They buy used cars at auction and can sell for cheaper. That is all you are getting from TruWorth in Carmel. I purchased a Volvo S60. The salesmen don't know anything about the cars except what you can read on the internet and what they may have read on a brochure. When I bought my car it had 2 key fobs. One did not work. Grant, the General Manger, stepped in and told me three solutions: 1. Keys are too close together 2. Keys were in valet mode 3. get them reprogrammed at Tom Wood Volvo. I tried all of his solutions. Tom Wood Volvo informed me the second key fob wasn't even to the car I purchased. I took the key fob back to TruWorth on Friday, Nov. 29th. Grant, the General Manager, took my key fob and said he would get back to me on Monday or Tuesday. Grant, the General Manager, never got back to me. I reached out via 13 texts, 4 phone calls, and 2 in person visits with a 31 business day period. I do feel bad for the other employees who have to cover for Grant, the General Manager. He was either busy, "would get back to me", or out of the office. All I wanted was the second key because with a Volvo you have to have both keys to use some of the remote and app features, like remote start. After I contacted the Better Business Bureau magically Grant touched base. He let me know he had 7 other cars in the same situation as mine. I respectfully told him, I only care about my car. There is a problem with an attention to detail if 7 others are facing the same issue. The following day I went to Tom Wood Volvo and they had a key in stock. They had keys in stock the entire time, but TruWorth refused to acknowledge this, because they needed to again buy key fobs in bulk and not just one key fob. So, if you want lack of attention to detail, no communication, and zero customer service see Grant, the General Manager, at TruWorth. I read through the reviews but noticed most of them are in regards to buying cars and also the people reviewing do not really have a lot of reviews so it's strange they took the time to write one really negative review. I can't speak to the buying process as they came up as an option to sell when I priced my vehicle through Kelly blue book. They were quite easy to work with and I interacted with several people, Ash, Chris, and Grant. Grant also explained to me that if you sell them a car that is a 2017 or newer, they split the profit of selling the car with the client. Who does that?! He said they have given over three million back to their clients. We purchased a used car from TruWorth Auto from Jason for my son that just graduated college and needed a car to start his career. We purchased a $5200 2011 Honda Accord and less than 7 days later the axle broke and we were left sinking more money into the automobile. The only good experience was the purchase process, which was quick but everything outside of that was a wreck. I contacted the dealership to determine if there was anything that could be done and never got a chance to speak with the General Manager Grant Hourigan but finally got to speak with Ash. Ash gave me the background of how their cars are sold as-is without them ever inspecting or mechanically looking over the vehicle. Nissan dealership said that they went into the car cleared the codes and did a bunch of stuff to make sure I could drive the car off the lot but nothing to fix the major problems it already had. read more

I found TruWorth Auto using Car Gurus and was very impressed with the whole process. I talked to Tharon via phone and text and he was super responsive. I was able to come in and test drive the car I wanted to buy, within 15 minutes of arriving! This was a pleasant surprise compared to all the other dealers I visited, that took 30 minutes, at least, to get in a car. The car I test drove, and eventually ended up buying, was exactly as described and shown in the pictures. The SUV was super clean since they had it detailed. I enjoyed not having to argue over price and no extra hidden fees is a pleasant surprise. Getting my car financed was a breeze and look only about 30 minutes! Best car purchase experience Ive ever had, Devin, Jake, and Grant were more then helpful. My old car broke down and it was time to get a new car. Shopped in Ft Wayne and test drove a vehicle I liked. Searched internet for other colors/options. Found everything I wanted but was located in Carmel which was at least 3 hours away and they would be closed by then. Talked to Devin & Jake and told them Ill be down Monday to check the car out and all were super helpful and got me in the car I wanted, price I wanted, and loan option that I wanted. All employees were extremely curtious and professional, I also noticed everyone had smiles on their face and was a very inviting atmosphere... and you cant forget the extremely friendly dog too. On September 27, 2025, I purchased a vehicle from Truworth Auto that was advertised on their website. During the sale, my partner and I worked with a salesman named Jason. We were told the company prided itself on integrity, but our experience did not reflect that. Before purchasing, we noticed the key fob was not working. Jason said it "just needed a new battery" and went to replace it. We decided to proceed with the purchase. While reviewing the paperwork, I noticed two membership plans--a $1,000 tire plan and a $1,000 key fob replacement plan--had been added without prior discussion. When I questioned them, Jason insisted they were valuable and convinced us to keep them. After getting home, we discovered the key fob still did not work and, upon inspection, did not even have a battery installed. When I called Truworth, I was told it was my problem since the sale was complete. I purchased a new battery myself, but the fob was defective. Truworth was supposed to provide two working key fobs, but I only received one defective one. When I called about the replacement program, I was told I could not file a claim for 30 days. After that period, I learned the program only replaces fobs if they are lost, I am stranded and the car is towed to a specific location, which was never disclosed verbally or in writing. I later spoke with a manager who admitted he was unaware of the program's process and said he would speak to the general manager and call me back--but he never did. If I could give this place no stars I would. I cannot set the alarm on my car, and on top of everything, the check engine light came on a week later. I got an inspection done before I purchased the vehicle and was told it was in great condition. Maybe I should not have taken it to the auto shop that Jason recommended. I bought a truck from them with 67K miles that was supposed to have been thoroughly inspected. Three days. (100 miles) later it was hard to start I think it is a fuel pu issue. The wipers won't work on intermittent and 4 wheel drive won't shift to (4-wheel drive). They emphasized it was no warranty on their vehIckes unless you wanted to purchase a separate one it is the last vehicle that I will ever buy from them. In April my beloved car, which had a long service life, completely died and was not fixable. So naturally I needed a new car. My father and I looked at several dealerships and after reading reviews we decided to go with true Worth Auto. We test drove several cars and found two cars that I was trying to decide between. After talking with the sales rep he guided me towards a 2010 Honda Odyssey. He told me multiple times that this car was in perfect working order, had recently been tuned up, and the only thing wrong with it was it needed tires. He told me as long as I took care of it it would last me many years. We got the warranty that way if anything went wrong I was covered. Not even 6 months later I was driving my kids to school and every single light on the dashboard lit up the car started making a weird sound and then it just died. I called and got a tow and took it to a repair shop. The problem seemed to be an oil leak that the dealer did not tell me about, had leaked onto the alternator which then in turn leaked on to the battery. On top of that there was also a power steering fluid leak. I called the dealership they give me the number to the warranty people. I called the warranty people, who basically told me it wasn't their problem. That they were going to cover anything, I should have read the warranty better even though this all had to do with the engine which is covered in the warranty they're not covering it. I call the dealership, which I was a little upset when I did, and after explaining to him that the car that he sold me that he said was in perfect working order, could have nearly got me killed and my children killed he hung up on me. Upset, but still needing a car, I put $4,700 into these repairs. I get the car back and not a week later all the lights are coming on again on the dashboard and the car is making a rattling noise and freaking out. Take it back to the mechanic who tells me that this car has never had a tune-up in its life. Odds are it's never seen a mechanic before the last time I did it. After fixing it the second time I've had it back for a little more than a week, and yesterday the lights on my Dash started coming on again. Now my engine light is on and it sounds like my serpentine belt is going out. I was sold a lemon that this dealer knew was no good. I was lied to, I was cheated, I was sold a warranty that they never had any intention of upholding. They sold me a death trap and couldn't care less. read more

They will tell you almost anything to satisfy you. I was told my credit would only be ran once, but that was a lie (and my credit is excellent). I incurred 3 hard pulls on said day. Additionally when my loan came through my bank my down payment ($1000) was not applied. After snuffling through the paper work it was my mistake. In their defense I did sign for it. We sold our car to Truworth in December 2017. The initial transaction was great. We negotiated a comfortable selling price, were persuaded by the process and left the dealership with promises of communication and customer service. Our salesperson was Alan. Since we left the dealership, every step has been difficult. I've had to follow up or else there would not be communication. It took three weeks for our equity check to arrive. After I noticed the car was no longer listed on the website, I wrote to see if it sold. I was sent an email that no details were available and then no reply for a week. I am still waiting to hear back on the details of the sale. I'm not saying don't use Truworth, but be advised that communication and customer service is awful. This process would have been less stressful if Alan had cared at all about keeping us in the loop. For a business model that requires a partnership with the customer after the initial sale, a salesperson who knows how to follow up is the only way this model can be successful. read more

I said I wanted to finance with capital one and they are a Capital one approved dealership. They ran my credit through five Other companies attempting to beat capital ones offer. They were not approved by me to run my report thru any other Financial companies. They did not the beat capital ones offer and refused to fix their mistake. They told me I would have to take it up with each individual company they ran my credit through. Those companies said the dealership has to create the paper saying it was not authorized. Truworth then refused help me fix their error. They did however manage to beat down my credit score right before I wanted to refinance my house. read more

I bought a Suburban from them in March and I gave Robert the list of things I wanted in a car. I had an appointment in Fishers to buy one but had bought another car from truworth before and they were so nice so I gave them another try. I wanted 4 wheel drive, leather, sunroof, tow package and heated seats. He called me and told me he had exactly what I was looking for. I showed up and saw the most beautiful Suburban. I loved it. We took it on a test drive and it sounded very loud. I voiced my concern and he said it was the V8 engine winding down. I told him I had a V8 and mine didn't sound like that. I told him that I was taking my family (7year old daughter, husband and elderly mother) to Florida that next weekend and we were driving this if I bought it. He assured me it was a safe vehicle. He said it had been fully inspected and was in excellent condition. I told him I wanted that noice inspected again. I ended up buying it and as soon as I got home I noticed it didn't have 4 wheel drive. I immediately called them and spoke to Chip. He stated he would take care of it. I drive to Florida and couldn't hear myself think because it was so loud. I ended up taking it to another shop and they said there was a a two inch gap between my bearing hubs and we could have flipped on the highway!!!! I have left several messages for the general manager Scott Walker and still exactly 9 months later I still haven't had this problem resolved. They didn't even offer to buy my Suburban back so I could get something safe for my family. I am now to the point where I almost have no other option other than turn in all of my phone calls, voicemails, emails and texts and get a lawyer. I am slipping all over the road since it is rear wheel drive with my child. I carpool so I don't feel safe with the other kids either. My original purchase experience was very good - Tom Clark was very attentive. Unfortunately, Tom is not being supported by the rest of the team. This review is about the poor service provided post-purchase. At purchase, I added an extended warranty. When I sold the car 12 months later, I filed for a rebate on the extended warranty and received a check from TruWorth for $146.16 two months later. I followed up with a request, via TruWorth's contact site on their website, for an accounting showing how they arrived at that amount. After a month with no response, not even a call or email back. I sent an email to Tom Clark who indicated that he forwarded my email to the "Office Manager". Now, another month later, with no response, not even a call or email back, I have sent the following email to Tom and another TruWorth associate... "Tom: unfortunately, whomever you forwarded this to has not followed through. The service provided on this request has been incredibly poor. I am simply looking for a detailed reconciliation for how they arrived at paying me $146.16 when I cancelled my extended warranty after selling the car I bought at Truworth. I have now added Scott to the is email since I received a "Happy Birthday" email from him in January. I find it interesting that you still are reaching out to me as a potential customer, but are unwilling to provide any service following my previous purchase. I do not know with whom else I should talk and feel as though the company is hiding from the information, perhaps Truworth knows they calculated the payment incorrectly and is unwilling to expose that to me, the consumer. I've had the (stereo)typical experience with TWA, as with other dealerships/side lots. Dealing with "Mannie" at the Carmel lot, it actually started when I first called to see about TWA "buying" my SUV: he got my name wrong, and gave directions as if I knew where the lot is located (which I didn't). TWA is exactly like all the rest of their competitors (to quote another review, "TruWorth employees are con artists and every used car salesman joke personified."); if its people are getting "cute" with the truth (if not telling outright lies), and do it with impunity, why would they feel a need to "improve"?! For instance, "Mannie" is just as soulless as a side lot salesman, told me to disregard the fact that the VIN# on the white Buyer's sheet in the window, was different than ON THE VEHICLE ITSELF (off by only 2 digits), and to just take it to the BMV and insurance company?!?! And when my insurance office asked for the correct VIN to be corrected on all of the paperwork, the sale rep kept texting me for the VIN # on the vehicle (WHICH WAS LOCATED ON 8 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS), WHICH THEY ALREADY HAD NOT ONLY SINCE THEY OBTAINED THE VEHICLE MONTHS AGO, BUT WHEN I TOLD THE REP ABOUT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PROCESS, DISMISSED IT WITH A MATTER-OF-FACT, WEAK "SOMEONE ENTERED THE VIN WRONG AND IT'S DIFFICULT TO CHANGE...?!?!" I sold my vehichle to Truworth Auto. The process I was told about in the dealership was then "changed" or "altered" after I sold my car to them. Let me explain: I spoke first with, Ryan Green, whom outlined the process of selling my care through their "shares program". I was told that TruWorth would send a payoff to my bank for X about of money and that I would not only get a) an equity check from the payoff of the car, but b) I would also get a share of the net proceeds from the sale. I decide to move forward and start working with Carval Lyons, whom outlines the very same process as Ryan Green. So, I decided to move forward. Fast forward two weeks (although at the signing table I was reassured payoff(s) are send "next-day" - they are not) I call my bank to check on the payoff and my 'suppoded' equity check. Come to find out that instead of sending the bank the amount I signed the sales contract for, they sent a lower amount (a difference of about 200$s). I call and speak with Ryan Green, where he pulls what appears to bear a bait and switch. He tells me that I was mistaken - despite asking multiple times. Ryan, now, tells me that my "equity check" only comes once they receive title - a detail that was never mention. Mortal of the story - this is just like ALL DEALERS. My experience with TruWorth is mixed. First my salesman, Mike McArdle was great, he was well informed, did not pressure or try to up sell. My experience with the finance department was positive. Their pricing model is nice and simple. The other portion of the story, I was told about an issue with the air suspension on the vehicle I was buying by TruWorth prior to purchase. They were upfront about this and it was an issue I was willing to manage since the Land Rover I was purchasing was notorious for those issues. However within a month of purchasing the car I was in the shop needing a new transmission and other unrelated suspension issues. Estimate was $11k. Although TruWorth has a service department they apparently do not do a full review of cars they take in on trade. Spoke with the sales manager about that fact, he offered to make me an offer to liquidate the vehicle at auction, but at this point I opted not to lose even more money. My suggestion to any buyer is spend the couple hundred dollars and have an independent garage take a look at a vehicle before you sign on the line. TruWorth should have known about the transmission issue and lower control arm (and if they did they never disclosed). read more

I posted my pristine Mini Cooper for sale on Craigslist and someone from TruWorth texted me saying they would make me an offer on my car. I was curious so I drove to their dealership and humored them. Ultimately, they offered me around $4000, basically an insult for a car such as mine. I politely turned down every low ball offer they threw at me with all the special deals or whatever. They also scoffed at me for telling them I could get a lot more money selling on Craigslist. We purchased a Yukon xl from them in 2016. We had it written into our purchase agreement that they would fix a broken back up camera on the vehicle as it's a huge safety hazard in a vehicle this large. Long story short, we had the vehicle in at least 5 maybe 6 times to many different shops. The camera would be fixed for 24 hours then shut off again. It was clearly an electrical problem. Our car alarm would go off randomly. Every annoying electrical issue you can imagine. The running boards immediately stopped working upon taking the car home. Well after 4 years ownership and frustration, we traded the vehicle in at another dealership. Come to find out the vehicle had been in three major accidents in which the airbags deployed. The dealership lied to our faces and claimed there was one minor accident. Don't take their word for it, do not purchase a vehicle from then without seeing the car fax with your own eyeballs. Didn't know we were dealing with complete liars. The car was nothing but problems for 4 years and TruWorth employees are con artists and every used car salesman joke personified. read more
