Okay I sat for an hour in the waiting area then after hour called back to some room to wait longer. Finally "office manager" asked if I was okay. WHAT!? I left. Unbelievable. read more

And as for Greenway Dental experience I originally was referred by my daughter to visit Greenway Dental. My daughter was told she needed a root canal by her first dentist for a cavity but Dr. Na was able to fill it without a root canal for only $140. so I scheduled an appt for Dr Na but had to cancel and reschedule that appt due to weather. I called the morning of my appointment to reconfirm at which time I was told I wasn't seeing Dr Na but instead I was seeing Dr Frazer. At first I was hesitant I said okay I'll see how it goes... well she wanted to give me a root canal of course because they make more money that way. I said I've never had a root canal I'm never getting a root canal I want to see Dr Na. Dr Frazier said okay you want to see Dr. Na I'll send him over. Shamira the office manager rushed over to my side said as I mentioned you will need to reschedule with Dr Na if you'd like to see him. I guess she must have told me that on the phone when I called to confirm my appointment that should have been with Dr Na anyway as I'd specifically requested during my first call to GREENWAY DENTAL. When I replied well Dr Fraser said shed send him over? Did she lie? I was not happy at this point ready to run out of the room. So whatever I said to this so called office mgr trying to control the office and everyone in it allowed Dr Na to come over finally. He gave me a cold sensor test on my tooth he asked me to hold my hand up put my hand down when the pain subsided I passed the test he said yes I can fill it. Great I thought. Until they handed me the bill of $546. And then they gave me a 20% discount which brought it down to just $491 still almost $500. Not too close to $140 my daughter paid for her filing. I was ready to pay $100 down payment that they were requesting toward the $491 when the same office manager comes rushing over again only to confront me again with you owe us another $102 for the office visit I said but I was here to get a filling I didn't get. I said there's a $79 new patient special complete x-rays with consultation. Then she went on to say oh well that $100 doesn't include your X-ray they took today. Do you want me to go back and have them add that in? Just being a bully like Trump bully. I'm thinking this is b******* this is a big rip off. Any other office would have honored that $79. So I wound up paying her office visit. I really did not want to go back because of her. So I started calling around only to find that I could find it half the price of what Greenway Dental was charging. Go anywhere but Greenway Dental I do not recommend Greenway Dental! They are money hungry and not out to help you but Dr Na is and he shouldn't be there. FYI IF PAYING OUT OF POCKET and need more than one filling like me... it saves to call other dental offices for lower estimates. (After your first office consultation with X-rays which that dentist can email to you to forward to other dentists) even if you need to drive a little further. Here's what I found after making calls for over the phone pricing: Jeffrey Greenstein DDS/Arundel Dental /Burwood Village Dental/Dental FX who charge $230-260 for 4 surface filing & $50-75 nerve med) Compared to original quote from GREENWAY DENTAL $546 ($430 4 surface filing $116 nerve med) double charging. Oh, they did offer a 20% discount which lowered it to just $491. Still almost $500 plus they charged me $102 for the office visit. I decided to go with Jeffery Greenstein in Pasadena on Ft Smallwood Rd who was very gentle and got the job done for a great out of pocket price. ($435 total filled tooth with nerve med & even pulled a second tooth charged $120 after he took addl $20 X-ray) so I paid for two teeth instead of one. read more

They were extremely unhelpful and I ended up having to cancel because I didn't have the information they needed. I could have easily provided this had they requested it prior to the appointment. I absolutely love this dental office! I was impressed from the first step into the office. The office is very vibrant and the staff is professional. They even have iPads for you to enter your payment information. The staff is very patient and took their time with explaining the balances and payments to ensure I understood what was due. Usually I'm terrified of the dentist. On a particular occasion, I needed to have a tooth extracted. When I was younger, I had my wisdom teeth removed and I was so anxious that I had to be put to sleep. This time I decided to stay awake to have my tooth pulled since I didn't have a ride home afterwards. Dr. Alex is amazing! I didn't have any pain during the procedure AT ALL!! I couldn't believe it. And it was fast too. I assumed it would be a long and complicated procedure because the top part of my back tooth broke off and just left the root to be extracted. So nobody likes going to the dentist but alas oral hygiene is a must for overall good health, yeah no they don't pay me for this stuff lol. All jokes asides they recently brought on a new Hygienist and she's top of the line. Her name is Katelyn and she's top of the line. She's extremely knowledgeable as well as very friendly. She made me feel very at ease, gave me tons of good tips to keep my teeth looking their best as well as made my teeth feel extremely good. Hours later, my teeth still felt really clean and polished. Dr. Alex (Shklyar) is excellent. I have been going to him for about two years. When my spouse needed a dentist about a year ago, I recommended him and she has been going to him too. One Sunday, she fell and damaged her tooth. She called Dr. Alex and he saw her within a few hours. Not only did he come into the office on a Sunday and fix her tooth, but he was very kind and reassuring to her. I had a root canal about 1.5yrs ago and Dr. Alex's care was excellent. I could count on him to give me the facts and to be honest with me about the treatment, and that was very helpful. The vibe in the office seems professional and down to earth. My perception of the hygienists and Dr. Alex is that they keep up with their education/ technology. Every 6months they seem to be doing or thinking about something new. I think that is great- it is so easy to stay the same. read more

I made an appointment to get my teeth cleaned back in June 2021 and they cancelled to say the hygienist wasn't in, so we rescheduled for August. Then they cancelled AGAIN in August because they did not have a hygienist in for that day. When asked what was going on, they couldn't explain it and didn't have any answers for me, so I rescheduled AGAIN for October. A message was left on my phone which I did not see until the day of the appointment (because of unforeseen circumstances), and decided to call the dental office four hours before my appointment, to confirm I was coming in that day for my cleaning and the front office proceeded to tell me that since I didn't call them back the day before to verify the appointment I would have to reschedule AGAIN! Why should I have to call them unless I was going to cancel? Its never been a problem before and they had me on their schedule. After all this I had already taken the day off from work to make sure I didn't miss this appointment, since I had to reschedule the last two times. Then the office wanted me to reschedule AGAIN! I have been going to this dentist office for almost 30 years and have seen Dr.'s and front office staff come and go. This dentist office use to be very nice and they use to CARE about their patients but I have seen the lack of care from the front office in the last four or five years. If this is how you treat your long time patients then It's time to take my business some where else. read more

In general, service is good and the place is nice. However, I decided to move to a different provider after I got an expensive procedure done and they weren't clear about my bills. After I pay all that I was told and left the office with a receipt with balance zero, I was sent a new bill. When I called to ask about it, they just blamed each other instead of offering a solution. I went to Greenway Dental for years. I trusted Dr. Shklyar until he told me I had a cavity on the back of my 2 front teeth and I had a abscess on my tooth which he ignored. I went to get a second opinion and found out that I did not have a cavity of my 2 front teeth it was just coffee stains. And that I had periodontal disease that went undiagnosed under Dr. Shklyar care. I always had dental insurance, I went to him for years to be betrayed in this manner. I'm just writing about this now because I was furious for more than a year. I went every 6 months for years. How am I supposed to take his inaction, and his dental hygienists inaction not to periodontal charting of my gums over the years (more than 10 years). Was this inaction due to the fact that I'm a person of color. Now more than ever people of color are seeing how they're not treated fairly medically eventhough they have every insurance known to man. I've carried health and dental insurance my entire working life. I didn't deserve this. I had to undergo oral surgery due to undiagnosed gum disease going to Greenway Dental (Dr. Shklyar) care for years. No reason for this at all. read more

I've been coming here for years! I don't see myself ever going anywhere else or trust other dental offices with my dental care. My daughter recently got braces and were removed after a year. Her quality of care made this journey stress free. The dental techs are extremely friendly, and knowledgeable. They have a Pediatric dental department located on the other side of the building. They have made a lot of upgrades over the years. I am very impressed with the upgrades. read more

I usually hate the dentist but my appointment today went fabulously. From the office staff being on time and friendly- to the assistant doing the x-Rays being very personable and inquisitive- to the exam with the doctor (which was quick but I didn't have any issues). The doctor was willing to answer any questions I had and I did not get the feeling he was going to tell me I needed anything I didn't just to make a buck. Then, they squeezed me in with the hygienist so I wouldn't have to come back. She, by the way, was fabulous, sweet, thoughtful, and thorough. She gave my teeth a great cleaning and was cognizant of my sensitive teeth. I will be returning here. It's not often you find a great doctor AND great staff all the way around. read more

Update--I went in today for a 9:20 appt, I kid you not by 9:25 i was called to the back. The appointment, for lack of better words was flawless. I have absolutely nothing negative to say. The techs were friendly, answered my questions, and the best part was Dr Alex works quickly and efficiently. Where I'm from, time is money. I wasn't sitting around in the chair for an hour. I had 3 cavities filled with no issues. Dr Alex, & the assistant periodically would ask me, "Are you ok?" Staff even gave me headphones to listen to my music and drown out the drilling sounds. Then immediately after, I was ushered to the hygienist, who gave me the most thorough cleaning I've ever had! Seriously, it took a while bc she she was getting every nook and cranny. She checked in a few times to ask if I was okay as well. I appreciated her explaining which mouth washes I should use, and even the whitening procedures they offer. This visit made me put my foot in my mouth! (See previous review) But again, I'm sure these type of procedures, where insurance pays out more--are a priority and it makes sense why you immediately get ushered to the back, whereas routine 6-month check ups, you end up waiting a whole lot longer (like my last visit)! In any case, ty to Dr Alex and Oksana & the dental assistants. I was thrilled with the professionalism shown and I hope it continues! Only reason why I cannot give the practice 5 starts is bc there are no Saturday hours and there are only 3rd-Friday of the month appointments. Kinda crazy if you ask me. But again, I noticed in MD, the expectation is that kids miss school and parents miss work to go to doctors appointments. I'm an educator--that's just unacceptable to me. I purposely look for doctors with Saturday and evening hours!! read more

Been coming here for the past few years and during my most recent visit I've noticed that the customer service is depreciating. Front desk staff is very unprofessional whenever I call. Also rude when calling to confirm upcoming appointments. Dentist was very insensitive when discussing personal matters and not approachable. Needless to say I will NEVER recommend anyone else to this dental office. Especially since I never received my "referral gift" for referring someone TWO years ago. Today I went in for regular cleaning but was experiencing pain in a tooth due to a bad cavity. I went in ready to get it extracted as I felt that would be the easiest and most painless option but after speaking with Dr.Alex I was convinced he could save my tooth and do a crown instead. I was petrified as this was my first crown and I'm pregnant so I didn't know what to expect. Dr.Alex assured me I would be fine. I came back a few hours later for my crown. The nice assistant talked to me and made sure I was ok..she gave me glasses for the bright light and Dr.Alex gave me my needle to numb me...I DIDN'T FEEL IT AT ALL!!! I was prepping myself to feel an unpleasant pinch but nothing!! Dr.Alex made sure I was numb before starting and stopped multiple times asking if I was ok. It was a lengthy process but a smooth one!! For this to be my first crown I can honestly say I am not afraid anymore not if Dr.Alex does it!! I'll have to go back next week for the permanent crown as we were only able to do a temporary today along with 1 filling but I was very pleased with how everything went! Not once did I feel rushed and he answered any questions I had! After the procedure he explained to me in detail everything he did and gave me some encouragement. It was a little costly but I'd rather pay now than have to have a mouth full of dentures at a young age!! I love this place!! From the front desk ladies who smiled and were very patient and kind to everyone that assisted ..I am convinced I've found my new dentist!! It's been 3 hours since the procedure and my novocaine is just wearing off still I'm not in any excruciating pain hopefully any pain will be minimal ! Totally happy with the experience!!! read more

I had my teeth cleaned at Greenway Dental today. Amazing dental office. Staff was extremely polite, professional and welcoming. My teeth were cleaned by the hygienist, Leelu, and she was excellent! The cleaning did not hurt at all and my teeth feel so clean afterwards! She even gave me a lemon-infused hot towel to wipe my face after the cleaning! How fancy! STOP LOOKING! CALL NOW! New to the area, I was picking a new Dentist blind. Based solely on location, website (for some reason, I feel like that is an indicator of what to expect) and a few other reviews; I scheduled an appointment with Greenway. I went to my appointment - explained I was new, explained I had plenty of work that could be done and explained my concerns. The entire office staff was GREAT! Everyone was very helpful and supportive. And Dr. S proved to be knowledgeable, progressive and dedicated to his patients. Honestly, I was concerned initially because I saw a lot of new stuff - i.e. iPads for client use, a machine that makes crowns on-site and other amenties, BUT I also noticed that the Dentist was "young" and the office needed some updates. But, they took ALL of my concerns away in a matter of minutes. First, they were NOT in a hurry to do any work. He examined me and developed a PLAN. And the Office Manager (wish I knew her name, she was great) worked with me to ensure I got the maximum out of my insurance AND that I could plan things in a way that wouldn't make me go broke. Second, they scheduled an appointment on a day they are typically closed - giving me uninterrupted time and attention. Shanay (sp) and Dr. S replaced 3 crowns at once today. Aside from the regular/expected discomfort, there was no pain. And they look great. I was super impressed and intrigued by the technology available. And Dr. S was more than happy to explain how it worked. Last, there is seemingly a genuine commitment to my oral care and cosmetic concerns. I asked about services and was simply told, "You don't need that..." or "that is not the best choice" INSTEAD of his just doing whatever and taking the money. It also speaks volumes that Shanay (again, sp?!) has been at the office for more than 10 years! She has allowed the current and previous Dentists to do her work and the work for children. I absolutely love Dr. Alex (Shklyar)! I've been trying to find a new decent dentist since I moved to the area 2 years ago, and I definitely found a dentist that exceeded all of my expectations. During my 6 mo. check up and cleaning Dr. Alex was very honest with me about the health of my teeth, what my options were, and what to expect in the future. Dr. Alex is very busy, but I never once felt rushed. Today I went back to get 2 fillings and a crown placed. It was honestly the best dental experience I ever had! Dr. Alex ensured I was numb, and he definitely made sure I was comfortable. He encouraged me to relax, I was provided with headphones to listen to my music during the lengthy procedures, and of course I was provided with sunshades to protect my eyes from the bright light. He uses evidence-based practice to try to minimize or eliminate pain during dental procedures. With all of the work that was done, I felt absolutely no pain, not even during the numbing injections in my gums! A HUGE plus was that my crown was made right in the office and was ready to be placed in my mouth before my appointment was over. That means that I didn't have to receive a temporary crown and I do not have to come back for another visit until my check-up. How convenient is that?!?!! The office staff at this dental practice are very friendly and personable. I have absolutely loved everyone I came into contact with...the receptionists, the billing director, the dental hygienists, and the assistants. I highly highly highly recommend this dental practice! OMG!!! Folks I had an awesome experience at of all places...THE DENTIST!! My tooth has been bothering me for a while and because I dread the dentist I just kept putting it off. Today I just couldn't take it anymore. I don't have a dentist in the area so I didnt even know where to begin. So of course I googled dentists in Greenbelt, Md. and Greenway Dental Group popped up 1st. Make a long story short I gave them a call, they take my insurance and were able to see me today. I made it very clear that Im freaked out by the dentist and they made feel extra comfortable and explained everything and even showed me my tooth and the decay on the computer monitor. Turns out I needed a root canal. Im immediately thinking $$$$$ & more pain. I don't know if my face gave it away but I swear the assistant read my mind. She smiled and said, "dont worry everything will be fine". They had a financial person come back with a complete print out of what my insurance would pay and my out of pocket expense would be. I was totally surprised my insurance pays 80%. YES!!! They completed the procedure right away and I survived. Although I will need a crown on my tooth Dr. Shklyar told me to come in for a overall checkup so I dont end up in pain again. I think I just found my new dentist. read more
