Fairly friendly and efficient given that it is the TSA, but Spokane folks are typically friendly folks. Spokane International Airport is a small airport so there are usually not too many travelers on any given day. May 13, 2024 at approximately 3:00 pm. There's nothing like showing up two hours early with only about 20 other people going through the security checkpoint and having the tsa agent declare your real ID as invalid and demanding another form of ID because his colleague declares that my state "has a problem". I submit it is Spokane and these particular people who have "a problem" considering I have traveled hundreds of times with this ID with no problems and the gal in the adjacent kiosk had no problems. This tsa agent felt it necessary to continue to be obnoxious to us and others as we all tried to traverse a very unprofessional, inefficient and somewhat incompetent security situation. I travel quite a bit and am deeply appreciative of the necessary hard work tsa agents perform. Spokane can and needs to do better! read more

6 agents standing around while 1 agent is checking the bags that get flagged. I asked if they could get another agent to help. I was told "per policy we are only allowed to inspect 1 bag at a time". Government waste at its finest. read more

Fastest Checkpoint In The West! And Now With "NO EXTORTION" Like Other Airports! SITREP Wow. THE SETUP The process was efficiently laid out: * From walking into the line, * The lady scanning my driver's license & boarding pass, * Putting my stuff on the conveyor belt to be baggage x-rayed, * Stepping into the x-ray machine for myself to be scanned, and * Collecting my stuff from the belt-conveyor at the end... About 5 minutes. THE LOWDOWN Thanks for your efficiency & quickness, and most of all that I didn't have to be extorted the $85 for the "Pre-Check" application fee process & "certification" that obviously bigger airports like SeaTac and LAX try to shake you down for. read more

We flew on Christmas Day. We went through security about 6:15 am. The entire TSA crew that was working that early morning shift was absolutely the best we have EVER encountered!! When my husband and I reconnected after going through security, we looked at each other and almost in unity said, "Wow, that was the best trip through security." We have never had an unsettling TSA experience, but this group of people almost made us want to go through security again. read more

I Love TSA precheck! It is so nice to stay dressed, keeping my shoes & belt on, leave the laptop in its case and parade right through security without getting discombobulated and then having to get recombobulated afterwards! Not sure how I qualified but I do fly a lot and its like pushing the easy button! Spokane International TSA security is not ever backed up like SeaTac does but anytime the TSA makes something easier and quicker, I am all for it! read more

I cannot say that I have really had much in the way of problems for the TSA checkpoint at GEG Terminal C. Which says a lot for TSA really! I think many of us expect to have an awful experience with TSA, for good reason. The officers are rarely friendly, almost never helpful, and seem to take pride in making the traveler's life awful. This is all in the name of 'safer transportation'. While it is apparent that TSA should not even be classified as a necessary evil, rather a giant scam that we have to pay large sums of money in tax dollars for despite statistically zero benefit to our collective safety, at least this small checkpoint in this small town offers a pleasant experience on most days. Alas, nobody is going to read this review. I mean, who checks yelp prior to deciding on travel arrangements to see how the TSA is? This page exists for the sole purpose of racking up the checkins. Regardless, it is nice to shout out to anyone who may be listening that this is a decent enough place to be when you have to strip off some clothes, get your body scanned, and waste time pretending that we are preventing the terrorists from attacking the 'murica. read more

We were informed that our flight had been cancelled and Alaska was able to get us on a earlier flight at 7:00AM. This left us 50 mins to get tor our gate. We went to the TSA line with 15 to twenty people in front of us you would think this was plenty of time but think again. We watched as the TSA opened bags before going through the x-ray and only one line open. When my turn came I heard a final boarding call while going through the body scanner. They had just closed out the flight as we ran to the gate. As a comparison we left the day before Thanksgiving at SEATAC and got through TSA check point in about ten to fifteen minutes with at least 100 people in front of us. I am sure this wasn't their first day on the job and should be able to move people more thoroughly. Maybe car washing should be in their future. read more

I usually don't post anything but constructive advise with an objective view from a subjective experience. My experience the last 3 visits with TSA at GEG has been less than desirable. TSA does not recognize who the customer is and/or why they are there. Servicing the public safety is paramount and the people at this check station are rude, inconsiderate, powerblinded and just plain dicks. Male and female. You know who you are. People require gentle explanation when something is happening to their possessions. You asking to search my back is not really a question and does not give you authority to stop communicating. Telling us you "don't have to explain anything" is horseshit and takes away from the respect you so desperately need from the public. Have a nice day. 65,000 miles flown this YTD. read more

I was given a purple Expidite card. There wasn't a line, I had to take out my laptop and all liquids out of my purse. So much for Precheck!!

Worst TSA experience ever. Rude indifferent staff. They appear to completely hate their jobs and want this experience to make everyone as miserable as they are. If you are "lucky" to get TSA Pre-Check at this airport, an officer hands you a yellow card because they are short staffed, and there is no separate Pre-check line. That person doesn't bother to say anything except, just show them your card and you won't have to do anything (like take off shoes, take out liquids, laptop, etc). So we move along and find out EVERYONE with TSA pre check is now being taken aside, after the scan, entire bags fully searched, all items removed from suitcase in front of everyone, with the searcher showing attitude the entire time. Then the swabbing wipe test for explosives. Good grief, if you are so darn worried about being short staffed simply tell people to take all that out during the scan, and that TSA pre check doesn't actually exist at this airport. Indeed, it seems to be defined as "you will have all of your stuff searched, be embarrassed and made to feel like a fool, and the security experience at this airport will be long, cumbersome, rude, abrupt and totally absurd." If you ask a question as to why your items are being searched when you are special TSA pre check status, you are ignored, or a grumpy angry answer of, "you didn't take out your laptop" is barely mumbled with a surly attitude and zero eye contact. They did this to EVERYONE with the yellow card. Okayyyy then, how's about you make it easy on yourselves, much less the actual paying customers and TELL THEM THAT UP FRONT. There is NO pre check status at this airport. Take out the laptop, take out the liquids in the quart bag, take off your shoes and do all the crap things they want you to in regular security before the scan, or it will cost your time and your patience dealing with the crap on the other side. I hope to never fly into or out of Spokane again. read more
