This is absolutely a new favorite lunch spot! Met a friend on a rainy day in May and had the best lunch out I've had in quite a while. I ordered half a dilled egg salad sandwich on multi-grain bread and a cup of one of the soups of the day- chicken Thai. Added an Americano with cream to finish my order and it was all a tasty delight! There was a lull when I came in- so I got right up the counter, but when they got busy- there was a line to order- although they kept it moving well. The tables feel a bit crowded, but it added to the cozy feel. There were a group of college gals, tables of couples, ladies who lunch, and next to me a wedding planner meeting with her customer couple. I was full from the sandwich and soup, but the case filled with AMAZING looking desserts was calling to me and I will definitely be back for lunch- and to sample some pastries! read more

What a fun spot in Anoka! We had just watched the Gopher game at a bar and were in the mood for a sweet treat. Saw this place from main street and wandered in. They had the most beautiful case of desserts, and the inside felt very vintage Parisian. It was hard to decide what to get but we opted for the Raspberry torte. The coffee also looked fantastic, but we noticed they were backed up on orders so we just went with the dessert. Only weird thing was that they didn't just grab it from the case and give it to us. They gave us a number and had us stay seated at a table to bring it out. It was a busy day and they seemed understaffed - so just an odd choice. I go to Truffle and Tort anytime I can. Such good desserts but also lots of delicious soups salads and sandwiches. Also we get Quiche Lorraine for the next day breakfast because it's so good and warms up beautifully. My granddaughters love going for lunch. I have taken them there for years. I visited this café at the worst possible time-- 11am on Anoka's Halloween Parade day on October 28th, 2023. Despite this, there was no delay in service and the café's team worked very well through the hustle and bustle. My top complaint is they do not post the price of their pastries/cakes. This has always been a red flag for me since the consumer doesn't know what they're getting into until they discover it at the register. It makes things unnecessarily difficult for those who are on a budget. I ordered their daily special, chicken pot pie (which also did not have its price listed. It was very good and cooked well. The salad with the vinaigrette was a good touch. I got a lemon poppyseed scone (very dry and not a lot of taste) and the concerto cake (very good, not too sweet) to go. Some important things to note before visiting is this place is not very big, has few tables (not good for large groups, 1-4 people is ideal), and it gets congested quickly around the counter since there isn't enough space for people to order/wait/get in line to order/wait to use the bathroom. It's all in one area and that area is small. Bathroom was clean and spacious (only one toilet). Parking is free on-street. read more

Seriously one of the best little cafes in the state! Their desserts are always divine (you MUST try the passion fruit tart - OMG), and their food is always amazing! I came here to pick up lunch to go for the first time the other day. This has been on my list of places to try for a while, and I had the time so I figured let's do it! It was pretty busy when I went in. A good sign that it's so popular, right? The downside to that is this is a place that's not really built to handle a lot of people. It's a small space and where it may have been going for a cozy vibe, to me it felt very claustrophobic and anxiety inducing. There is nowhere to wait if you're taking food to go that's not right up against someone's table and it's awkward to just be standing right in someone's space when they're trying to enjoy a meal. They even have a table right against the wall by the dessert counter, which was really the only place that felt appropriate to stand and wait for my order. But, it was occupied, so again, not very comfortable for me or I'm sure for the people trying to eat and have a conversation. I just don't really see the point in having this one table shoved into a weird place rather than having a place for people to wait for their order. There were just too many tables crammed into a small space and there wasn't much room to move, and really nowhere to stand where you didn't feel like you were in someone's personal space. Anyway, I got in line and placed my order for a turkey ciabatta and a couple dessert items to go. A few minutes after I placed my order, I was called back up to the counter because they were out of turkey, and chicken. I was kind of surprised that this wasn't something that was known when I was placing my order since it was kind of a major ingredient and both were prominently featured in many menu items, but I went ahead and chose ham instead (the other option was roast beef). Had I known this before I placed my order, I would have gotten something else or just went somewhere else entirely. I don't have any dietary restrictions, but this would be frustrating for people who can't have pork or red meat. The staff at the counter seemed a little overwhelmed. It took quite a while for my order to come out. Thankfully a table cleared while I was waiting so I was able to sit down and feel a little less awkward milling around and trying not to be in anyone's way while I was waiting. I finally got my food and brought it back to work. The sandwich was good, I did enjoy it. However, I wouldn't say it was worth the $10.99 price tag. I've been to other cafes where I could spend the same amount and get a side and/or a drink with it. The desserts were very good. I really enjoyed them, they were crafted well and tasted just as good as they looked. Again, everything felt a little overpriced though. The two small desserts (a rumba and a chocolate nirvana) and the sandwich cost about $24 before tip, and one of the desserts was even discounted by 25%. Bottom line is the food was fine, the desserts were really good, and the atmosphere was uncomfortable for me. I would not come back here for dine in service or food. I'd consider coming back to pick up a dessert to go as long as I could be in and out relatively quickly. I understand wanting to fit as many customers as possible into a spade to reduce having to make people wait and increase sales, and some people aren't going to mind that at all. For me though, it just wasn't a very comfortable. Between that and the surprising lack of main ingredients, it detracted from the overall experience for me. I am sympathetic to the fact that there are issues with staffing and supply chains industry wide. I will say this is the first time I've encountered two major components of meals being unavailable without staff being aware before I placed my order. Hopefully this is not a regular thing and I just came on a bad day. read more

I was driving by and exploring when I saw the magic word dessert. I something mediately since street parking is free for two hours yet went in when you get mask and I freaked out everybody with my mask with my ordering. Mettal Ave cold. I sat outside to drink it. Street is loud of course however there was a cool breeze and plenty of tourists walking by billions I said like I am on the Champs Elysées in Paris (well maybe I have amplified my feelings but after the pandemic everything is amplified). I stopped in this cute little shop on the last day of my husband's training. We got a Nirvana and Chocolate Decadence. By far the best desserts we have ever had! Adorable little place to stop for lunch or a sweet treat with friends and family! Beautifully decorated on the inside with a few tables and a gorgeous mural painted on the wall. We were told by staff that a (former?) employee painted it -wow! Their lunch offerings include homemade soups, salads and sandwiches with different sides. They have advertised several gluten free lunch options the times I have visited, as well, which allows my sister to join me. I have enjoyed every soup I've had as well as the egg salad sandwich. My sister liked the salads. The hand-crafted beverages have been delicious! I love that you can get a chai latte, salad and a sweet all in one adorable spot. And finally, dessert. A simply delightful, lovely cafe! My friends and I had a delicious lunch here and we each took home a couple different desserts to try. We came in from the rain outside to the warm and intimate space inside Truffles and Tortes. The few times I've come here I find myself just standing in front of the counter ogling the incredible looking desserts. Unlike some confections that look stunning but disappoint in flavor, the sweets here give you the best of both worlds. Somewhat pricey, but worth the splurge if you are around Main Street, Anoka. (Hot) Roast Beef Sandwich with provolone and roasted red peppers- Very good flavor combination! The beef was tender and juicy, the bread was absolutely perfect. Chicken Wild Rice Soup- came with oyster crackers and I highly recommend trying it! Desserts- Andes Mint Rumba and the award winning Caramel chocolate dome (forgot the actual name) were both incredible and I would definitely get again. Texture and flavor of the chocolate cake and filling inside are amazing. There is street and free 3hr lot parking nearby. Limited seating and space to stand in line. The menu is written on their main chalkboard behind the counter but I appreciated that they had laminated copies of their food menu available as it was much easier to read.
