Recently checked out @beancomaplegrove in Maple Grove for a coffee date and was impressed by how charming this place was. They also have a spot in White Bear Lake Here's what I'd recommend: Croissant Sandwich Iced Pistachio Latte Cinnamon Crunch Muffin (served warm) not pictured but looked great were the crepes-next time I'll have to try one. Fun tip, they have a drive through! Easy to swing through for a coffee and a treat quickly! A funky thing is that they share half of their building with a bank. Shout out to Tahany! This girl right here makes the place so warm and inviting. I never thought I'd be a regular at any establishment but here I am, a regular, and it's partially because of her! She always works hard with a smile on her face. I can't tell you how many times she's gone above and beyond with a heart of gold. This place would not be the same without her. Was surprised to find that my bank (Magnifi Credit Union) shares a space with a gourmet crepes and coffee shop. It smells too good to get any work done. Also, I would want their coffee over my K-Cup brewed at home. There was a little bit of a line, but it went fast. We found Bean Co on Yelp when we didn't want to wait 45 mins at the Original Pancake House 1.5 hrs prior to closing. I had the s'mores crepe and the chai spice latte. Initially I wanted to chai Thai latte but they were out. The barista highly recommended the chai spice latte as an alternative and her recommendation was spot on! Chai can be hit or miss but this was one of the best chai lattes I had. The s'mores crepe was delicious but very sweet and filling. A couple of improvement notes! 1. I get a ton of deals from Bean Co texted to me (which I love!) They often get me into the store. However, the staff really struggled to redeem my coupon, and couldn't even tell me what items it applied to. In my opinion, if you're going to send out a bunch of coupons, you should prioritize educating your staff on them and how to use them in the system! 2. The staff was friendly but struggled to understand my order or requests. 3. I had the turkey French toast sandwich. It needed a sauce, and maybe a sweetner on the " French toast " which was really just thick bread. Overall I like this place for its menu variety! The pumpkin spice latte was good! Overall enjoyed the experience here! The crepe was delicious, but it didn't feel like a good value. $12 would feel like more of a sweet spot, but maybe I'm just dreaming here and remembering the old days when things were cheap. I thought the coffee options were satisfactory, but if you eat an overly sugary crepe right before hand it does feel like a bit of a let down until your taste buds clear. We really appreciate the staff here. We were a bigger party of 6 and had a toddler and baby so they offered us a private break room and brought our order to us! Huge variety of options and lots of seasonal fun coffees and drinks. There's a cute outdoor patio but lots of options inside as well. The acai you can do as many bases and toppings that you want for no extra cost! That's pretty unheard of and very appreciated. You can make your own smoothie combo as well. read more

This is a cafe that shares space with a business. It's a really interesting setup. Lots of space to sit and even a fire place to enjoy. Staff was really welcoming and enthusiastic. We had a lovely brunch at Bean Co! Relatively new to the area and wanted to check it out, beautiful interior with great natural light, variety of seating options, and a large private room in the corner. Service was quick, friendly, and super helpful! I ordered the French toast with berries and it was very fresh, delicately balanced with sweet and savory and just enough to make you feel content without needing a nap! If you're coming to bean co, it's going to be a much better experience inside than the drive thru. Last time I tried the drive thru, I waited over 25 minutes. The service inside is much faster. The food was surprisingly good! The avocado dream toast was delicious. The pastries were pretty good too. The coffee didn't live up to the same standards though. Not bad, but not particularly noteworthy either. The cafe itself was shared with the other business in the building, but looked calming still. read more

Beautiful Space, Just Hoping for a Better Brew Next Time Rating: 2.5-3/5 I had high hopes walking into this spot -- the space is genuinely beautiful, with a lot of natural light and cozy lounge furniture that makes it easy to settle in. It feels like a place where conversations could flow, remote work could get done, or you could simply enjoy some time on the patio. Even though it's tucked next to a credit union, the design and ambiance make it easy to forget that once you're inside. I ordered the crème brûlée iced oat milk latte (chilled) and an affogato. The latte was mellow and not too sweet, which I appreciated, but the espresso shot itself felt off -- a bit sour, and the pour seemed rushed. The affogato unfortunately didn't land either. I know how much a good espresso shot can change everything, so I'm hoping it was just an off day or a stale batch of beans. That said, I'm not writing this place off. I'd love to come back and try something from their breakfast menu and give their coffee another chance. I'll update this review if things turn around -- rooting for it, because the space definitely has potential. read more

Great spot to have a light lunch with a friend or two! We sat outside on the patio. I ordered a savory crêpe that was warm and had salmon, arugula and pine nuts in it. It came with a side salad. I also ordered a caramel Italian waffle roll and a ginger/peach iced tea. There was only one staff behind the counter to take and prepare orders, but fortunately it was just my friend, and I waiting at the counter. Overall, staff was friendly and accommodating. The crepe was fresh. My friend ordered a smoothie that was also made to order. It took a little longer since there was only one person working behind the counter, but she did a great job as everything was exactly what we ordered and tasted great. The Italian waffle roll was a new food to me and I didn't know what to expect. The outside is not crispy and the inside is a chilled and somewhat dense dairy filling. The flavors were good, i'm just noting the texture as it was a surprise to me. I will note that it was quieter than usual on the inside. There were people taking advantage of it being an ideal spot to sit at your computer for work or study. There is a nice little fireplace area inside as well, it looks like it will be cozy on cold days ahead of us. read more

I would not recommend going here if you have food allergies, I Informed the women at the counter of my 911 allergy to berries. She said everything was clean after use and they were not cut in the same area. When my food was ready the side salad was loaded with berries. I again told them I have a 911 allergy to berries asked if my drink and food were safe for me to consume they again told me yes. I had a few bites of my food and a few sips of my drink and could already feel my throat swelling. After spending 50 dollars for 2 sandwiches and 1 tea I do expect to be able to consume it without it including a hospital visit and the bill that comes with it. The few bites/ sips I did have were delicious but definitely not worth it if you have food allergies. read more

This exceeded my expectations! Met some friends for coffee and shared the savory salmon crepe, triple berry crepe, and one of the toasties (you get two per order!) This coffee shop is located in the same building as Magnifi financial. They have a variety of pastries, coffee, crepe, sandwich, acai, smoothie, and ice cream. The shop is nice and bright with natural light coming through the windows and blue lighting in the ceiling since it's the financial building. We were given lots of recommendations on the food they offered, I was just looking for something simple to go with my coffee. I had chosen an oat cookie with cranberries. Which was delicious. As a mom with littles I love anywhere with a drive thru! Speak up when ordering to help staff since 94 is right next to the building and gets quite loud. They had quite a big menu with choices of drinks & food. I loved the iced hazelnut latte I got. As for the food, I wouldn't order what I got again. The muffin was heated up too long and a good portion of it was hardened. Tastes like from a box so for $3.75 was not worth it in my opinion. The sandwich was alright, but had so many toppings it fell apart quite quickly. Would love to return and try different items to see if my experience is better. read more

New coffee place...had to try it. I had the dark chocolate mocha. It was ok but not cheap and definitely heavy on the chocolate. The sizing was confusing since they only had small and medium...medium is by definition the size between small and large...if there is no large, how can there be a medium?!? :). Bean Co does have a lot of different options besides just coffee including ice cream, crepes, sandwiches, and small pastries. My daughter had a crepe that was very good but eating a crepe off a paper plate with plastic fork and knife is not a great experience. During our visit, it was fairly busy with a few people in line. Between it being a new store and the constant line of customers, there were some opportunities for improvement. The trash can right next to the drink/food pickup was overflowing. Since all food is served with disposable utensils and plates, it fills up fast. Also, one of our drinks seemed to have been forgotten based on the five minute delay between it and the rest of our order. They figured it out, but it was weird timing. Overall, it was an okay experience. We will probably return for the crepes and to try a few other menu options. read more

Visited on a Sunday mid day and the parking lot was fairly busy. The spot is located in the lobby of Magnifi financial so makes for an interesting feel but the space is large, open and light filled. There is also plenty of patio space for nice days. If the patios closed, space would have been tight with not enough seating for all customers. Menu is vast but a little confusing how the prices are noted. They also only have small and medium sizes for coffees. They offer açaí bowls, smoothies, coffee, sandwiches, crepes, small pastries and ice cream. We ordered two iced mochas, a hot latte and a triple berry crepe. The drinks were pretty standard. Unfortunately they were out of 2/3 SF syrup options. Waiting for items we ordered didn't take too long except for one drink that might have been missed. Other customers seemed to be getting orders out of sequence as well but might have been due to the different stations (crepes, sandwiches, coffee, smoothies) all working at different paces. Overall, coffee - 3/5, crepe 5/5, space 4/5, service 4/5. Would visit again. read more

I'm so sorry to leave this review, but this was one of the worst food experiences I've ever had. I ordered a raspberry pistachio croissant and a cinnamon roll. Both items should have just been a pull off the shelf and put on a plate in 5 minutes ordeal. I waited over 20 minutes, and they gave me the wrong order at first. The pistachio croissant was flavorless with the cream tasting like a mix of butter and lard, no other flavors. The croissant I'm pretty sure came out of a package from Costco, just like the pesto I saw behind the counter. The cinnamon roll was in a plastic container that was plopped onto my plate. It was frozen cold and broke the fork when I tried to take a bite. It was advertised as coming straight out of the oven and served hot to your plate. When I was even able to take a bite, I got uncooked dough and a strange waxy film. I should also mention that the croissant was $7.50 and the cinnamon roll was $6.75. Absurd prices for the pre-made crappy food that was received. I'm not sure how this place has any good reviews. It makes me question if the establishment deletes negative reviews. I will never try this place again, and I can't recommend it to anyone. read more

Oh boy- I wanted to like this place. It is a new spot so maybe with time it will improve and I can update my review for a better rating/experience. I think there is just too much going on maybe? It's a coffee shop but besides drinks they also sell ice cream, smoothies/smoothie bowls, crepes and sandwiches... The staff seemed overwhelmed and the price was not cheap. I didn't end up really liking any of the food or drinks I got here. My iced caramel latte was watery and sandwich had no flavor + bread of not toasted long enough. Oh I also got a savory crepe to share with my partner which was decent. It's nice that they have a drive thru though. Hoping to give this place another chance as I do enjoy that they have a drive-thru option... always a plus! I ordered a raisin bagel with jelly and a hot medium vanilla bean latte. I love when places carry a vanilla bean flavor option! Barista seemed friendly and nice to talk to, so that was great service there. When drinking the latte, it was very hot. Almost do I say, too hot? It also had a burnt flavor to it so it made me wonder if it's being over extracted? Maybe the hot water is flowing through the grinds too slowly creating harsh and burnt tasting espresso? Or maybe they're overpacking the grinds? I was hoping the bagel was going to stand out in a different way and it tasted just like the ones from Sam's club. Maybe the jelly from somewhere local?? Nope. It was a small plastic Smuckers one. Which I noticed there was an added $2 for the jelly. I really wanted to enjoy this place, truly. Sigh...my child loves crapes so we found Bean Co about a week ago and had gone back two times since then; we placed an order for today and we did not have the same great experience that we had the first couple of times but I don't blame the business: this is ALL on the two employees that are there at this moment. Crape is undercooked, there is not much salmon in and I had to ask for a refund on a blueberry/strawberry crape because the person boxing it dropped a box, picked up, placed it on the food counter where my crape was being prepared, graved my crape and placed it in a box...lol, without removing the gloves she used to pick up something from the ground! lol...when I asked for a refund she angrily looked me up and down; my mother is Russian and she is the only person I have ever seen do this so animated. Great place: unless the European servers are there; they don't speak English, need better training on food preparation and need food handling training. read more

Wow - my experience was awesome! After a stop at the nearby Paradise Car Wash, I tried their drive-thru for some unique items. The croissant (with spinach and cheese) is probably the best I've ever had - so flaky and flavorful. The Nutella and fruit crepe took a bit longer (to be expected because it's a CREPE - not your usual fast food) and was deliciously messy when I ate it at home. Came on a Thursday mid day around 3, it was just me and 2 other ladies enjoying the patio. Since this place opened 3 weeks ago, I give them grace on perfecting my order and taking a couple tries to make it and taking about 15 ish minutes. I got the smoothie bowl with passion fruit, blue cream, and dragon fruit. The toppings are free so I added strawberries, bananas, and agave... which I'm now realizing it doesn't appear they added the agave. No big deal! The blue cream is a blue spirulina base. There was ample space inside and outside! The owner was so friendly in explaining everything they have to offer and I think if everyone who works here follows that mantra this place will do well! It would help to have recommendations for the smoothies and bowls since they just have a list of ingredients for you to create your own, but that's what the staff is there for! Would not recommend to coffee lovers. We used the drive through, the worker seemed confused by the order of a large iced mocha, but turns out only small and medium drinks - we get to the window and the worker has got to be under 13 years of age, and seemed a little confused/lost on how to conduct the transaction (don't blame him). So I get the iced mocha, only for it to be an ice latte (and not a very good one), so I went inside to talk to someone to see if they can fix it (coffee isn't cheap as we all know). Inside, the manager said he could fix it and ended up dumping syrup into the drink, making it taste even worse. I explained this isn't a mocha, and I honestly don't want it anymore. He then asked me to wait a minute to see if he can fix it again - this time he used chocolate sauce and while it looked more like a mocha it tasted like chocolate milk. Would not recommended at all. While inside, I would say of the 8 workers, 6 of them seemed under age for employment. I should've known better, since it's connected to a bank vs an actual coffee shop. read more

I visited here yesterday, I ordered a couple of hot tea's. The first pick was the seasonal pumpkin pie chai, the cashier couldn't find it on the tablet to place the order even though it was on their menu. He seemed incompetent and frustrated when he could only find the pumpkin pie latte and I stated I wanted the chai because I don't like coffee taste. So he said he can make the chai even without it coming up. I clarified twice, no espresso and no coffee. When they brought out the drinks I knew immediately the "chai" I ordered was indeed the pumpkin pie coffee drink, I brought it to their attention saying that I didn't want the coffee/espresso. They stood there and said "ok" with a poor grumpy expression, I had to then proceed to ask if they could remake it to which they then said "I suppose". When they came back out they said they couldn't remake it without coffee and "it is what it is". Their attitude was so uninviting and honestly infuriating how incompetent they seemed. We ordered a latte, muffin, and everything bagel. they then told us they didn't have an everything bagel but did have an onion. we then got a cinnamon raisin bagel, lukewarm coffee, and a muffin that felt like it had recently been either frozen or refrigerated. Asked them to fix the coffee but then got a coffee back that wasn't what I'd ordered, but was hot. So, anyways, would not recommend. read more
