I worked with Dr. Daniel for about 2.5 years as I was getting sick too often with colds and flus…read more Instead of improving my immune system, it got dramatically worse and my overall health and fitness degraded a lot. Dr. Daniel did a lot of pricy and questionable testing and put me on 41 pills a day of either supplements or prescription medicine. I developed a concerning medical condition I'd never had before that made me feel sicker than ever, requiring me to stop eating many foods, and made me so fatigued, all I could do was lie on the couch most days for months. It was miserable. I finally got fed up with her after the second time she raised her prices significantly during the pandemic and fired her. I had spent tens of thousands of dollars on her appointments, testing and supplements. I immediately went off of everything she had prescribed and felt so much better within two weeks. My health has been just fine since I stopped following her advice 18 months ago. She may have a lot of five-star Yelp reviews but read them closely - few mention good medical outcomes from working with Dr. Daniel. That's because she gives her patients a discount on supplements in exchange for Yelp reviews which they write at the beginning of their treatment before they have any outcomes. This practice is unethical and should be illegal. Note to Dr. Daniel: When you attempt to rebut my review, be sure not to violate HIPAA.

Excellent doctor; disappointing practice…read more First of all, Dr. Daniel is extraordinary: extremely well-informed, profound, compassionate, and caring. Working with her had an incredibly positive effect on my health and well-being and I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her, and get back to optimal health. However, there have been recent changes to the practice that feel de-humanizing. Today, in the midst of a pandemic, I tried to log in to ask a question or make a short appointment, and was told my account was "inactive" as I had not had an appointment in a year. I called to see if I could ask Dr. Daniel, a doctor I really trust, a question or make an appointment, and Jason/Jonathan called me to tell me that I was no longer a patient, and the practice was not accepting new patients. I told him I'd been a patient since 2015, and asked him how I could make an appointment, or ask Dr. Daniel a question, and he said I would need to go online and read about my options, that who knows if I could be seen again, but that I might be a "level 2" or "level 3. " When I asked him what that meant, he said I should go online. As a longtime patient, a mother, and a scientist, I felt hurt and disrespected by this de-humanizing interaction. It seemed that the rug had been swept out from under my feet - I was booted from the practice because I felt well and hadn't had an appointment in a year. These new policies, and the interaction with Jason/Jonathan were the exact opposite of my previous experience with Dr. Daniels (warm, humanizing, caring). He left me with no other option than to seek other care.

"There" is bringing her the stories and thoughts that I don't share with my friends or family. "There" is living out an on-going grieving process for my father, ambitions for my life, disappointment in relationships, stresses in career, existential angst about death, etc. And when I'm "there", Clare is walking me through it all with no judgment, and riding my emotions alongside me. Once I'm done getting it all out, she'll help me unpack the message and we'll come back from "there" to "here", together. "Here" is where Clare encourages me to be, even when I don't want to believe it. "Here" is where I'm compassionate to myself, others and living in flow. That's $17 I overpaid per visit. I did raise the matter with Bonnie and also with Truth. Bonnie replied she didn't understand what I was saying. Truth responded with a diatribe down a rabbit-hole about how difficult and horrible it was to have to deal with insurance companies. My question about billing was not ever addressed directly as just good business. Rather, I felt shamed to even bring up any such matter. My last visit there was 3 years ago. Have I ever written letter of inquiry? Admittedly I have not. Have I ever conducted a through accounting of checks written matched and compared to Explanation of Benefits? Hum, I started then stopped not having the stomach to continue.

I went back to Lilo and she welcomed me with open arms and it felt so good. They worked to manage my meds very hard and when I emailed them, they, or someone from the office, would email or call me back in about 30 minutes or less. I think I have been seeing them for my meds for 6 or 7 years and I fully recommend them. Simon is the behind the scenes man that runs the TMS machines that will help relax, bipolar, PTSD, paranoid, schizophrenia, effective disorder, anxiety, depression and many other mood disorders. She explained that it only works 60% of the time and I would have to come 5 times a week for six weeks. She said it would be most effective if I am consistent and don't take breaks. I cleared my calendar and committed to the treatments. Halfway through, without notice or explanation, she told me she would be gone for a month. I told her I had committed to this time and she said only that "it couldn't be helped." I asked if someone could cover her and she said "no." We would resume when she came back and she would add extra sessions. I told her I had already made other plans and she just shrugged and repeated "it couldn't be helped ." Clearly, her time was more valuable than mine and, as a patient, I came second. I've never known any doctor, especially a mental health doctor, who didn't have a backup in case of emergency and would abandon a depressed patient. We finished treatment and it didn't help me at all. She said she didn't know if it was because of the break or if I was part of the 40% who didn't respond. She said we could wait a while and start over without any breaks and i said "no thanks." It would mean another huge commitment of time for me and more income for her. I found her practice to be very unprofessional bordering on malpractice and would not recommend her.

Dr Robin is a shining example in my mind why we should NOT dismiss or poo poo life coaches and healers just because they aren't LCSW/PhDs/PsyD's or whatever qualification you feel is legit, and how "trained and qualified" individuals, such as Dr Robin (who is a PhD) can truly cause great harm.
