    Southern Exposure Sunrooms

I read the reviews here on Yelp today in regard to Southern Exposure Sunrooms. We purchased a glass…read moreenclosed sunporch from Southern Exposure 7-8 years ago. We are still 100% satisfied with it. Our sales process, installation process and follow up service (twice in 7 years) has been nothing short of great service. We have always gotten fast responses to calls. Recently, May, April, 2026, we called them for service help with our sliding door coming off the track. They were as courteous and helpful as I remembered in responding to my service call. Nick, the service technician scheduled a visit. He arrived, as scheduled. He was very respectful, cordial and professional. He made some adjustments and told me to call back if any further issues with the sliding door. It worked somewhat well for a couple of days but on the 3rd day, it rode off the track completely. I called Nick back right away. He came back within a day. He changed and reset the track. The door is now working like a brand new sliding door. We were very satisfied with the service that Nick provided. He represented the Southern Exposure Sunrooms company in an exemplary manner. There was a service charge for coming out but it was worth it. I highly recommend this company if you are considering a sunroom or sunroom repairs. We have recommended them to many friends without issues. They have been in Leland, NC for many years. ~S. Waleed of Waterford

Our home was built in 2018 and we purchased it in 2024. We have a sunroom attached to the house and…read morewe wanted to add heating/cooling to it. We discovered that the sunroom was never permitted. In digging further we found that Southern Exposure built the room in 2019 but never got a permit from the County. When asked they claimed things were different in 2019 than now. You need to obtain a permit when altering home square footage no matter what. We had to have them tear the whole thing down, obtain a permit and then rebuild it up to code which they charged us for (they charged us $300 per outlet, in addition to the labor and rebuild). Their communication was horrible, they did not notify us when an inspection was to take place so we weren't home. The installation crew was slow and sloppy. My husband asked if we should cover the floor of the sunroom to keep it from getting scratched and was told not necessary. We quickly realized that a cover was needed when they left their work area with all kinds of discarded materials and equipment. They also left a large hole in the corner which we realized when a salamander came running through the room the night after they finished. My husband fixed the hole with caulking. They also damaged one of the shades in the room while taking it down. I again should mention their communication was atrocious. We had to contact them on several occasions just asking about the status of the job when they told us we would get a call. It was like they wanted to blow us off because they knew they should have followed the correct procedure in the beginning. That is the reason for the low score.
