Wow! I can't even explain how grateful I am for such an unbelievable experience. I got stranded in Murrieta from San Diego. The spark plug of my Honda Civic shot out & completely stopped my car. Not a big deal, get a new spark plug & coil pack...or so I thought. By the time the tow service got me, I only had 2 hours before auto zone closed. My boyfriend's brother who is a mechanic in Fresno, walked us through the process of doing this "quick fix" --after following step by step instructions via FaceTime, my car still wouldn't start. I had to leave my car behind get a hotel & my entire night was filled with anxiety & uncertainty. After calling 80% of the mechanics on Yelp in the Murrieta area, I was referred to Trumotive (which didnt pop up on my initial yelp search). Em (the owner I believe) took my call & after explaining my ordeal, gave me a diagnostic & told me to bring it in. After checking out my car, Em's true expertise on Honda's was proven. He's initial diagnostic was right! I don't recall if it was due to time commitment or tooling but he wasn't able to perform he job but referred me over to the next mechanic shop who happened to specialize in the work I needed. Man, I don't even know where to begin... let's just say I owe a ton to Em and his team. I had a 99 Honda Prelude that to say the least needed some work. I had just gotten it, so I had done all the basic tuneups and maintenance outside of the timing belt and everything in it, as I don't have the time, space, or equipment for that in my garage. So I asked around my knowledgeable car guy friends on a good local shop that's aftermarket/tuner/import friendly, especially on Hondas, (since Temecula is all about hot rods) and I got told about Trumotive. Took it to his shop, and got it done with all Honda OEM parts at a reasonable price and speedy service. Well, tragedy struck shortly after and my motor blew on my way to work, most likely because I was starting to see signs that this was not a well kept car, and the stock motor finally gave out despite my maintenance efforts. Having just spent the amount it costs for a massive job like a full timing belt service, along with the fact that I was in a financially hard time having recently wrecked a car at the track, I was hurting. Em understood that, and hooked me up with a replacement motor at a price that couldn't be beat, along doing other things along the way like the steering rack. Unfortunately, tragedy struck again on that motor, but Em fought tooth and nail on the motor suppliers to make it right, and got me going on the road again with a good motor. Throughout the whole time, he kept me updated on what was going on, and what/when to expect. Fast forward, I now have a reliable Prelude thanks to Em and the team's hard work and persistence. If this was another shop, I'm sure I would have been turned away as a basketcase of problems. But Em is different; he doesn't just see you as a turnstile customer to get in and out like a revolving door of money; he does what he can and goes above and beyond, and even stays in touch afterwards to make sure you're still good. He goes so above and beyond I'm not even sure I should share because it might create false expectations; that's how good his service is. He doesn't just treat you like a customer, does the job, and sends you out the door; he keeps in touch, sees eye-level with you and your car, and makes sure everything is right. Needless to say, I will be taking all my Hondas to Em now, and I have already recommended and have had others take their car to him as well. When it comes to choosing a mechanic, you always question their authenticity versus their desires for profits; if they just want your money as soon as possible and push you out the door as soon as it's done. I was referred to Em from a good friend in the car business .... says he's fair and knowledgeable and honest. I just recently picked up an S2000 with 112,000 miles so I knew it needed a once over with fluids/filters/belts as a minimum. He found several other wear/tear issues while he looked at the undercarriage. He asked me to stop by and look so I know what's being recommended and needs replacement. I appreciated this as this is what a customer should see vs just being told it's gonna cost $$$. I took his advice and approved the necessary items. Boy, am I ever thankful that a friend recommended Em Tran (owner & technician) to me! A fuel injector on my 2015 Chevy Tahoe went out. I called the dealership and the cost of the repair was insane. So, I had a mobile mechanic come out to my house to take a look. He advised me that he could not do the repair because it would require a special tool. By this time I had been without my car for 4 days! I called a friend of mine who is a technician. He told me about his friends new shop and recommended I take my Tahoe there. By that afternoon my Tahoe was already in the shop and the part was ordered. The repair did not require a special tool for the repair and my car was finished by 10AM the following day! Not sure if the mobile tech just didn't want to do the job or not.
