Our partial remodel turned into a total home remodel including leveling floors and vaulting the ceilings.  Michael was flexible and open throughout the process and willing to incorporate all of our changes as the remodel progressed.  We are very thankful for his attention to detail, his practical suggestions to design and providing top notch quality work.  Michael has a great team.  We were very happy with his choice of electrician (Eric), plumber (Chris) and painter (Edgar), who were all very flexible, professional, and reliable.  All subcontractors were highly experienced and we felt confident their work would pass all inspections and exceeded our standards.  We are also very happy with his team who worked at the house every day.  They not only did an amazing job but were also very respectful to us as the homeowners.  The care they showed was as if they were working on their own home.  We were equally confident and impressed with all of Jake's skills including tile work, framing, deck work and all of the finishing touches inside the house. They were much more reasonably-priced than other contractors--who we couldn't afford at all--so we were wary about the old saying, "You get what you pay for" when we first hired them. Much to our relief, contractor/owner Mike and his crew delivered. They've always been very professional and efficient and they cleaned up after they were done. Mike's friendly and laid-back demeanor belies the fact that he is very organized and is juggling a million details all at once, stretched over multiple different job sites. Kurt's level of care and commitment is simply unparalleled, and his work shows the highest levels of experience and skill. He is very passionate about his work and a true artist in his field. Moreover, he is an extremely nice guy, and his rates are very competitive. Duval Tile & Stone recently tiled the entryway to our townhome in Wailea as well as a very large lanai in the back of our unit. When our unit was built in 2007, the cement pads laid by the builder were not level or "square", and over the years hairline cracks had developed in the cement. To ensure that the new porcelain tile that Kurt was installing for us would be level and resistent to developing cracks in the future, he had to do a significant amount of remedial work to level the cement pads and seal all existing cracks before laying any new tile. The best part about hiring Duval Tile & Stone is that the owner, Kurt Duval, actually does all of the tile work himself. Typically, you will only see the owner of a tile company two times: 1) when you get the initial bid, and 2) when you give him the final payment. That is definitely not the case with Kurt Duval. He is on the worksite EVERY DAY, doing all of the work himself. Why? Because he wants the job done right! Kurt's work ethic is truly amazing in this day and age! So, how did it all turn out? Well, Kurt did a wonderful job in installing all of the tiles. And, by the way, everyday he left the worksite neat and clean.
