Our most recent flight transfer through Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) was an…read moreextremely upsetting experience with TSA. Although we both have Global Entry, we were randomly selected to go through regular security screening. At first, we had no reason to question it. When we first approached the TSA PreCheck personnel, she told us that our digital boarding passes did not show PreCheck and that we needed to go through regular security. To save time, we went to the American Airlines desk and requested paper boarding passes. When we brought them back, the TSA personnel told us that she had just learned that we had been "randomly" marked for regular security screening. We then went to the regular security checkpoint, which had a much longer line and took approximately four times longer than the PreCheck line. When we finally reached the metal detectors, however, we were instructed to line up for the X-ray scanner instead. The woman directly in front of us was allowed to go through the regular metal detector, while we were directed to the scanner. Then, people behind us were also sent to the scanner, while other passengers were allowed to continue through the metal detector. At that point, we began noticing a very disturbing pattern. The people being held back and directed to the scanner appeared to be African American, Asian, or Hispanic, while the passengers being allowed through the metal detector appeared to be white. We understand that TSA screening can be random, but seeing this pattern unfold right in front of us was extremely difficult to ignore. It felt like blatant racial profiling. After this experience, I now question whether we were truly "randomly" selected in the first place. We have taken more than 10 flights since getting Global Entry, and this was the first time we were ever "randomly" selected for regular security screening. We genuinely believed it was simply a random screening until we experienced what happened at the security checkpoint. Because of the additional screening, we lost valuable time during our connection. We had only about 1 1/2 hours between flights, and by the time we finally cleared security, the boarding closing time printed on our boarding passes had just passed. We panicked and ran to the nearest American Airlines desk. Thankfully, a staff member checked our flight and kindly assured us that the flight was delayed and that boarding had just started. We then ran from Terminal D to Terminal B, including taking the airport train, and barely made it in time for boarding. We had no opportunity to use any of the airport amenities, restaurants, or shops, so unfortunately, we cannot comment on those. What we can comment on is how upsetting and unacceptable it was to feel that we were treated differently because of our race. No traveler should have to experience this. I sincerely hope DFW and TSA will look into how passengers are being selected and directed through these screening lines.

Clean and easy to access with several club options (Chase, Centurion, Admirals Club) if you have…read moreaccess through a credit card. If not, there are several restaurants and multiple fast food options available in the terminal (Chik Fil A, Starbucks). The terminal is clean and there are lots of signs to point you in the right direction. There are also interactive electronic boards that can help direct you on your way. As you can see in the video, it is quite a long walk to the gates at the end so leave plenty of time to get to your gate!

Took a Frontier airlines flight here from San Diego and arrived unceremoniously…read more The Terminal was ok. a few things to choose from for food, souvenirs, snacks, etc. The walkways are crowded, people are hustling and bustling, and not smiling, no one seems happy here. You can ride a tram over to other terminals, and then walk over to the Dart train if you can follow the random signs that point you down hallways and corridors that end in a dead end. They need to do a better job marking stuff. At least the bathrooms were clean.

I hopped on a United flight in an attempt to leave earlier. That brought me out to terminal E. It was the usual layout for the older terminals at DFW. Definitely not as nice as terminal D. The hallways between gates were a bit too narrow especially when there were so many flight delays and cancellations. There were plenty of food options. During my wait for my flight, I got food to eat at Wendy's.

Do know that, if you have a layover here in Dallas that requires you to change gates it can take a while. While signage is clear and easy to follow, and I was walking at a fairly brisk pace, I had about 1 1/2 hours layover and arrived to my departing gate just as the plane was ready to board. This is due to the time it takes to get to the tram, ride the tram through a few stops and to the appropriate set of gates (which are quite spread apart) and then navigate to the gate areas - so even with that long of a layover, I wasn't able to browse the shops and didn't have time to dally. That said, there were plenty of food options in this airport, including a TGI Fridays in one terminal where they guarantee diners will be in and out in 30 minutes.

Terminal A at DFW is one of the best terminals in terms of parking, easy TSA and food choices…read more Tip, if you park your car at DFW, always take a few pictures of where you parked and the walking path and elevator floor. It's easy to not remember where you parked. TSA has this new touch-less feature that is marked in your boarding pass and boom so easy to get though. It does face recognition and that's it! Stopped by Starbucks and on to my gate. Easy travel experience.

I am not sure who is managing TSA or this checkpoint but it was an absolute disaster with people being given different directions, different TSA agents shouting different different directions, confused travelers in an impossibly long back up. I am yet to encounter TSA agents who appear to love their jobs but at least give clear, consice, and consistent messages to travelers. I swear we arent ALL idiots, we want to get through the line just as fast as you want us to.

They have been closing off areas and some of the shops to do the construction, but the first new expansion has opened and it is nice. Brand new state of the art gates and seating. And they have some exciting restaurants coming. Lookin at you Pappas Bros! They are right off of the skylink train so they are super easy to get to. They are also doing a good job of sealing off the construction and navigating people around it. Going through the middle Cs where nothing has been touched is harder to navigate than where they are doing work. It will be interesting to see what they do with security once they get around 22, but we will cross that bridge when we get there. I am in and out of here all the time and I am impressed with the work that is being done and really at the speed it is happening, with very little inconvenience to travelers.

It has reached the point where I just assume the orange cones and temporary walls are permanent décor. I completely understand that airports need renovations, but this terminal has felt like a never-ending construction project for years. Between the detours, relocated businesses, and constantly changing walkways, it rarely feels like a polished travel experience. The terminal gets you where you need to go, but it lacks the modern feel and convenience of some of the other terminals at DFW. Hopefully, all of this construction eventually leads to something spectacular. Until then, Terminal C feels like the airport equivalent of "We're almost done!"... said every year. 2 STARS

This particular one is located in Terminal E, right across from gate E4. Restrooms are next door as well. I believe it's open 24/7. There are prayer rugs, few Qur'ans and a head scarf (hijab) in a ziplock bag. The note on the wall, suggests the direction of the Kaa'ba. Jazak Allah.

"It's an older lounge sir... but it checks out." -Sith Lieutenant... probably…read more Located in Terminal C of DFW, near gate C20, this is a very large AA club lounge and it has a somewhat retro feel to it. Amenities are modern, but I did feel like I had been transported back to the 80s for some strange reason. Maybe that is just the age of this terminal? As I said before, it's huge. End to end you start to wonder if you're still in fact in the lounge. You are... but there are more nooks and crannies to discover. There is seating in every direction, along with dedicated sections for office work, and the cubicles come complete with large monitors to hook into for more productivity. There are windows to the actual gates, though you might be cooler during the summer staying away from them. They have a conference room that can be booked for an additional cost. This lounge has a few food areas, most of them serving up lighter bites with a more "main" buffet near the bar offering the most. When I went there was a build your own bagel sandwich station, staffed by someone ready to cook up and assemble you a delicious sandwich to order. The bar isn't big enough to accomodate the traffic when busy, at least when I was there in the summer. There are also a lot of chokepoints where you can just get stuck waiting to move. The showers can be utilized by checking in with someone in with customer service. Getting a quick shower in before a flight definitely adds to my comfort on the flight, it's a good way to decompress. Bathrooms are large and clean, you get your own stall with an actual full length door, like at a Buc-ees. The air conditioning is nice and cold in the office section to the left, seems to get much warmer in the window area. I do not often fly AA, but this was a worthy lounge, and I certainly appreciated it while awaiting my connection.

There were a lot of happy, celebratory folks by the bar, and I found a quiet place in the back near the coffee. Views are nothing to write home about, but it is comfortable and clean. The staff is very attentive and kind. I did not see showers, but the bathroom is suitable. To me, it was worth the cost of the day pass. I am grateful for these lounges.
