I felt that my experience was subpar in comparison with what I could see from Linda, the masseuse that was working my mom's feet non-stop. I was making light conversation with Harry who often paused throughout. This was noticable to my mom who made mention of it to me in another language even though I was aware. I didn't want to make a fuss and said all was good. The foot massage was decent. I had higher expectations though considering it's specialized and geared towards feet but basically felt that I could have gotten a great full body massage at my regular spot with a foot massage included. Harry noticed swelling in one of my calves and was careful when working my leg. He pointed out plantar fasciitis, which I've also pondered as having. It was refreshing to see that he was observant to these subtle differences. My mom enjoyed her massage greatly in spite of the sensitivity she experienced as a result of tense muscles and tender points. Now this is where things get murky.. At the time of my booking, the lady who was booking us in mentioned that instead of purchasing another Groupon, to buy direct from the store and they would match the price I paid for the Groupon for another massage. When I brought this up to the two ladies at the front reception, seeing as I was keen on purchasing another two (one for mom who obviously enjoyed it and to give myself and the place another chance), I was told that this was incorrect and that I could not receive another Groupon massage. I was trying to explain that it wasn't for another Groupon but based on the information relayed to me, that a price match for two reflexology massages would be honoured. The point was completely missed as I kept getting told that the deal is based on a body massage, which made no sense to me and as such, didn't pursue the matter further. The place is clean and the area we were seated in is comfortable. We sat on leather sofa chairs resembling massage chairs. Would have been amazing had they really been. I liked that they maintain hygiene by placing plastic bags in wooden pails as opposed to a foot basin. Employees are nice. Not everyone speaks English well so communicating poses as a challenge, especially when you're trying to understand why pressure points are achy, which ones and ways to alleviate the tension.

I opted for the usual combo, 30 min reflexology and 60 minutes shiatsu. Her technique was quite good and she was able to muster some decent pressure which is what I was after. At this point I have to admit that I'm getting a little confused about which one is which as they are all starting to look very similar. To add to the confusion, some of the staff move around so if you find someone you would like to use again, you need to ask for their card and contact. They sometimes work at one spa, and then move to a different one in the area so you need to ask for their availably and not assume anything. As well, their business cards may be from another spa, and not the one you were in. And since their technique and training vary widely, it helps to know what you're in for. The reflexology was done in the massage room, which wasn't quite as good since she skipped the soaking in hot water part, which is good in that there's more time for massage, but bad in that the soaking seems to help relax your feet and feels great! Ask about the soaking when you put in your order as you can choose to have the feet first, or vice versa. And ask if they include soaking in the procedure. Nice spot in the north strip of Chinatown!

As a reflexology addict, I have been to many foot spas for decades. I would say, this place was the…read moreworst so far. Many places are "hole in the wall" environment, which is the case here. But I do not mind it, because I focus on massage itself than luxurious embellishments which is not relevant for me as long as I have good, to-the-point deep tissue massage. I was here on a weekday few weeks ago, around 2pm. Getting appointment was easier than other reflexology places, as many places want advanced bookings. I asked for a package with body massage and reflexology here. It started with body massage - I expected deep tissue massage but it felt just gentle rubbing with slow kneading. So, I said to the masseur that I prefer more pressure - then in a few seconds, without any words, she started to apply pressures that were too strong to the point where I had to stop. I would say it was violent. I may be wrong, but I felt that she was upset by my asking for more pressure. It was too strong and later when I went home, I found bruise on the shoulder. I had to apply muscle pain relief ointment for a few days. And reflexology - I expected targeted pressure to specific points on the back of the feet, but the masseur kept rubbing my calf and instep. Again, I asked for pressure to the sole of my feet. She did not target pressure to the points - just rubbed harder on my sole a few minutes. Then she was back to gentle rubbing on my calf and instep. After the massage, she brought hot towel to wrap my feet to finish up, which was VERY hot. After this process, she threw the towels onto the floor, and left, that was it. I felt harmed rather than relaxed. And felt miserable. Probably, I had a bad luck, because many people review this place positively. But I just wanted to leave this review as there may be a gap between like-minded customers' expectations and what they can actually offer.

The place was clean and the rooms were private. Seating area looked very nice. I really enjoyed my foot rub but I did find the shoulder massage was mediocre. I don't think the therapist was targeting the right spots. Perhaps getting one of the other staff might have been better. Other than that, it was a good price.

My first impression is that this is the most legit spa I've seen in Chinatown so far. Even their business card says "accept insurance" on it so someone there must have a RMT license and adhere to the rules enough to keep their license. Now that I've tried reflexology, I'm hooked on that and find it relaxing and a great way to get in the mood for a massage. It helps to be in the right mood for a massage to be effective. If it takes a half hour into the massage to get that way, then that's less time for the massage to do the most good. I had a smartly-dressed more mature woman named Lucy take care of me, and she told me to try and sleep or relax with the reflexology and turned the lights right down to pretty dark which was great and worked a treat. Since they tend to massage up your calves it's almost a good idea to take your pants off, or wear light sweatpants so they aren't fighting their way down during the reflexology. Next the massage and her technique was quite impressive. She wasn't a large person but amazingly strong and could boss my body around without a problem. I appreciated how she could grab a leg or other part and shake it like you sometimes want to shake sense into someone (but can't) and in this case my body needed some sense shaken into it, so wow I'll be considering Lucy as my go-to for the best value in Chinatown massage done right! I didn't see it on the sign in the room, but at the desk they listed a 90-min massage as an option, which would be awesome especially coupled with another 30-min of reflexology beforehand. King Thai Massage did not mention that they would not be covered by SunLife and when my husband put the claim in through later that night it was rejected as King Thai Massage is a delisted provider. I am now out $60 on something I assumed would be 100% covered. I requested some accommodation by just refunding me the $25 RMT premium and the location refused. Needless to say I will never go back and I hope to warn others ahead of time as well.

The therapist should cover whole of your body and concentrate on your pain points. Massage should have a relaxing effect and an instant relief in body-aches. I don't like therapist talking constantly during message. The massage pressure should be controlled either hard or gentle, but I hate when you ask for a hard massage and therapist just elbow your back for whole of the time. So Kelly's spa met all my expectations without saying. The therapist are professional and they will understand your pain area and cover your whole body from head to toe including hand and legs, giving a special treatment to your pain area, for me it was shoulders and neck.
