Today one of his "specialist " came to my house little did he know we have cameras and saw he spent about 1 minute spreading fertilizer on my lawn up one side of the front lawn and down the other side never going onto my side or back yard. Then had the nerve to state on the comments online that he knocked on my door but no one answered! I was right there and saw exactly how ho rip me off of $115, for nothing the specialist was Jaden King. I tried reaching out to the local franchise owner without success. Terrible Service. The lawn looked worse than it had, they blamed it on draught. They talked us into spraying all our bushes and trees, claiming they had a disease. My plants were fine until they sprayed them. Then they looked terrible. Aerated lawn TWICE because first time they did a terrible job. We paid for all of the extras, and our lawn looks terrible. They came to try and get us to use again this year...the technician wrote up our lawn and said......Aeration is suggested, and quite a few other things, which is everything they did last year. They don't call you back, they give you the run around. Horrible experience. Lawn is in the worst shape it's been in the last 10 years. I will never use TruGreen ever again. My lot has cameras. The technician never applied product to the entire lot. The dallisgrass is out of control - one of the most difficult weeds to get under control. I had previously applied products and done weed control myself. This year I made the (unfortunate) decision to pay TruGreen, thinking it would save me time and money. Nope. The lawn is worse than any year I have lived in this house, they absolutely do not apply to the entire lawn, and when I reported this online last month, the response was for the tech to literally wave at my camera and put the little sign in the yard that they had showed up. Then they wanted to do an aeration and overseed two days after applying weed control (a big no-no). I canceled the service. Save yourself a lot of time and money and sign up for Scotts subscription and apply products yourself. You'll get a much better result. read more

I have been a customer of Lawn Service for almost 10 years. This summer, August 2024, I got a call from one of their reps, telling me my bushes have a disease that looks like a spider web. He told me I could purchase a separate contract for bushes and trees where I get 4 services in the year. I told him I noticed my roses had that issue, and he assured me that with this service, they would be treated. He also told me if I did not treat those bushes, the disease would spread to the lawn. They applied their treatment once, but I was not home then. 2 months later, there were no more applications. I called their office and asked them when they sprayed my bushes again. They said since I got the service late in the year in August, that the rest of the 3 services will be done in 2024, contrary to what their rep told me. I told them I still have the same issue with my roses and asked them to come back again for a 2nd spray. This time I was home, and I asked their rep to spray the roses. He said we do not treat roses! He also refused to spray my evergreens in the back saying they don't spray them in the fall, but I could see that they started to turn brown, something I never saw before. I am very disappointed with this company. Last week I called them and said I needed to speak to a manager about a complaint. One week later, they still have not called back. They don't care about their reputation and do not want my business anymore. I am not going to use them next year for sure anymore. They lost me as a customer because their sales reps are like used car salesmen, they will lie to sell their product, and their customer service is a joke. Such a shame! read more

TruGreen is the absolute worst in terms of customer service and lawn service generally. I entered into a plan with them in April 2024 and during the first visit the technician sprayed too much product and destroyed a section of my newly installed sod. I immediately called in to complain and a new technician came to my property and confirmed what I had reported. In addition, a customer service rep showed up to make a general inquiry and while present I shared the issue with my sod. She called in to report the issue in my presence and took pictures as did the second technician and I was told they had escalated the matter and someone would get back to me. it is now July 2024 and I have not heard a word from TruGreen. They have since made 2 visits to my home when I was not present (as part of my plan) and my lawn looks so much worse than it did before they started (more weeds and burnt out sections of grass). There are additional sections of my lawn with sod that are now destroyed as well. Getting assistance is impossible. The reps are nice but no one has followed up to address the issue. Never again. If I could give no stars I would as TruGreen is certainly not deserving of any. read more

Trugreen is an unethical rat's nest. I ordered the service I wanted with a representative. I pre paid my bill for the year in full (approx $2700.00). Apparently Trugreen provided mosquito services which I had not requested, they are now badgering me for payment of those services. I have spoken with others who have similar if not identical experiences. This seems to be a common occurrence with Trugreen. provide service not authorized and then demand payment for same. I received Lawn Care service from TruGreen. My lawn not only has multiple BLONDE patches but it has BALD SPOTS not. Like it was given a bad perm with no neutralizing shampoo. I fired TruGreen after the second application for the season which was a fertilizer spread. Before this application my lawn was thriving and lush with all the rain we'd been having. Within days of the application it became apparent that TruGreen had fertilizer-burnt the hell out of my lawn in several places. The attached picture shows how bad my lawn still looks two months later. They had burnt my lawn last year too but not nearly as badly and not nearly in as many places so I let it go. I called customer service and they said they were going to have the local manager come and look at the lawn. I did see someone from TruGreen come and look at the property on my security cameras. What followed was a round of phone tag in which the local office called me and left no material message but only the central customer service phone number for me to return their call. (Twice when I tried to pick up their phone call in real time they hung up when I answered.) All the central customer service could do was take a message to give the local office and I never got to talk to anyone who could actually do something to remedy my situation. The last time I spoke to the central customer service who again told me that there was nothing they could do I told him well the one thing they could do was cancel all future service and close my account. I never did get to speak to a manager, even at the central customer service. They did not refund the charges for the burning application. They made no attempt to remedy the situation. I am happily rid of TruGreen. I will never use them again. I generally take the time to write review only if I'm very happy or very unhappy.I wrote this extensive review is a public service. Technicians rush thru their work without paying attention to whether or not they are treating all of the surface area. They schedule and rarely honor them. This is problematic at in the example of seeding/aeration, this service needs to coordinated with mowing. Very poorly run, at least here in northern NJ. read more

NEVER USE I can't agree more with all these other unsatisfied customers. Our lawn has never looked this bad. Clover, dandelions, broad leaf grass, you name the weed and we probably have it. Our grass is burnt out in multiple places. The customer service is centralized as some reviews mention; they just spout niceties and guarantee that they will remedy compliants, but there is no real communication with local branches. For instance, we've been requesting Saturday service for 2 years and it has never happened. No technician showed up for a month because apparently they either went to the wrong address or did not provide service at all. Yet the tech documented the service was completed. We have proof on our cameras that no tech was present on the claimed date and time. We brought this to the attention of customer service and they simply noted it. When a supervisor or manager did come out to look at our lawn, he was obviously disinterested and patronizing and blamed how short we cutting the grass and how we were watering for how the lawn looked. We've been cutting the grass to the same length and watering on the same schedule for years and we've never seen our lawn look like it does this year. Last fall, I discontinued my plan from the website and removed my card. This morning, they paid a surprise visit to my house and charged me $58! I called this evening and the "customer service" representative made it clear that she didn't have the ability to clear the bill and that even though I didn't renew my plan, I never CANCELLED my plan. The representative continued to interrupt me when I talked, only to finally tell me that that she would tell her manager about my bill. I guess I'm supposed to hear from them sometime next week... or never? Now I have one more thing that I have to stay on top of. What a convenience. On top of all this, after a year of service, where I paid several hundred dollars, my lawn looks WORSE. Talk about adding insult to injury. If my bill doesn't get wiped, I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. I am absolutely aghast at their approach to business... from dropping by my house unannounced to their unapologetic and rude customer service representative. I called back and ended up speaking to a much more competent customer service representative. She started off by apologizing for any confusion or inconvenience the situation caused and assured me that the account would not only be cancelled per my request, but also credited for the amount billed. I have no idea if my Yelp review had an impact on this or not... timing seems more than a little coincidental. I'm glad this was resolved, but I wish it never would have happened to begin with. Horrible lawn for 2 years. I've had the most weeds on my lawn ever. Multiple revisits to correct the problem with weeds and burn spots. I don't believe any applications were put down and if they were, they were not good enough to treat the problem. My lawn looks as if nothing was put down at all and I was just being charged. This has been my experience. I don't feel there is any time taken by True Green to address any of the problems with the lawn or send someone to better understand how to treat the issue and follow up until the problem resolves. read more
