We tried everything with my son's eczema going to a dermatologist and allergist. Nothing seems to work. We put him on steroid but that just made it worse and skin more irritating. My husband and I decided to go with TCM. Dr Tsai didn't really explained much, did a quick examination and just gave my 15 month old son an eczema regimen which consists a herbal powder mix and itching pill which he takes twice a day and non steroid creams for the day and night. 3 weeks in and following the steps we have seen improvement in him finally! Wow, Dr. Tsai is my savior. I was so frustrated with, I thought was a cyst until Dr. Tsai pointed out it's a warts instead. He was very thorough checking everything and gave me life style advice, herd medication for ointment and powder to take. Got a very bad case of eczema. My skin swells, oozes, bleeds, itches, and hurts. My leg, hand and arm were so swollen that my skin would crack when bent too much. My daughter has eczema problems since she was 2 years old, now she's 23. It flare up on and off. This summer she got it really bad again over her neck, chest, arms, back and face. We went to dermatologist again for her eczema but she doesn't want to take anymore of prescription drugs such as prednisone or ointment with steroids. Thank God, one of my friend referred me to Dr. Tsai even it's too far from our house it is really worth it. My daughter really want natural/ herbal medicine to try on. 5 STARS all the way! I was referred here by a friend and I am so happy I was. My younger brother has suffered with eczema his whole life. We spent countless of days and hours at kaiser and always getting the same answers and medication, nothing really worked but at least it helped relieve the problem for a while. As he started to grow into his adult years now being 19 his skin was a tad better and had cleared up enough to be content with. Well here we are now, about 3 months ago his hands and arms became full of what looked like rashes and the return of eczema. It was looking pretty bad so of course we rushed to urgent care only to be told there is nothing more they can do, he would just have to continue doing what he has done before. So of course we did what just that. My neighbor who has been here before with some skin conditions of herself and was a walking testimony advised me to give Dr. Tsai a try, after a few weeks of debating I figured we have nothing to lose so I called and made an appointment. If you're a new patient make sure to say you are new patient and you tell them when you are able to come other wise they tell you and sometimes that doesn't work for everyone (me) lol The location is a small building located right on the Main Street, you can either park right out front or in the parking lot located in the back. We walked in and were greeted by the staff, the staff is VERY straight forward and VERY serious lol but they are helpful and get the job done. We finally met Dr. Tsai and he was such a nice and knowledgeable Dr. He took one look at my brother and said "No problem, we fix that" he said the only thing is that we want this fix to be long term and not to return anytime soon, so he asked that my brother take the ointment and medication as directed and to also follow a strict diet. While in the office we were kinda thinking this is a lot but again worth a try and we have more to gain then to lose. In about 5 days we noticed a big difference and how it was working well, over a week now it it looks completely gone. They do accept PPO insurance but if not they also take cash patients. This is for the most recent experience I had with the lady on the phone. Did not any interaction with the doctor, was willing to pay cash but the way this lady acted made me change my mind. There was no greeting or pleasantries. I asked if they are accepting patients, she asked "what health insurance" very bluntly. I told her it would be Medicare and HMO for my dad and she said "pay out of pocket! Pay out of pocket! $50. " I asked if she had any openings today and she said morning or afternoon without specifying a day. So I asked for tomorrow and she let out a rude sigh (like she was irritated assuming that I was psychic and knew she was hinting s different day.) She than with irritation in her voice, said "Thursday twice". I understand sometimes people have bad days, but please do not take it with a potential patient. Maybe I will give this place a chance in the future. Hopefully not with this lady though. read more

I found Dr. Tsai on Yelp and he is a BLESSING!!! My boyfriend had this weird patchy discoloration in both axillae. I've been going to see Dr. Tsai over the span of 6 years now and I've only seen him 3 times. Dr. Tsais remedy has changed my life. My skin is really sensitive and over the past six years I've learned to managed my atopic dermatitis and be aware of my triggers. My husband just left this office and had the unfortunate experience with the lady at the front desk. She was so rude - yelling at him becauae of where he parked and threw a mask at my husband because he wasn't wearing one. She asked what kind of insurance he had and when he told her (Blue Cross PPO), she immediately blurted they don't take that and he has to pay cash. My husband really needed to see this dr. Been waiting a few days to write this review, to see if the cream that was given actually worked. Came into the office because I had a strange rash on my right arm and terrible neck pains. I had previously tried to use a prescribed strength cortisone from an American dermatologist on my rash and it did not help, it seemed to make it worse. So I decided to go a different route and try eastern medicine. Called the office and was able to make an appointment the next day. Once I was in,the doctor exam my neck and said I needed an alignment and even was able to describe why I was having neck issues "lazy person syndrome". Which unfortunately was true, I was guilty of having bad posture and lying in bed probably way to often. He was able to adjust my alignment and I felt immediately better. I had never had an adjustment before so i was very nervous and scared, the sound of your bones cracking is quite intimidating. Although the process was not painful at all and only lasted for a few seconds. I was also given an acupuncture for my Headache and to my surprise my headache was gone just as soon as soon as the acupuncture started. I was given a foreign cream to use on my rash and the next day I could already see an improvement. About 5 days later and it is almost completely gone! We still haven't quite figure out the root of my rash, they were thinking it was something I ate but nonetheless I am very excited it is gone! I highly recommend this office for all your skin rash needs and body aches. Just keep your mind open to different forms of treatment and you maybe pleasantly surprise at the outcome! I find Doctor Tsai Charlis a life saver. He was so knowledgeable and informative. He knew right away what my rash was and provide me information on preventive. He gave me some lotion, and itch ointment in office and right away with just 1st application it worked so good. I can start to feel the itch go away and the redness start to go away. The office visit was painless. I recommend doctor to everyone who's looking to itch relief. My eczema that's been with me for the past 4 years is now vanishing. Before visiting Dr.Tsai, I've visited countless dermatologists, doctors in the past 4 years and used medicines that only worked good in diminishing my symptoms, which later came back to me with larger affected area. I spent so much $$$$ and effort trying to cure my eczema and it almost felt hopeless. I decided to give Dr.Tsai a try since his office is under 20 mins drive to where I live and I had not visited a place with oriental medicine treatment yet in California. The result is absolutely satisfying. The eczema on my legs and face are gone and I understand what I need to do in order to have Eczema stay away from me for good. It only took 2 weeks before about 80% of the affected area felt normal again and another 2 weeks to clear all affected areas, not to mention that the symptoms have not come back during or after the treatment. It's been almost 2 months and my eczema has not come back. Now Dr.Tsai and I are working on reducing the scars caused by using eczema drugs containing hormone given by a previous dermatologist I saw. I've been going to Dr. Tsai for a couple years now and I've been satisfied after every visit. I had chronic knee and back pain for 10+ years. After going to countless number of physical therapists, orthopedics, chiropractors, and acupuncturists Dr. Tsai is the only one that fixed my problem. I had gone to three different doctors before coming to Dr. Tsai. All of the previous doctors had told me I have severe atopic eczema since it's genetic, the only solution was to come in and get steroid injections whenever I had an outbreak. After realizing how expensive and unsustainable it would be to keep getting steroid injections and creams, my uncle recommended I see Dr. Tsai. He gave me a strict regime to follow, along with medicine and a non-steroid cream. Since I was recovering from a really bad outbreak (and I didn't follow his regime to the dot), it took me one month to be fully recovered - and I'm so thankful to be eczema-free. I'd recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone who's been struggling with eczema. Western doctors were able to give me immediate relief (using steroids) but the eczema always came back. With Dr. Tsai, my eczema is now under control and I feel healthier and understand my body better. read more

He's abrasive, he's patronizing, and he works. Like my other reviewer here, every dermatologist I've seen has written me off as hopeless. "Here," they'd say scribbling down another prescription for yet another steroid ointment with Michael-Jackson-strength skin bleaching qualities, "this will make you less horrible. For now. Until we find something even scarier to slather over you." Dr. Tsai instead has powerful herbal remedies which--although they make you smell like an old Chinese miner--really piece together the tattered papier mâché of your eczema skin. Generally, his treatments are 2 weeks long and you have to get to bed before 11 every night for the treatment to work its best (said the guy typing a review at 11:30). And if you don't have a PPO, he'll charge you any where from $200 to $100, depending on what he gives you in ointments, lotions, tonics and herbal pills (he makes them right there). After that, you're good for many months if you just stick to the no red meat, no late nights plan. Which I didn't. Which is why I came back a year later. Be warned though, the guy doesn't have much in the way of solutions if you have dandruff. And also beware: he's nice to boys but he is borderline mean to young women. I had been struggling with psoriasis and eczema for YEARSSSSSSSSSSSSSS and kaiser had given me all sorts of steroided creams that'd bleach my skin and never completely healed my issue... In fact they told me there's no cure... I am probably as white washed as can be and so I had never been to an OMD before and was quite skeptical due to the form of medication they usually give... But my cousin recommended Dr. Tsai after her daughter and husband were also cured of their problems. We are grateful that Dr.Tsai helped us. My son has been suffering from severe eczema ever since he was one month old. We have seen several western medince doctors and were always told to use hydrocortisone and wait until he outgrows it. But his eczema was so bad and whenever stopped using the steroid, his eczema came back even worse. He could not sleep well and cannot stop scratching himself to bleed. My wife and I realized that western medince cannot help him anymore. So we started looking for Chinese medicine doctors. We are Chinese but it did not help much on finding the good Chinese doctor. We saw another two Chinese doctors before seeing Dr. Tsai. We wasted more than 6 months on these two doctors. I even started reading Chinese medince books to try to cure my baby. We checked yelp and searched dr. Tsai in Chinese before making the appointment. He is very friendly and told us not to worry. He gave us some Chinese medicine and asked us to use Johnson Johnson aloe baby oil. And give us some anti itching ointment. We saw big big improvement after two days of taking the medicine. He basically just tell you to go to bed early, and eat healthy. That's pretty much it. And give you the same gel that he gives to everyone on here with allergic skin condition. Johnson baby oil gel aloe vitamin e, zudaifu cream, and yandaifurugao cream. If you have allergy on your face and acne prone skin I'd suggest you avoid it. However if your allergy is not on face then maybe this is ok for you. The cream may be too strong or bad in the long run for the sensitivity acne prone face. Google has a lot to say about these cream who knows if it is good or bad. I came in to get my cheeks and chin where I had this dry and red itchy spot developed. And I had no acne at the time, but I told him I used to grow a lot of acne. After two weeks of using his cream, and I began to stop using them and I immediately break out so bad that Ive ever seen in my life. When I went back to check again, he blame it on me going to bed too late and eating unhealthy. He just none stop repeating to go to bed before 10:30 PM and don't eat this and that. I used to go to bed at 4am every single day and eat mcdonald's every week before I first visit him and never break out like this. I do have acne prone skin, but my acne has been at its best in my life before I visit. Then later on I found out it is the cold weather that caused the problem with redness, dry, and itching. He shouldn't have made me apply all these cream and mineral oil all over my face. Instead I should've only apply on the red spots. As for the expensive herb that he made me drink twice a day... I'm not sure what are in them, but they didn't help my cheeks or chin's redness, and certainly not helping with acne because I've never stopped drinking them. I only stopped the oil and cream and break out after. I believe he is good person and know his stuff, but I don't think acne prone skin on the face is safe with the cream he gives you. read more
