Decided to try this place since I was in the area and it seemed like a pretty popular place, especially when it first opened. I tried their butterfly pea tea latte. I was a little underwhelmed by the drink. The tea flavor was weak and the drink itself came with a lot of add-ins that weren't mentioned on the menu. One of the add ins had almost no flavor and I had no clue what it was - a white cube shaped crunchy something. But I'm pretty sure it had grass jelly as one of the add-ins, which I didn't mind. Also, the drink looked nothing like the image on the menu. Overall, didn't seem worth $7 - especially seeing how much you get with no ice, but if the tea itself were a bit stronger and more flavorful, could be worth it with the add-ins. I would like to come back though and try one of their coffees. The barista was really friendly and explained the concept of phin coffee to me - so I would like to try that. I've ordered here three times so far and each time I ordered by app. The orders were filled quickly and pickup was easy. I've tried the banana matcha latte with oatmilk twice and the matcha coconut with added pandan foam. The drinks were all delicious with high quality matcha, no bitter taste. The banana wasn't too sweet either time and the flavors were consistent since the first time I tried was during the grand opening. The pandan complemented the matcha and coconut flavor and was refreshing on a hot day. You also have to try the cookies! They are huge and dense and the black sesame is my favorite. The space is small but always packed so I recommend ordering online. I also noticed this morning that they had pastries and kolaches that I'll need to try on my next visit! read more

Trung was extremely packed on a Saturday afternoon, but fortunately, my friend and I found seating, and parking was plentiful! Even at 100% sugar, my drink wasn't overwhelmingly sweet at all! You can definitely taste the matcha & it paired sooo well with the pandan cream (you'll have to add that to the order btw). Also, a big shout-out to Trung Nguyen Cafe for NOT charging extra for oat milk, that's rare nowadays. I like how they whisk the matcha in front of you as well, it's always a good indicator of quality when cafes don't use premade matcha hehe. read more

Really impressed by this coffee shop! We had heard of this place in Chinatown but was pleasantly surprised to see it in Katy as well. The shop is pretty small and can get crowded pretty quickly, we did go on a weekend. However the service was very quick and we got our drinks within 5min. I like how there's also a screen to know when your drink order is ready. We got the egg cream coffee and it was fantastic. Really strong bold coffee flavor, super sweet and thick egg cream. Stopped by Trung Nguyen Coffee and tried the Coconut Cream Phin Coffee and the ube coffee. Both were really good! The coconut cream was smooth and creamy, while the coffee still had a nice strong flavor. The ube coffee was not too sweet with ube cream, but still very delicious. Walked in today at about 12:15pm and ordered at the kiosk. - 2 Coconut Cream Phin Coffee - 1 Sweet Corn Cream White Phin When they called my name for the order, I was confused. That was not my order, and there was nobody else with my name. I told them that this wasn't my order. I saw the sweet corn phin (NOT WHITE), black sesame phin, and just black coffee. Mind you, I didn't even touch these options at all at the kiosk. They were discussing it among them, and the staff looked confused. The entire order was wrong, and the kiosk must've glitched because the next barista brought my sweet corn white phin immediately, then one of the coconuts. I assumed that they were going to make the coconut cream phin, after talking to the girl. While waiting, a guy came and asked us what we were waiting on and I said that we didn't order the black sesame phin and that we were waiting on the coconut. He told me that he has to charge us 50% of the drink to remake it. Now, I was upset. I am not paying extra for a mistake that the system made. We said that we never ordered the black sesame. Yet he still tried to push it. I hate that I had to be assertive, but this is a simple issue that could've been resolved. The system messed up, just remake it. Also, it seems that one of his colleagues were already making it, and he didn't even ask his peers to see what was going on before pushing the matter with me. I usually frequent the Bellaire location and never had an issue like this at all. The customer service here was terrible. read more

Compare to their Chinatown Houston location, it's just as small with limited seats/tables but they do have some seats outside. Lychee rose matcha latte is just as good as their Houston location. I got 30% less sweet so it was just enough sweetness from their lychee rose. Downside is their straw was too small so I couldn't get any strawberries on the bottom. Less crowded in Katy but could be the timing and they just opened yesterday (soft opening was Friday, April 24, 2026). Good amount of parking, for now. The Matcha banana latte was very good, flavors were still sweet when asking less sweet meaning that I recommend everyone to get less sweet for those that don't drink too many sweets. Another great addition to Katy Asian Town. Pros: The coffee here is so good. I love Vietnamese coffee and this was perfection. I already want to come back to try more of their coffee options and some of the matcha drinks too. The inside is also really pretty and aesthetically pleasing. Customer service was friendly and even though they were fairly busy, the wait wasn't too long. Cons: The place is really small, so it can feel cramped pretty quickly. There is seating inside, but it's very limited and fills up fast. The cookies looked really good, but unfortunately they were dry and tasted stale even with them warming it. My husband got a hibiscus tea and neither of us liked it. It tasted too sweet and syrupy. Overall, still a pretty good experience. I'll definitely come back, but next time I'm sticking to the coffee and probably trying the matcha while skipping the other stuff. read more

I recently fell in love with the Bellaire location and decided to give the new one in Katy a try, and am happy to report that it's just as good! - Phin Coffee: You literally can't go wrong with ordering any of their Phin drinks with cream. Their phin coffee is extremely strong and bitter, almost having a chocolate taste to it. Mixed that with one of their sweet creams and you have a perfectly balanced drink. On this day, we tried two of their cream flavors. - Egg Cream Phin Coffee (5/5): My friend and I agreed that this was by far the best. The egg cream reminded me of egg custard but had a very light texture. The cream wasn't too overwhelming, which made it easy to enjoy both the strong coffee flavor and the egg cream. I like my coffee not too crazy sweet, and I found this coffee to be the perfect amount of sweetness. - Pandan Cream Phin Coffee (4.5/5): I was blown away by how strong the pandan flavor was in this drink. The taste reminded me a bit of coconut, and it paired well with the coffee. It did taste a bit sweeter than the egg cream one, but we still enjoyed this drink. - Sizing: we ordered a large for the Pandan drink and from the pictures you can see that there isn't much of a size difference between the large and medium. My top favorite is the blueberry (right amount of sweet & gentle burst of flavor) & lychee (sweet & light on the tart flavor, literally how a lychee would taste; loved it combined with rose) , The Mango, strawberry & coconut ( both coconut matcha drinks) are also good. Coffee -- Oh man! They have that strong, strong stuff. If you are looking for a coffee to get you going in the morning, here is the place to go! So far I've tried the Egg crème phin, corn crème phin & sea salt crème white coffee. They have all definitely kept me up and going lol.
