My favorite Panque de Nuez like a less rich pound cake.

I complained at first that they had no signs or prices. I've been going there forever now on my bike. Nobody speaks English but the pastries which I thought odd, turned out to be very pleasing. Nothing is extremely sweet. The French controlled Mexico for some time and it shows here - with homemade puff dough and croissants. And if they can make them, they can do anything. Still no prices or signs tho. I guess I don't care, I had to look them up really helped me appreciate them. I don't think this is a run in the mill baker. A Master. Today they had 2 new coolers out front. The packing slip said "Morales '"Enbessments'" which I thought adorable.

    Yum

I found this place while looking for another bakery that must have been located here. The short & sweet of it is they are not short of sweets. We selected a few delicious pastries as you can see in my photos. They tasted delicious and were priced quite reasonably. A generous blend of traditional items with a few like donuts that one might find in most bakeries. They also had a small grocery area with items you might find in a small hispanic grocery. Queso Fresco, Jarritos, Chorizo, and quite a variety of spices caught my eye.

Delicious pastries for a great price! If I lived here, I would definitely be a regular.

First, I love the pastries you can buy to-go. This review though is for their cooking class. Be…read moreaware that you will be seated with a group of 6 and you'll have to work with them to decide who does what tasks, since not everyone will get to try making everything. I attended solo but luckily really liked the group I was assigned to. We wanted everyone to work on things they enjoy and allowed everyone to try some parts of the important tasks (making pasta and pastry dough). Your enjoyment might really depend on what your group is like. You can buy wine and beer to drink while you take the class, and those were reasonably priced I thought! $9 for a glass of wine and I think $8 for beer. The class was chaotic since we were making three courses and things needed to be done at different times, but the chaos felt like how it really is in a kitchen making multi course menus, so that didn't bother me! The assistants were great and helped us stay on track and helped if we were struggling with anything. I can't say I learned much from the class (which is why I only gave 4 stars), but I sure had a lot of fun!

Living in the North Loop, Cooks Bellecour was hands-down our most visited spot--and for good…read morereason! This place is a slice of French heaven right in Minneapolis. Their pastries? Pure magic. The chocolate almond croissant is next level--flaky, buttery, and packed with rich, decadent flavor. And don't even get me started on the breakfast sandwiches--they're gourmet-level masterpieces. Every bite is perfection. The vibe & service here is warm and inviting, with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries filling the air. Whether you're grabbing a coffee, treating yourself to a pastry, or diving into one of their soups or salads, this place nails it every time. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. Cooks Bellecour is an absolute gem!
