We flew out of this airport, ending a memorable trip from Vegas back home to Louisville. Very happy to have a direct flight. Easy to get boarding passes and luggage tags at the kiosk and hand over our bags. I took one carry on and a personal item (purse). In this section of the airport a semi-circle of boarding gates is there for Southwest. Finding a seat can be tricky but at least you're near almost every gate to hear announcements. We also were able to grab a pizza before leaving. Boarding went smoothly although the group numbers weren't displayed and this left quite a few people confused and unsure if they were in the correct line. It appeared one side of the plane was extra leg room as compared to our side. Definitely noticeable with a row of three. I don't remember being so uncomfortable on the aisle. The flight attendants came by often for drink requests and to check on passengers. Snacks were pretzels and Oreos. I downloaded the app and rapid rewards account. This gave access to free WiFi but it's not great. I could watch the SW portal which included a handful of shows. This did help immensely to make it through the flight as I struggled to get comfortable and wanted to be home so badly.

Southwest... what is going on? This new setup is not it. I just took my first flight under this "new process," and even my flight attendant admitted, "They tried trial and error, but it seems like there's a lot more error." The assigned‑seating rollout is slow, chaotic, and paired with price hikes and new baggage fees, it feels like a downgrade across the board. I don't know who approved this, but as a long‑time, frequent flyer, it's clear someone needs to head back to the drawing board. This isn't the Southwest experience we've known for years, and it's definitely not something I can recommend right now.

I shared the purpose of my trip with flight attendant, Shawndon as to why I was returning to Las Vegas from visiting my mom in Michigan who is experiencing some health issues. I closed my eyes briefly & to my surprise, when I opened them, I saw this thoughtful note left by Shawndon. He seemed to know what I needed at that moment. I was so appreciative that he took the time to write this note especially for me. As we deplaned, we hugged & I thanked him again. This is one of many reasons why Southwest's customer service is the best!

1/22/26- Southwest staff was a lifesaver today.. After running around getting food, I went to grab my charger bag.. ???? I left it on the seat.. They did make an announcement while we were walking from gate B to C.. but never thought it was regarding to me Gate C told me I had to go back to where I arrived... Thank goodness I can walk fast.. Even my watch wanted to record my steps thinking I was on an elliptical.. Spoke to the staff at counter and she located it! Whew... ** I should also commend the staff because one flyer ended up getting really sick and they handled the situation with respect...

I flew Southwest Airlines from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, and this was by far, one of the best flying experiences I had. First off, they were super efficient with boarding and everyone was boarded long before the flight was expected to take off. When we took off, the pilot purposefully flew so we got the best view of the Vegas strip which was so amazing! The trip said it would be an hour, but we actually got to LA in 30 minutes. No delays and everyone got off the plane quickly! The only thing I didn't like was that people were putting their luggage flat so there wasn't enough space in the luggage storage. The flight attendants didn't tell anyone to put their luggage on its side so I had to do it myself. But overall, great experience! Probably one of the best flights I have been on in my life!

I think Southwest airline is great for short flights because all their planes that I been on never had a TV in the sitting area. The seats also aren't that comfortable for long flight. I took this flight from Las Vegas going back to Burbank. They are also moving away from opening seating after January. The check in process is easy through the app or website. Southwest is my go to airline when going to Las Vegas or Sacramento. They got rid of giving soda on short flight now because now it's only water.

Hello Yelp Friends!! My hubby and I went to Chicago from Las Vegas, our home city. We went to celebrate our daughter's graduation. All the staff have been so nice and very professional. We sat front row and had some beverages( a coffee and a soda) and we enjoyed a few snacks( pretzels and graham crackers. The flight was not sold out so we enjoyed having a seat open between us. What difference that makes. Wow! I love how easy check in can be with the self check in. Bag check in is usually easy unless you have a bag over 50 lbs. I love earning flyer miles and early check in. I have to say I like flying South West.

It is always delayed, that's kinda crazy. People missed their connecting flight. $550 for a round trip to Vegas from Oakland, that's very expensive. I wish we have other airlines to choose from.

    Welcome to Vegas.

HOU to LAS to HOU via LUV LUV SWA! On a recent flight home, decided to get in some steps while waiting for my flight. It was so interesting to see an employee with small gift bags filled with Disney themed treats that she was giving away to young children. A treat to remember Las Vegas. So sweet. Only in Vegas. Only on Southwest Airlines.

Serious delays with you know who!
    Shaheen H.

The worst service. 2 1/2 hour delay to take off. Why you ask? Because someone caused a scratch on this painted plane and it took 2 hours to complete the paperwork and 30 minute wait to take off. This is so Southwest! Irresponsible employees caused this. This type of delay should come with ticket reimbursement! We shall see what they do. Never again!

    Vegas from the friendly skies.

My 10:14pm flight was canceled and rescheduled to 1pm on May 22. The notice said I would miss my connection to Las Vegas. I found out the earliest I could get to Las Vegas would be 8:37am on May 23. This would leave me almost no margin of error should there be any additional delays, so I looked for other flights to Las Vegas from Honolulu. The only one I could find that got me to Las Vegas on Friday was Delta, via Seattle. I booked the flights at a cost of $3,528,80. American would not refund my money; I got a credit for future usage. Gee, thanks American. I went to the Delta Sky Club to relax before my flight to Seattle. This flight was on an Airbus A321Neo, with 2x2 seating in First Class. I had seat 4D (window) and the seat pod is nice but, in their attempt to provide privacy from the passenger in the aisle (C) seat, there is a protruding divider that made it difficult to get in and out of my seat. Legroom was fine and the entertainment screen was large. Luckily, flight DL 440 went off without any problems, and I arrived in Seattle ahead of schedule. When I landed, I noticed that I didn't have a boarding pass for flight DL 2880; the app said to go to the gate for seat assignment. That's when I noticed that I was seated in coach for this flight. What? I killed three hours in the Delta Sky Club in Seattle, pondering what would happen next. I got to the gate and was assigned an aisle seat, row 33, seat C. That's the last row in the plane. What else could happen? I was seated next to two young ladies who had no idea who BTS was and across the aisle was a mother with a baby and a three-year-old child. Luckily, the baby was quiet during the (little over) two-hour flight. The toddler was well behaved, though I did have to pick up toys she kept throwing into the aisle. I ordered a gin & tonic, $11. At least I was in Vegas on Friday, was the worst behind me? On the day of departure, I got to the airport before 9am and spent time relaxing in the American Express Centurion Lounge. I like the AMEX lounge, but I often find it difficult to gain entry without having to wait outside for 20 or more minutes. It's too popular and needs to be expanded. This is true at several airports, not just Las Vegas. The flight to Seattle (DL 2922) was shorter than normal; we ended up sitting on the tarmac for 20 minutes until a gate opened up for us. Fortuitously, we "parked" at gate B2 and my flight to Honolulu was departing from gate B3. However, I had 1.5 hours to kill so I spent it in the Delta Sky Club around the corner. I went to the bar and wanted something more than a call drink, so I asked for a Hendrick gin & tonic. The bartender talked me into a double (better value) and it ended up costing me $18.76. Nothing is free anymore. My flight (DL 419) left on time and arrived in Honolulu early. I don't remember much about the flight as I was asleep during much of it. In summary, I think the domestic airlines should call first class on single aisle aircraft what it is, business class, and re-price accordingly. American and Delta seem to be doing this, with Flagship First on American and Delta One. These offer lie-flat seats on wide body aircraft and come close to international business class. The issue for me is I can fly cheaper in international business class for less than domestic first class and get superior service. Domestic carriers had better step up their game.

One reason I selected American Airlines is they were one of the few airlines that offered a nonstop flight from Las Vegas to Philadelphia International Airport making my travel arrangements so much easier. The lines at the counter were organized, and I did not experience any lengthy lines or issues during the check in process. The boarding experience was just as smooth. The gate agent's announcements were clearly communicated and the boarding process was easy! I didn't bring a carry on since I had checked my bag. I was going to be in Philly for 4 days. As a bonus the flight left on time and arrived 30 minutes early! When you are flying across the country arriving on time is a definite plus, but even better when it's early! Hawaiian offers non-stop service to Vegas; other airlines require a stop, sometimes illogical ones. Why not Southwest or Alaska? I do not like flying on single aisle aircraft, especially the Boeing 737 which is used almost exclusively by those airlines. Thus, my alternatives are American, Delta, and United. Unfortunately, the airlines have replaced wide body aircraft with single aisle variants to service West Coast to Hawaii routes. United still flies a 777 once a day but I couldn't make the itinerary work for a mid-morning arrival in Vegas, so I ended up with American, using Airbus A32x aircraft. The route was sub-optimal, a flight from Honolulu to Phoenix, a long layover, and an 11:49am arrival in Vegas. The return leg routed through Los Angeles. The fare was $2,828.69. I was in my office on the 21st, getting ready to head to the airport when I received a text and an email stating that my 10:14pm flight was postponed due to lack of flight crew and that I would miss my connection (from Phoenix to Las Vegas). The flight was rescheduled to depart at 1pm on the 22nd. If I took that flight, I wouldn't arrive in Las Vegas until Saturday morning, assuming I could get a seat on the first flight to Vegas from Phoenix ... Unacceptable, as I had planned events in Vegas on Friday. So, I scanned the other airlines for tickets to Vegas and purchased tickets on Delta, routing through Seattle, for $3,528.80, then canceled my tickets on American. My new flight left Honolulu at 10:35pm and arrived in Vegas at 2:26pm. Okay, I'd miss two events, but I'd be in Vegas on Friday. More on Delta in a separate write-up. My issue with American is that I didn't receive an apology, just an email stating they were pleased to offer me a credit for the amount I paid, $2,828.69. Nothing else. When Hawaiian delayed a flight by a day, I received a hotel room and a $300 credit. American, is this your idea of customer service? I've flown on American since the late 1970's but haven't recently. Now I remember why.

We used this Airline all eleven times. Located at Terminal 3 at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. Hubby and I have been to the islands of Hawaii, Oahu- ten times and Maui- for our honeymoon- once, a total of eleven times. Our son was really small, but he's been to Oahu twice. We went with my mother-in-law and her husband to Oahu once. And we also went with a couple of friends to Oahu once too. The first time, in 2004, we didn't know anything about it, we didn't use the Red Eye, so we missed on almost the entire first day because we arrived at 2 or 3 pm-ish. From the 2nd trip on, we always flew on the Red Eye. Always had a good meal, but it was late. Started using sleep aids so we missed out on those, but I think that rest was more important. Every flight attendant extended the Aloha Spirit to every visitor, they are all smiling, are all very nice, as well as very helpful. I think that one year we got a logo freebie bag, which we still use and have to this day. To date, I believe that these flight attendants have the best demeanor. The luggage policy was one bag checked for free, weight limit of 55 pounds, unless that has changed. But please do check the website. The website is user-friendly. You can book your trip using their site. You can also check your miles. On the Rewards Program, recently, the airline eliminated losing your miles. I currently have enough to book a one way flight for free. This would be the second time, that I earned this as a Rewards member. Hubby became a member after I did, but he lost his miles. Not so good.
