Not sure what the point of making an appointment is for if they don't acknowledge you until 15-20 min after you've pulled in. My oil change never takes less than 1-2 hours during the week, which is way too long. I appreciate the diagnostics they run but I'm not paying for something I can do myself, like a cabin filter, which is over priced. I understand that's how things work but I'll pass. read more

I made an appointment to test drive a car, but when we arrived the salesman acted as if I was the biggest inconvenience. He didn't say ANYTHING about the car, just walked up too it and stood there. I asked if I could drive it and he just slid into the backseat and said nothing. He only answered my questions with a single word, so I only did a small lap to get out of the car as soon as possible. Manager Joey is extremely rude and unapologetic. His accounting department made an error and when confronted with it he said, "I'm not going to do anything about it." That error has caused our acct to be overdrawn by over $2,000. We are incurring fees and Joey has said that it's our fault for "not working with us." I scheduled an appointment two days ago to get a new tire. Provided vehicle make, model, year, etc. Today I took time off work, went home to get my SUV, drove to Bill Estes service center, waited 15 minutes to get checked in only to find out they did not have the correct tire. The service tech asked how I had scheduled my appointment for service, and I told her I had called the number for "Bill Estes Service Center." She said, "Ohhhhh, that just goes to a call center, you should have called "parts" to make sure they actually had it in stock." I pointed out that the person I had spoken with took my vehicle information, and that I needed a replacement tire. But apparently that wasn't enough to ensure that the tire was actually available. A service tech called me the next day to advise they had the tire in that I needed. I set an appointment and returned to have it put on. The customer waiting area was nearly full, it is a large area and nearly every seat was taken. A busy day for sure. They kept the snack shelves full so there were chips and bars for the customers. My tire was installed, but it took two hours just to have one new tire installed. The service tech did apologize for the long wait, and he kept me updated throughout the time I spent there. read more

I have been coming to this location for regular service/oil changes for years, and I think the service has progressively gotten worse. When I first moved to Indy had a car of my own I was responsible for, I opted for the dealer because it made me feel more comfortable and I now believe there has to be a better option. For a while, I thought I could figure out how to play the game, but now I'm convinced I either really, really suck at playing or the game is just plain rigged against me. The things I like: Every time I've called, a nice woman has answered the phone and been very helpful. No hold times, no condescending, just polite understanding. The waiting room is large, plenty of space for folks to spread out and the chairs are comfy. Now, the bad: As a young woman at a mechanic, I just already feel defensive/ uncomfortable and prepared to be taken advantage of due to my naivete when it comes to cars and how much things should cost. I do feel pressured every time I come to spend money on things I'm not convinced are actually urgent or should cost as much as they do. For example, once I was transferred to parts and spoke to a man who told me a new SINGLE hubcap would be $110+. This is a plastic, snap-on part; I can order a pack of 4 for $60 on Amazon. I knew that seemed outrageous and the scheduler agreed with me. Once, at an oil change they had me schedule a separate recall appointment. When I came on a Saturday morning for that appointment, it had rained or snowed some and they said they couldn't do the recall fix with wet pavement... so I drove 30 minutes just to turn around again. When I came back on a dry day for the reschedule, I had been told I'd get a rental for free but then when I arrived, no one said a thing about a rental. The only outlets in the waiting room are directly under the TVs and there is no remote to turn off or turn down the volume. Just seems like a lot of messy communication, slow service, and high prices to keep justifying going back. read more

They don't seem to be taking masks and social distancing very seriously. Some employees wear masks some do not. They do not require customers to wear masks either. The waiting room seating has not been modified to allow for social distancing, seats are only 2-3 ft apart or right next to other seats. Lia was very friendly and helpful. I got my brake pads replaced and they seem to have done a good job on that. I just wish they'd take masks and social distancing more seriously. read more

I told him I can't leave my car here overnight so just skip that and do oil change. I was told my rear differential, transfer case, front differential fluids were dirty and needed to be changed, all was going to cost hundreds of dollars. "Proof" were pictures of those items under the car, not the fluids. Several months later, I am changing those fluids. Rear diff was dirty, transfer case and front differential (I almost never use 4WD) were in BRAND NEW condition. I will never service my vehicle at this stealership again. read more

Anytime I contacted her she was quick to respond with kindness and patience . When the car arrived she contacted me promptly. Had a great experience here. I came in simply to test drive. I had the camry in mind. Ron approached us and showed us what they had on their lot, then we went in to discuss what I was looking for in a car. He showed me online what they had that met what I wanted. I really appreciated him not showing me something that was out of my price range, which is what I got from every other dealership that day. He let us test drive without him, which I appreciated because we got to take the route we wanted and got to see really how the car drove. I went home that day and weighed the pros & cons of buying a car I didn't nessicarily need. The next day I returned and Ron was still just as patient as ever. We arrived at 9 and I LITERALLY did not make the decision to buy the car until 1130. It took about 2 hours to do all of the paperwork and such. I'm honestly not a huge fan of the dealership itself. They did not budge AT ALL on price or what they were willing to "throw in" BUT Ron on the other hand, gave me things I wanted from his own vehicle at home, AND this was after the sale was already made. He truly did this out of the kindness of his heart. I would recommend him to any of my friends or family. He truly made me feel like I was family, like one of his daughters. read more

Just purchased my second vehicle from here. The first time they gave me a great deal and put a cherry on top by going above and beyond to ensure my time was treated valuably. The vehicle needed a small cosmetic repair and the manager took an extra $100 off of the price for my time to come and get it repaired the next day. This is the sole reason I went back to Bill Estes Toyota the second time. The second time, the salesman, Chris Tupling, offered to drive to my home to pick up the new vehicle and take it to get detailed and bring it back full of gas. He made that offer because when I went to pick up the new vehicle it was late at night and the detailers had already left. Chris didn't want me to have to drive back and wait around so he offered to do it for me. This is why I will go back a third time. Both of these instances are why I continue to shop here. I highly recommend this Bill Estes location, and even more so, Chris Tupling, he's a family-man that understands a customer's time is valuable. Came in around 3 pm to oil change and multipoint inspection. It is 4:45 and my car is not ready. They said the found a nail in one of the tires. Last time the same service tooks 40 minutes with Butler. Service is not good and nobody told me about the delay. I also have to reschedule another meeting. I do not recomend this dealer for the maintenance of your car. I've been briij nging my Camry since December 2016, but this will be my last visit here. I'd give this dealership negative stars, if I could. But alas, the lowest allowed is one, so I reluctantly selected that. Where to start? How about the fact that my husband bought a new $45k car from them last year, and it didn't even come with a front license plate bracket, and when we asked for one (because we're moving to a state that requires one), everyone there, including so-called "managers," gave us a hard time, wanting to charge us $75+ for a piece of plastic that should have come with the car (and is indeed built into the MSRP, as the window stickers in all states are the same, yet the bracket is supposedly only included with the sale of the car in states that require front plates), plus who knows what for the install. When I pointed this out, the "manager" used an example of how the MSRP doesn't even include floor mats... Which just shows how low-functioning he is that he's unable to form a proper analogy, because presumably if the floor mats aren't included in the MSRP in Indiana then they aren't included in any other state, either, which goes more towards my point than whatever idiotic point he was trying (but failing) to make. Finally, I outright said, "Look, are you seriously telling me you're not going to come up off a plastic license plate bracket when my husband bought this $45k car from you and bought his last two cars (also new, also expensive) from you?!?" They wouldn't budge, so I informed them I'd be writing reviews and contacting JD Powers. Got in my car to leave, and another so-called "manager" came out and came up to my window and handed me a cheap, plastic license plate bracket. I thanked him and drove off. I didn't want to deal with the dealership again (had a bad enough dealing with them myself when I had a Toyota Camry and they were Butler Toyota and lied to me that my car needed $4500 in work, when all that was wrong was an oil leak... They were trying to say I needed, among other things, a new timing belt and water pump because they thought I was a dumb woman who wouldn't know better, even though I'd just had those replaced at O'Brien Toyota within the past year and knew they most certainly did not need to be replaced), so I drove straight to Ed Martin Toyota to see if they could install the bracket. I told them the whole saga with Bill Estes, and their manager was incredulous and like, "So that's the hill they want to die on?" Ed Martin looked at the bracket and said it wasn't even the right one for the vehicle. (I later looked up license plate brackets on Amazon and saw that the one Bill Estes Toyota gave me was one that sells for.... *drum roll*... $5... Which just makes it all the more insulting that they were being so ridiculous about it when they've already gotten so much money out of us.) They ordered one for me and installed it and made right what Bill Estes wouldn't, even though we bought it from Bill Estes and not from them. We will never, ever buy or service another vehicle at/from a Bill Estes dealership, and will warn all family and friends and anyone who will listen to take their business elsewhere (indeed, after Mt experience at their dealership back when it was Butler Toyota, I warned my husband not to buy the car there, but he did it anyway because he was told they were under new ownership and it was different/better). They allowed me to schedule an appointment online then told me after arriving and waiting 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge me that they were closing soon and would not honor my appointment. No apology, just excuses. An attempt to call was made, but no message was left, no text sent, no email. Last time I went I wanted over 3 hours for them to change my oil, even with a scheduled appointment. Before that we had a terrible experience attempting to return a leased RAV-4. After telling us on the phone to bring it back anytime, we arrived they didn't want to allow the return because they were busy. I thought I'd give them another chance. My mistake. I feel very taken advantage of after my experience here. I made an appointment for routine oil change/tire rotation that's included with my Toyota Care. I was told when I arrived that it was time for my "30,000 mile service" and was not told any sort of price, so I assumed it would be no charge just like my oil change/tire rotation (which is what I made the appointment for). After the service I was told my total was $330..... if I had known it would be that much I never would have said yes but the way the service advisor worded it, that was basically my only option, and he never said any sort of price. Obviously I have learned the hard way to not trust anyone in the car industry. I have contacted the service advisor that charged me $330, David Louderback, and Toyota and no one has gotten back with me at all. I am very disappointed and will not be returning. Would not recommend. Also, a big deal was made that they "had to have 5 stars" on the survey I would receive about my experience. You can guess who never received a survey. read more

I wish I would have read these reviews before we bought a car from this place. The process took forever after we picked the car in about 20 minutes. The onboard software did not work from the start, but nobody noticed or cared. The service department is the worst. After 3 hours the day after we bought this brand new car, they tried to blame it on the way we set up the app on our phone. The next week they had the car and decided it was a part they needed to order. The next week when we dropped it off, they kept it for two days, with no update call. After we called to see what was going on they said "somebody" ordered the wrong year for the part. Then we got a person from Sales (Brad) that was our "key contact" and was "going to take care of us". When we showed up the next week (yep 4 weeks in a row with a brand new car), he was supposed to have made the appointment for us and set up a loaner. Well service didn't know we were coming and had no loaner. He said the supervisor (Doug) know about it, but the woman who checked us in said she didn't. Ripley was the only one that took good care of us. It took over an hour to just drop off the car. When I called our "contact" he didn't call back. I asked him and the GM to call and we still have not heard anything back. I would avoid this place, they don't care about service. The Honda Dealer down the street is really nice, we should have bought from them. read more

I drive 30 minutes to the dealership only to find out that the Mazda 3 was at a Mazda dealership for a recall repair!! Wow, that would have been good information to have known in advance. It is ok here. I don't think they will overcharge you since I expect lots more after one year without any service for my car. One incident is that after I finished maintenance work for my car, I came home only to discover that the Toyota cover for my tire felt out on the high way due to the vibration ( probably) after they did tires rotation. I tried to call them 3 times to let them know but I couldn't, they didn't return my calls. I decided to came back the next day, they agreed to replace that for me but I had to come back the following day. So I ended up being there 3 days continuously. :) Wish they could be more responsive with the phone call thing, so that can save me one visit without anything to do there. read more

This was my first time buying a car. I was nervous! I was scared! I was unsure! Cole took my anxiety and put it into a place never to be seen again, similar to what George Lucas did with the original theatrical versions of Star Wars. Not only was he knowledgeable, he was friendly and really put me at ease during the trying time of making the largest purchase of my life thus far. I had been to other dealerships in the past two weeks, and I felt as though they were only after the sale. I felt pressured and unsure of what I was getting into. Not at Butler, though.
