Terrible! The completely killed my rear lawn and destroyed most of the front. Really just a marketing company. Tried to cancel. Required two calls and waiting on hold for over 30 minutes. Don't bother with them. I took care of my lawns for over 40 years and had no serious problems. In two months, they have destroyed my lawns. I wish I read these reviews before I ordered the service . After canceling 2 appointments without notice they finally kept this one today . It was a simple treatment to be done on the front and back lawns. Although posting their "stay off treated area " signs in both locations, I went to check my front camera 1st and its so obvious they didn't preform the service other than sticking a sign in the ground . I totally checked for anything being applied and there was nothing . Checked the back camera and barely an attempt to apply any treatment but the sign was placed . What a joke . Just going to go to HD and buy Scott's and do it myself this week . Totally regret my decision having this company come out. The other reviews post make sense now. I would not recommend their service. I have been a customer for 13 years. Little did I know that they were skipping the backyard. On several occasions, I was at home, and saw the technician do the front and leave without doing the backyard. Called multi times and they sent someone to do the backyard after I complained. Today same thing happened even though on my account they have a note to remind the technician to do the backyard. so I decided to cancel my service. Beware of Trugreen misrepresenting the service they provide. I got a call from their sales agent who sold me 1 year of lawn care service which I pre paid. After 1 year Turgreen continued with lawn care application without my approval / consent. Now they claim that auto renewal is part of their contract. 1) I was not informed about auto renewal during the sale call 2) I did not sign any contract with Truegreen. I have reported this case to Better business bureau. If you have had similar experience please contact me as I looking to pursue legal action against this fraudulent business practice. read more

Signed up in July 1921, was having Wii trouble in both the front and back yards, Trugreen contract says they'll be out every six weeks so the contract would end 10 to 11 month but they sped up visits to every 3 to 4 weeks there by shortening my contract by literally months also they miss my aeration and seeding in August they came out and did it in the third week of December, grass does not germinate in December I told him that, but he told me that I can call back and have them redo it so now it is March and I have tried three times for them to come out and aerate and seed my yard, but now they want me to wait till August this is crazy I've been promised three different times now that they would come out and aerate and seed , the real problem is that you can't talk to your local true green guy on the phone you have to talk to people on the 800 number and explain yourself over and over and over again nothing gets done they do things the way they wanna do and not how you want them done now I am totally pissed off I've talked with these people many many times and they keep making me promises but nothing happens just yesterday they came out and said they fertilize when they had done nothing they didn't even leave a note on my door, I would not hire these people they are not trustworthy it took a lot for me to put this down but I'm warning you people stay away from these guys read more

If I could give this company a negative star I would. Now first off let me say, that all bad reviews must be taken with a grain of salt and look at the person writing at the review. If they write ALL bad reviews or if they give companies good reviews too. so please by all means take a look at my other reviews to see that I am not the complaining type. I will definitely give credit where credit is due. On that note, lets talk about TruGreen in Milpitas. First they sold me a package that was supposed to last until the end of December, but now tell me that November 7th was my last service for the year. So I was shorted a month! Second: they sold me a package for trees and shrubs that they sold it as it was good for the duration of my contract, meaning it was a monthly service. Come to find out, it was a one time service. Their sales department don't know what they are selling. Once I found this out, I immediately cancelled the service before they got here. When I called and spoke to toby in C.S. she either never cancelled it or one hand doesn't talk to the other because the tree and shrub guy still came! We refused service. Third: They measured my lawn from Satellite and over measured it by a lot. I had to have someone else come in and remeasure. It matters because they charge you per square footage. When I told Toby in customer service she was rude to me acting as if I had no idea what I was talking about. And made it sound like I was lying! Fourth: One guy would come and assess the problem, put in the work order, and then for weeks we wouldn't hear anything and then when we did the guy didn't even have the right equipment or spray for the work that needed to be done! So then we had to wait yet another 2 weeks! This happened 3 TIMES!! Fifth: Just this week I received a letter to continue my service with them as it was ending. This is how I found out they cut my service short. I told them no, and that I wanted to cancel, and they supposedly cancelled my service. They asked why I was cancelling, I told them politely and then they said "Ok, thank you!" and that was it. They didn't apologize for the horrible customer service, they didn't try to make it right, they just said ok thank you, good bye. Not to mention, my brand new lawn of only 9 months looks horrible! I was warned that this company was a scam and just are out for your money. Shame on me for not listening and shame on the company for having no ethics. I've learned my lesson. Trugreen has helped me maintain my lawn in great condition during the worst drought in CA history! Without them, I would have lost my lawn. It looks great, weed free, and as good as can be expected on the two watering days we get. The aeration treatment helps my lawn maintain the water it does get. I have been a TruGreen customer for a long, long time, but during drought, they have done an excellent job of helming me to retain my lawn. Thanks TruGreen! read more

I had to give 1 star but would have given 0 if I could. I see that when I told them I would give them a bad review on Yelp they probably don't care because they already have so many bad reviews. We hired them for mosquito control because their company came up as "best for mosquitoes" in an article from pests.org. We have an unusually high amount of mosquitoes in our yard and we were very excited to hire them for spraying. We signed up for a 4 month deal. They sent a text when they were going to be out, then another that they would be here soon then the next thing we knew we received a notification that the service was completed. We were home and had the gate open and never saw anyone. Looked at the security camera and the guy just sprayed the front for literally 2 min and never came into the back. We called immediately and were told they were sorry and would have them come out within 3 bus days. Never had anyone come back within 4 bus. days. Very disappointed. read more

I have had the service for my lawn and trees for 2 years. Promised to have full green grass and leafy trees. After multiple seedings fertilizer etc. results were not obtained any better than just watering. Difficult to cancel with trained salespeople. read more

Think twice before you decide to use their tree service division. Left alone to trim a variety of 20+ year old trees, they removed (regardless of size and tree variety), all limbs below 8 feet. My LARGE Flowering Pear was trimmed so poorly it now looks something between a pop-up tree from a book and a Eucalyptus. They also removed other large limbs creating large openings in the center of this tree and stripped the branches so any future growth will be from the production of water spouts. Other trees throughout the complex were also poorly trimmed although not as blatantly bad. Tree trimming is an art and if not done properly can permanently disfigure and destroy the intergrity of a tree. While the arborist may be competent, it is up to him/her to direct and monitor the job. This was not done and of course one can not reattach severed limbs with super glue. We are not talking about too many cross branches being cut, but instead, multi-year growth wtih limbs 6-8 inches or more in diameter. If you wish a tree completely removed, these folks may do a good job, but if you wish your tree to have a good shape and be trimmed to promote proper growth, run in the other direction. Watch out. The deep tree fertilizing is done with no regard to irrigation and repairs have been ongoing. Difficult to communicate with. Never have same service person twice. Phone calls at 5 am to inform of service that day. Continually trying to schedule a specific day and it is desregarded. Do not show up when they say they will. read more

Had TrueGreen the past few months and the service could not be worse. The first service no notification so their guy only did my front lawn, and the second service the tech called the night before at 9:00pm to say he'd be over the next day at 7:00am. I ended up unlocking my gae in the rain so he could treat my front and back lawns as he stated. The tech arrived at 10:00am and if he did anything other than putting up TrueGreen signs I sincerely doubt it. I now have clover and oxalis that was not there before and there are now fungus spots on my lawn. I ended up calling to complain and cancel the service only to get the "area manager" to try his sales pitch. I was told that he would re-apply something and refund the two services already done and that was 5/14/19 and 11 days later and two calls later nothing has been done. Today, I lost it and called the "area manager "again with no return call so I called corporate and complained again and told them to CANCEL the service. Again, it was not an enjoyable task as the person on the phone tried their best to either not understand the problems and then tried to talk me into not canceling. I canceled and now am awaiting the refund for the remaining 2 services. I would NOT do business with these people if they paid me to do so. I had them take care of my lawn for 1 year because I had some weeds that I thought they would be better capable to get rid of. The weeds are now far worse and the lawn has never look this bad. I've had them come back to re-treat the lawn but it hasn't helped. Watching the technician on the last call back, he spent no more than 5 minutes on the lawn. I now fertilize and use weed killer myself and the lawn hasn't looked this good since before Trugreen started taking care of it. Trugreen is one of the biggest scams going. BUYER BEWARE!!!! DO NOT I wish I could use negative stars! I have never written a review on the internet but found this was just too bad a company to make other commoners aware! This is one of the worst companies I have ever seen or used! They are a fraud! It started with Chad, a sales manager, coming out and "threatening" about how bad our lawn was. Actually, sod was just laid days prior too...it was as green and lush as it could come. We also just had trees and shrubs planted...all of which came from a very well known and expensive nursery. The plants too were planted only two days prior too. They looked awesome!! But yet Chad was using this scare tactic. Ok, I get it, its his style for a sales pitch. BUYER BEWARE of TruGreen - If you get Chad, run away as fast as you can! This company needs to be investigated by the Consumer Affairs Division in the state of California - Chad lied on what services TruGreen can / can not provide for services, even though its written in contract. - My contract states that I can call a "service number" and they will have someone out here within 3 days. They now state they have put in a service request in which they will have someone respond to us, in a phone call about our weed problem within 3 days / 72 hours. I stated I just need someone to come out and spray. She stated this is their "new policy". I asked how long will it take to get someone out here to spray. Her response was it could take up to 10-15 business days to have someone on site. This is just crazy! Almost a month to get someone on site! This is just a way to cut down on their costs and annoy paying customers so they don't call again. - Their written contract states a number of things they will complete. They have yet to complete them. I have had the service since May of 2013!! - I have called a number of times (7 times at last count) and asked to speak to a manager. Never once have I received a call back! - Every time we call, and state our problem, they always state "we don't provide service for that type of problem or weed". Crazy!! Again, I have it explicitly stated in my contract both written and typed on what service they will provide and for what! - Have called a number of times to cancel this service - they have repeatedly charged my credit card. I have a letter sent by this company stating they have cancelled my service, but continue to charge my credit card. So, if anyone else is experiencing this, do what we did; call your credit card company and reverse every single credit card charge that TruGreen has ever charge to your card or for the past XX amount of months. This will get their attention. That what was funny is that they never even responded to the credit card company for a response. I was refunded my money. - When one service session was finally completed, I asked that I wanted to be home to watch what they do. They set up a date/time. They showed up the day before and left some receipt stating what they did. We had workers in the yard that day and they stated that the TruGreen rep got out of his truck, printed a receipt, left it on our door and placed a "freshly sprayed TruGreen sign" on our lawn. The workers who were working on the yard laughed as they did not spray anything. Well, come to find out, when we looked at the receipt it showed they had "completed their work". When called numerous times about this taking place, no manager or service rep returned my call. This then happened when I scheduled another call; same scenario. Date/time set up so I could be there. They did not show up that day, but the following day when we were not home. Again, another receipt was left stated service was completed. I can not validate if they did/did not complete the service. This is very shady and they do not like people watching over their shoulders!! There is probably a reason for this!! - Customer Services Reps are very rude!!! - Bottom line. BUYER BEWARE!!! This company is not providing the services they "sold us" and "told us in written" that they would provide. This company is a fraud!!
