HORRIBLE experience going thru TSA. There was a lady named "DaeDae" who was obnoxiously rude. As i…read morefinished putting my belongings in the bin, she noticed I wasn't pushing mines fast enough and completely embarrassed me in front of not only the customers, but her employees were laughing as well. She repeated over 20 times "Im just trying to figure out when is it going to click because I swore i kept telling everyone to push their bins". now one time is cool. But she KEPT repeating it all while trying to single me out. Literally 5 other people came behind me and expressed how they felt about the situation saying that she did entirely TOO MUCH Over something that wasn't even that big of a deal. I suffer from social anxiety.. So experiencing this made me feel a type of Embarrassment that I haven't felt in a LONNGGG time. So once I went back to try and get her name, she apologized but it was NOT genuine and i honestly feel it's gonna continue happening the longer this person is working there.

That said, today in Detroit the TSA decided to train a new member of the Cult. I think her name was something like 'Molasses' or Rigor Mortis'. Anyways, Im not sure what was the faster track here today; standing in the TSA line or the Bataan Death March or the 37 minutes of watching Ethel, squinting to see the screen thru her 3 inch thick Sears & Robuck eyewear. Anyways, this day appears to be falling fast as at the very moment I began writting this gem, a 'Country bumpkin posessing extremely portly girth' sat next to me. This will surly be an eventful flight as he's listening to Music on a pair of the worst headphones ive ever seen. I hope he knows i can 'prolly' hear his Lynard Skynard better than he can; "YYYEEEEEE---HAWWWWW"

I'm impressed Detroit! This airport is very nice and way more than I expected. They have some very…read morenice stores. It's clean and has plenty of working, clean bathrooms. I like that their Starbucks carries the Discovery series mugs that I collect for my partner. And they had different versions. For some reason, I didn't expect to have to catch a shuttle to get my rental car. So, you should plan for that. Once you get your luggage, you'll have to follow the signs to an area across the arrival/departure roads, down the escalator, and to your designated area. There's plenty of signage. The bus/shuttle ride is about 15-20 minutes away. I also like the number of commuter counters they have. You know, those high-top tables where you can pull out your laptop and work, those. They had several throughout the airport.

I've flown through DTW more times than I can count for work, and one thing I appreciate is that the…read moreairport has done a good job keeping its facilities updated and modern. On this trip, however, I experienced a significant delay, which highlighted one area where the airport could improve. For an airport of this size, the shopping and entertainment options feel fairly limited. When you're facing a long delay, there isn't much to do beyond finding a place to eat or grabbing a drink, and the food and beverage prices are what you'd expect from an airport. If you're simply passing through on schedule, DTW is a pleasant and efficient airport. But when delays happen, the lack of activities and retail options can make the wait feel much longer.

Sometimes I would find a direct flight from DCA at a reasonable price if I can't get a flight into GRR. The only thing about the location is there are not any restaurants besides a McDonald's. You would have to drive towards the Lansing mall. I don't think there are any hotels nearby either.

I said I'd never return but after attending an event this past week for the Lansing Chamber of Commerce and meeting CEO Nicole Noll-Williams, I figured I'd give it another chance. Today was a completely different experience and I'm so impressed with the new changes that have been implemented. The staff is MUCH more kind, the TSA check in process is much more efficient and up to date with the newest technology, and there are a lot more amenities than before. While there's still a long way to go, I am highly impressed and can say even the energy is much lighter, making my travel a lot less stressful. I look forward to seeing the growth! I've been noticing the marketing efforts and internal adjustment am so glad they're bringing about positive change! Go Lansing!
