You simply head down the escalator toward the iconic "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign (which is definitely worth stopping for a photo!), and from there, the signage clearly directs you to the appropriate tram based on your airline. I also had a question about getting to public transportation, and one of the employees at the airport help desk was extremely helpful. They explained that either tram would take me to the transportation area, which made the process much easier. I didn't check any luggage, so I headed straight to the taxi area, and one thing I really appreciated was how organized everything was. This is something I always pay attention to while traveling. Similar to what I've experienced at O'Hare and the New Orleans airport, there were attendants managing the taxi lines and helping direct passengers. That level of organization makes such a difference, especially if you're unfamiliar with the airport or arriving after a long flight. Perhaps this is the most efficient way, it just appears like you're going to be in line for hours. However it was only about 45 mins from drop off to my gate. Compared to the 4 mins TSA line in omaha it was funny. But, we got through. Coming in vs leaving was different looking and I didn't not like the C gates. It's an airport, so its got its pros and cons.

[Insert grumpy face here!] Cuzzo and I were staying at another cuzzo's house which is only 20 minutes away. We weren't checking anything in, so we figure leaving the house an hour before should be plenty of time because we both had TSAPre's. We get there 45 minutes before our flight and the line is a mile long. TSAPre line closed. We were told, "It's closed every night at 730p." In Vegas on a Sunday night when everyone is trying to fly home after a weekend run at the city of sin?! Luckily, our flight was delayed another 30 minutes (yep... Southwest...) so we had plenty of time... ... it's just disappointing not to be able to use a service we paid for. To top it off, we were told (AFTER going through) that we didn't have to take off our shoes or sweaters had we alerted the TSA staff we had that service. Ugh.... Here's hoping they figure this all out before I come through again next time...

Checking in was easy. Show your boarding pass and physical credit card. Once in the lounge, we were greeted by the friendly staff. What I love about this lounge is how empty it is. We were the only ones here plus maybe 3 other people. A few more people trickled in after 30 minutes of being here but still lots of space and empty tables. Food is constantly replenished. During my visit, they had panzanella salad, crostini, pita and hummus, pancetta Mac and cheese, BBQ mushroom burnt ends, sausage and peppers, braised short rib tacos, charcuterie, cheesecake, banana chocolate chip bread, lemon poppy seed cake, vegan gluten-free cookie, French butter and croissant. They have sodas and iced tea on tap. They have coffee and hot tea. The food is warm and quite good. I ate 3 of the short rib tacos. The soda is extra carbonated and I kept getting foam. The space is quite big and it's clean and orderly. The staff does a great job clearing tables and wiping them down. The music is at a good level. The bathroom is private all-gender. Spacious and clean. I like that they have lotion in there because flying gets your skin dry.

Not satisfied with this exchange, I sought out a TSA Supervisor for help. Explaining the situation and the exchange and he has asked me to point out the agent. Who during the conversation with the supervisor, proceeded to get further and further away from the examination area until she was no longer in line of site or on the floor. The supervisor offered no apology and didn't offer to correct or have the agent come to apologize. He simply stated it should have been allowed. He isn't sure why the agent didn't allow it, but once it's touched the bin we can not retrieve it. There is nothing that can be done. I asked if there is a place to give feedback and he had a stack of complaint business cards in his top left pocket, which he proceeded to hand me and follow up with I can go to the website or email it to that email address. Overall super disappointed. I had to spend more money to purchase milk on the other side of the gate because of course the child was thirsty knowing her milk bottles were thrown away. I don't understand how people in the service of customer service can not simply recognize that sometime mistakes happen because of untrained personnel. When this happens, as a manager, simply call the employee over and inform them of the accident or misconduct and offer a simply apology. It goes a long way and the training effort if the supervisor had done this, would save more grief for families going forward with this agent knowing the TSA rules and regulations better.
