We arrived here at 3PM for a 5:30 flight to LGA which we knew was going to be delayed. We were the only group (four of us) that were at the counter. I mean... this was one quiet airport. After a quick check-in we waited for my wife's wheelchair and made our way through the TSA checkpoint. My quickest security check ever. We noticed many stores (lots of bourbon here and it seems that everyone is on that bandwagon.) They also had one really robust store here with many brands, sizes, etc... I wound up buying some take home at the Churchill Downs Store but was a little set back on the pricing. $45.00 for hat??? A fairly quick walk to the gate and we sat a waited. Internet is really good here and I had no trouble viewing some live video. After waiting a bit we decided to stop by Chilis for a quick bite before the delayed plane left. You can see that they're doing a fir amount of construction here which is good since this airport could use a bit of a facelift.

There is plenty of seating in the airport and my flights weren't at capacity to where we had to fight to get on the plane. I even noticed the TSA agents seemed to enjoy their job which is not the norm in other airports. They greeted you, smiled, made small talk, and chatted amongst themselves. It was refreshing to see and experience. The seating seemed a little primitive as I didn't observe a lot of electrical/charging capability. I had to put my coffee on the seat as I went off and left it with my wife given lack of tables. My wife looked for a lounge but didn't locate any. I'm not sure if that was the airport as a whole or specific to Chase/AmEx cardholders. My daughter who is stationed in Italy and came to visit was complaining about the US coffee and I observed an Illy Italian coffee machine by our gate which made her smile. Love this aiport.

This is your last stop before you get on your plane. I was just about to board my plane to go home to Florida and I needed Water and a snack so I stopped and grabbed both. The gentleman here saw my shirt which was that I was ruled by a furry overlord and he said that he had one too. It was a nice interaction. The prices were ok for an air port and the interaction was quick and easy.

Prior to showing up in Louisville I had did the check in and what not to make things a bit more…read moreseamless for me. Then I showed up and followed the directions in the email saying to bypass the counter and head out to the Enterprise kiosk to hop in the vehicle and go. However, that did not go as planned. Myself, and several other customers all showed up to the kiosk in the garage and found it dark with no employees in it. Yes, it was early in the day, but other rental companies were lit up and buzzing with employees. We all stood there for about 5-10 minutes before one of the gentlemen in front of me went over to a competitors kiosk and found out we all needed to go over there to be processed out of the garage. See, there is a sign, not that big of a sign that points Enterprise customers here. But, if you bypass the counter inside the terminal and take the exit that lead right to the garage area for rentals, you come out at the Enterprise kiosk. Where was the sign posted, at the competitors kiosk, at another entrance to the area in the garage. Once we all migrated to the opened kiosk we were all led to vehicles to choose from. I hopped in the one I chose, made my way to the gate to be processed out. Rode around Louisville for the better part of a week and came back to return the vehicle. Brining the vehicle back was just as big a mess when leaving with it upon arrival. Pulling in to the return area almost instantly turns into a traffic jam. Vehicles pulling out are mixing with the vehicles coming in. I think they could redesign this area to make the traffic flow a bit better. People honking at you to move when you have nowhere to move yourself until the traffic moves ahead of you. Finally through the mess of traffic because no one knows what they are doing, I go down the return lane. Dropping the vehicle back off was much easier than taking the vehicle out. The staff are pretty amazing here. They go with the flow and make sure that you have everything you need. Upon arrival back to drop off the vehicle they make it as quick and painless as possible.

I have quite literally filed a lost claim, called customer service who said they forwarded the claim and situation to the branch manager, called this location, as well as two surrounding locations to get the branch managers email after they said there is no stagnant employees here and NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE. I emailed the branch manager, filed the claim with all of my info, and have went to enterprise/help with said info. I have heard nothing. It has been almost two weeks. I am so disheartened and frustrated. If you have something you love and leave it behind here, do NOT expect to get it back. Edit to add: I have ALREADY filled out the enterprise help and called customer service directly. Check your lost and found claims!!!

Having to RE-DO a security screening, which negates anything you may have bought in your originating airport that you can bring on a plane that time that now...you can't get through a new TSA check (liquids, my friends)...it boggles the mind and stretches logic. This particular review is for the American Airlines positioned at the Lousiville airport. I've flown American a few times in my life. The flights are usually pretty smooth without much layover and the planes are usually pretty comfortable. Ok my most recent flight they had a setup where you could login to your phone for free by scanning a code and watch movies and tv shows while in flight. They had a surprisingly large selection with rather new options as well. So that's a nice newer perk (at least for me I don't fly often). Workers here always seem friendly. I'm usually a carry on only guy so never really pay for luggage. I've traveled with strollers and car seats and you just check them at the booking terminal and get a tag and leave by the plane entrance. So a rather easy and see less transition for those traveling with infants or toddlers. Overall while I do not have an airline of choice. American and delta both seem to be solid options flying out of Lousiville. Haven't really had too many issues with either.

He lands at Lunken airfield to and from New York to refuel where he is mobbed by well-wishers. * The Flamingo, one of the first all metal monoplanes built in America, is produced at Lunken by Metal Aircraft Company. * In 1930, formal dedication of Lunken Airport takes place. A three-day celebration includes notables such as Howard Hughes, Jimmy Doolittle, Freddie Lund, Cincinnati Air Corps Reserves and Jean Harlow. Lunken Airport is dedicated as the largest municipal airport in the world. * In the 1940s, American Airlines is born at Lunken Airport. * In 1964, The Beatles arrive at Lunken Airport for their concert at Crosley Field. Bowman Field is such a neat tidbit of history -- one of the great treasures that makes Louisville…read morespecial. Established in 1919, it is one of the longest continuously operating, general aviation airports in the United States. And it makes me feel like I'm going back in time whenever I visit. I envision gals with finger-wave hairdos, cloche hats and low-waisted skirts and fellas in fedoras and bow ties with slicked back hair -- suitcases in hand -- waiting for flights. Family and friends of the travelers gather in the airport's large lobby. Seriously, if anyone is in need of a period setting for a movie, Bowman Field definitely fits the part. If you get a chance to visit, take some time to look at the photos that line the lobby's walls. I was particularly impressed with the photo of Eleanor Roosevelt when she visited the airport. And from the lobby you can look out onto parked planes and runways. They practically meet the building. Bistro La Relais, which is in the main building as well, provides visitors with a great food option.

Great spaces abound in this airport - spaces you would never be able to utilize in a major, commercial airport. The hangars provide interesting spaces and accommodate large groups without feeling crowded. Seeing airplanes and blimps taking off and landing is very cool! Bowman Field is also a perfect place to see beautiful sunsets. Every event we have attended at Bowman Field has been unique and interesting.

Booked this hotel due to its proximity to Churchill Downs. Not usually a patron of Holiday Inn, but…read morethe location was perfect. When we arrived for an evening check in, there were seven cars in the parking lot but no one was available to check us in at the front desk. As we waited, three other families arrived to check in as well. Called the hotel twice and could hear the phone ring in front of me. Two families left. Called the 1-800 number, but they had no means to contact the hotel directly either. Finally after waiting over twenty minutes, the front desk staff arrived to check us in. Due to COVID, the staff (who are down to eight for the entire hotel) are required to answer the phone, check in and out guests and check the hotel as well. The hotel was good for a quick overnight stay about a mile away from Churchill Downs. No services are available. There is coffee in the room and at the front desk, but again there was no one at the front desk in the morning either. Called the hotel several hours after we left to confirm our earlier departure. Recommended leaving a phone number to call or text for service. Also expressed concerns that anyone could access the hotel when no one is at the front desk for an extended time.
