My favorite airport to fly out of and you know if you live in the DMV we have plenty of choices…read more The drop off is super easy as every airline is along the same corridor. Keep in mind, if you have an early flight that the luggage drop off counter usually doesn't open until 2 hours before your flight. We've had 6am flights where we had to wait for the counter to open before proceeding to security. TSA is pretty efficient here and we've always used TSA Precheck to breeze through. On the other side of security there's a nice BWI lounge that serves a handful of food. If you're there for breakfast make sure to try the Old Baby cream cheese. On return, baggage claim is simple but there is a separate section for oversized luggage. Don't be like me and wait for your car seat at the regular belt. If you're calling an Uber to get back home the app will tell you which door to stand outside of. Once you're at that door make sure you're on the curb furthest away from the airport. The first row of lanes is dedicated for shuttles and buses and Uber drivers cannot access it.

Yelp Review 2026 #190:…read more I had a layover at BWI airport. I landed at gate E and had to catch my next flight at gate B. I have Global Entry and TSA Precheck so the process was much easier and faster. However, there was no signage where to exit. I found somebody to ask and directed me to the right direction. Then, I encountered 2 separate lines: connecting flights on the left and exit on the right and I was told to go to the right which didn't make sense since I need to catch my connecting flight but CBP agent told me I need to exit and go through security again and get to terminal B. So, why the signage? It's either no signage or if they do have signage, it's wrong. I made it to security before heading to the domestic terminals. The touchless TSA Precheck was closed off so I went to regular Precheck. I told the TSA agent I had touchless Precheck and he told me "next time go to touchless Precheck!" I asked him if he has seen anybody in line for touchless Precheck, no, because it's roped off meaning it's closed! He then drops my passport and boarding pass. There are moving walkways to expedite hopping from terminal E to B. However, people were blocking the walkway and not moving! If you're standing, stay on the right and let people that are walking pass on the left! It just seemed like everyone's first day on earth. The restrooms aren't the best nor the cleanest. They don't have good options for lounges so I skipped that and went to eat at two airport restaurants. They do have a nice selection of restaurants.

Who in their right mind intentionally separates themselves from their kids all in the name of one of you getting past the security checkpoint faster? Sorry boo, wasn't raised that way. As for my family and me; we'll remain civilized and stand in the line with the rest of the general population. It's too much going on in the world to purposely introduce chance into a well planned trip. No reason to debate with the TSA agent as I'm not trying to make the evening news. however it is annoying when your coworkers who are watching tell me how to bypass you. Alas, the power of a dollar tree badge has reninded me of my place in the food chain.

I had my dogs with me so I love when everything can go as smooth as possible. The guy that was checking the IDs and boarding passes was nice and was trying to keep the line moving!! He did a great job. Then once we get into the next line to strip down....kidding...just the normal routine shoes, any pocket items, metals items, laptops..etc. Since I have my dogs I have to place everything on the belt and wait for it to go by and then go through the walking metal detector rather than the standing arms up your under arrest stance detector. Any who as soon as I walked through the walking detector I was greeted by a smiling TSA worker that adored my dogs. As many may not know they will wipe both your hands down so they can see what chemicals you may be carrying. So after that they put it in a machine and I have to wait. Once I was cleared, on to getting my stuff. All in all I received a great experience and appreciated all the smiles!!!

It's not the speed - that works pretty good. It's really just the amateur hour behavior and poor management that is on display. Such a random process with CLEAR. My bag was identified for check (is an open I did have a water bottle in my carry-on) but the agent at the end of the process was engaged in a conversation with a random airport employee right in front of me discussing football while my bag just sat. I stepped in uncomfortably close to indicate I wanted the process to move along, she looked at me and said someone will check your bag soon, then when she finished her conversation, of course, she checked my bag. I travel at least once a month or more so I see plenty of airport security points. The BWI check seems to create their own miscellaneous and trivial rules - More than other airports although each checkpoint has its own weird and ridiculous not - rules. My favorite, thus far, was the agent who "would not raise her voice". In the noisy cacophony surrounding the checkpoint she was speaking (I could see her lips moving) but I could not tell what she wanted me to do; she started gesturing somewhat randomly and I thought she possibly had a neurological tick. So when I was close enough to mention I could not hear her she responded with "I will not raise my voice you have to listen closer". This type of authoritarian rule mongering issued by a 30-year-old who looks like she slept in her uniform it's just part of the whole entertainment process of watching the BWI southwest TSA pre operation. Process works and it's generally fast but it is run by a bunch of half-wit morons who make up their own rules as they go and aren't interested in customer service in any way.

Since I haven't taken many vacations this year, the hubby said he'd use his points to book me a first class ticket. Of course I said yes! Above is the price / point breakdown. The flight there was fine. Got offered champagne before takeoff then fed a meal. The chose the cheese plate on the way there. Got the usual warm nuts to start. Ordered a few glasses of red wine and had a seltzer water as well. I was on the redeye, so was able to take a quick nap. The flight back, the plane was a little older. Felt slightly dingier. No champagne before takeoff offered. Got the usual nuts. For my meal, I got the Tomato and burrata manicotti and got a few glasses of champagne. Also took a nap here as well. There was a sharks and a warriors game while I was on the plane. Was able to stream after buying wifi. Both flights were fine, tho I do think if you fly first you should get access to the lounge. I believe they only do it on one of their routes domestically from SFO to EWR, but if you are flying basically the same amount of time, you should also get access. Not my favorite airline, but it will do. REVIEW #3873

Three counter employees for 50 people checking in is ridiculous…read more By the time you make the line, you will be told that you're too late to check in. My agent was smug, unprofessional and plain slow and lazy. Rude tone of voice when speaking and dismissive. She begins to find me another flight the next day, and asks me where I'm going. I say "Chicago." Her reply, "Where's Chicago?" Uh, yeah. Let that sink in for a second. I didn't respond. She had to call a colleague on the phone to ask where Chicago is. These are the types of employees working for UA. How can you not know basic geography and locations of the MAJOR US airport hubs that your company uses? ZERO stars. I Uber'd all the way to Dulles after that fiasco and whizzed by the check in process there. Staff directing people where to go. No rudeness or confusion. Fast, easy, efficient. I won't fly UA ever again and especially not through BWI. Their passenger seats feel inhumane, like a caged animal in a box. Awful.
