The tv remote control (AMAZON FIRESTICK) no longer enables the viewer to mute the sound or increase or decrease the volume. Amazon was working with my wife and I to correct the situation. We were instructed to disconnect the firestick. In the process of doing that we accidentally disconnected the cable. We ARE IN OUR 80s and the tv is attached to the wall. It is no easy task to find the correct connection point. We have called Truvista and were told the service call would be $50.00 to connect the cable. This is the kind of predatory overcharging that older adults can expect when businesses are free from competition and occupy monopoly status. read more

Would rate this company 0 stars if I could. To monopolize small counties to not allow competition in should be a crime especially when they only offer service equivalent to 90's dial up with constant interruptions at a low low price of 90$ for 30mb upload speed is a big ass joke. I have more interruptions since the ice storm in February. It has been over a month now. I have had TruVista come out two or three times. Each time they say " I can't find anything wrong". This has not changed in 20+ years. It's time to go to the city council to kick these crooks out of town! Apparently by reading all the bad reviews someone mentioned that AT&T is now available in the area. So if you live in Chester County or about to move here, go with AT&T asap. Also T-Mobile 5g home internet is available. 467 times better than UnTruVista's Unreliable service! UPDATE! Just got T-Mobile 5g home internet as AT&T was not available in the area until sometime this summer and it ROCKS! No interruptions and decent speeds at 50$ a month. I can play Online games without issues. You also may get a 300$ like I did that can be used to pay TruVista's ridiculous cancellation fee. We have had multiple issues with our service in Chester, SC. We are plagued with constant service outages. We are paying for phone, internet and security monitoring that works "most" of the time. You would think they would want to take care of their customers of over 27 years. This company has the attitude of a monopoly since they have no competition. They had to install a new underground line to our house because the old line was only installed 2" underground. The new line is actually visible above ground in a couple of spots. They blame this issue on their contractor. I blame them since they do not quality check behind their contractors. If we had another option for these services we would jump all over it. read more

Worst service I've ever had. AT&T just put a tower up, go with them. It's $70 cheaper too. Truvista charges me $131 for internet that barely works. Have to turn the wifi off on my phone and use data to get anything to load. I call for maintenance (because it never works) it takes them 10 minutes to find my account. And it still doesn't work. So glad AT&T came and is giving them some competition. Maybe they'll step it up now, but I won't be a customer to find out read more

If there was another choice, I would be using it. Friends say that the other options in our rural area are not as dependable/fast and our daughter needs internet for college courses. However, we have had problems with connectivity -- replacement of modems every year or two, wiring at the pole done incorrectly, etc. The billing issues have been the last straw. Our last 3 billings have come as "overdue" with charges, yet we have taken the cancelled check to the office each time to show that it was deposited by the due date. This last month it took 13 days to process the check from the time it was received until the check was deposited. Not my fault that it took that long for TV employees to process. As long as my payment is in by the due date, I should not be having these issues. Perhaps this "technology" company should go back to the old manual rubber-stamps to ensure my check is properly marked Date Received?!?!? read more

TruVista was a decent internet provider til they came out with their new "high speed" plans. Now my 25Mbps service is running from .2-3 Mbps :-(. I would not buy til they get this figured out. read more

Been a customer for over 7 years. Don't have a choice, no other providers will come into the territory, so they have license to charge ultra-preminum rates for the absolute worst service I've ever encountered. $200+ for 1Gig fiber optic internet is just crazy...any other provider is charging less than half of that..and to make matters worse, the service is down more than it is up, which is causing all kinds of problems for this work from home disabled customer. Not only are they charging ridiculously high rates, they charged me almost $75 on this months bill for service I no longer have, telling me it will be credited back to me next month...B.S. TruVista is hands down the WORST company I've ever dealt with. It's almost laughable how bad it is... We pay $140.90/mo for local only TV (that we can get for free with an antenna) and just 50 mgps internet speeds. Our internet goes out almost weekly. I've called customer service each week for the last 3 weeks. TruVista is so bad that my wife and I have considered moving to escape this horrible, price gouging company. Poor internet service. The cable is adequate. However the further out from Chester you get, the worst the internet speed and internet reliability gets. During certain times of day, the internet will just not work. Unfortunately, truvista is the only cable/ internet available to the citizens of Chester County. read more

Among the most archaic systems available. You will get sold a bundle that includes TV, internet and land line phone. Yes, they still put them in homes. You'll sign a 2 year contract. And when you find out on day 2 how archaic system is, and how limited your channels, you'll then discover they charge $200 per line (yes, including the phone) to get out of their contract. Just got a $600 early termination bill for cancelling 4 months shy on a 2 year contract. Cancelled because I moved into an area that did not have TruVista service. They charge $200 early termination for each service in your bundle....even if one of those services is a $10/month landline. I spoke to two customer service reps. Even mentioned that I was planning on resuming TruVista service when I return to the area in 8 months (which is true but will not ever go back to them now). Got nothing, totally inflexible. Had an issue when I upgraded my service 18 months ago. For six months they billed me for my old service plus the new package. Each month when I called about the double billing they said it would be fixed the next month. When I asked if I could just write a check for the correct amount they said that if I didn't pay the (double) bill in full they would charge a late fee and possibly terminate my service. How did it get fixed after 6 months? I finally wrote a note on the back of the bill begging anyone to look into the issue. Some nice guy from billing or accounting actually called me back and said he would get them to fix it. And he did. Calling customer service at TruVista to get help with billing is like talking to a block of rock. read more

Reliable cable service, good telephone service, and fast reliable internet. I've had Truvista for almost two years with virtually no service interruptions, the one or two we experienced were quickly fixed. The customer service is excellent. I would give a 5 star rating except for the price. I signed up for a $69 bundle at no point did i get a bill for under $100. The bundled package of $164.99 is over $200 after taxes and fees. They are véry expensive. I'm seriously thinking about switching to a satellite company when my contract is up in January. read more

I was customer for several years. The service was never as fast as promised but I didn't have any other real choice. My DSL modem then quit working and I got a new one, but to get it I had to drive to Chester and they made me sign a two year contract. Less than a year after getting the new modem my internet service became unreliable and the phone line was unusable because of bad outside wiring. I complained but the problem was never fixed. After several months I got a satellite dish and service was 10x faster (I know use a Skype Internet phone), and it cheaper than DSL. Therefore I canceled my service. I told them I would returned their DSL modem and I thought that would get me out of my contract. However, despite all of this I got slapped with a $200 early termination fee (not to mention paying $70 a month for several months for inadequate and unreliable service until I finally canceled). I would not recommend this company under any circumstances. Get satellite TV/Internet instead. read more

TruVista is pretty much a monopoly in the Ridgeway-Chester area. They cut channels (currently don't have Nickelodeon, BET, MTV, Spike, AMC, FX, and many others) even though my service hasn't changed. Their internet isn't any better, with slow speeds for an outrageous price, I supposedly get 10/MBps yet I can't even stream a video on Netflix and have problems doing the same on YouTube. Not to mention the heavy restrictions. I pay about $115 a month (this is after their promo price of $70 wears off) for bare minimum cable and internet. Before getting this, I'd make absolutely sure you can't get anything else. read more
