those pretty Facebook ads and wanting to stop in. I did. Just, if you do, go somewhere else after to get another quote. Other very good doctors can probably do it for much cheaper. Yea, they probably have to make up for high overhead, but that price I first got was insane. I was considering flying to Mexico or Thailand and getting it done over there, where there is world class dental service for much less expense.
