This was largely my fault for not using red shampoo like should've. Because of this I searched for a new salon to call home. Salon Bombshell popped up on my yelp search. I looked through their photos and website. I liked what I saw. What I liked even more was that they had the option to book online. I hate making phone calls so this was magnificent. I booked a consultation with Anna and excitingly waited for the day. I came prepared with my inspiration photo. Initially I wanted to color correct my red but decided I just wanted to play off of it more. After looking at my hair and the photo, Anna told me it was definitely achievable. The only color she couldn't promise was the yellow. I was good with that as long as the result was as close as it could be. We agreed on an appointment and I eagerly counted down the days. The day of Anna was running a bit behind but it wasn't an issue. I would wait all day if I had to. That's how excited I was. We were only delayed for a bit and then it was my turn. We first attempted to bleach my tips in hopes of lightening the faded red I had. Well, Pravana apparently bonds very well. The bleach barely had any effect. Well, plan b. She would add the colors as planned and we'd just skip the yellow. I was 100% ok with that since, you know, I knew the yellow wouldn't happen and my photo was really just an inspiration. Anna came up with a brilliant idea, though. She would dye a few tape in extensions yellow and add them in at a later date. Excellent! I booked another appointment to get that done. While waiting I messaged her asking if we could also do orange since that was part of the color palette I was looking to achieve. She agreed to it and I was thrilled. The day had arrived and I could barely contain my excitement. When the time came to take a look I was stunned. It. Was. Beautiful. My entire goal for my hair was to make it look like fire. She definitely hit the mark on that. The added extensions really worked well. I was so excited to show it off. Anna really worked some magic. If you're looking for a great stylist, I highly recommend Anna. She knows her stuff and was a pleasure to work with.

When Tammy does my hair, she makes the process as low maintenance as possible. She is careful never to color on top of hair that's already colored or highlighted. Hence, no damage. I am grateful for her expertise. My costs run between $55 and $90 depending on how much we are doing (highlights or no).

Had I known my hair cut was going to cost more then my highlights I would just have gone somewhere else or had my mom cut it. I understand prices are going up but 50 for a hair is too much.

The salons in tuscan village are all private and privately owned and operated. As a male, i wanted to venture out from the typical chop shops that are franchise owned and have less than experienced stylists cutting my hair. I ventured out of the comfort zone and crowded waiting rooms of a typical barber shop and hair salon to truly find a better experience. As a male patron, i loved the private shops inside tuscan village. A sneak peek into the life and world of women and how and where they go to reward, spoil and pamper themselves. 'Hair by Michelle' is owned by michelle favors, a former owner of multiple salons who is the answer to those bad hair days. During the summer of 2012, i attended this salon twice and both times i was happy not only with my cut but the attention i received and the amount of time. As a male patron one of my concerns is the amount of time that is spent because there are too many stylists who shouldn't be stylists in the first place not spending enough time on a head and making the person feel comfortable and giving them the time they deserve. The facilities are a former 'Albertson's' grocery store during the 1990's that was remodeled and re-opened as Tuscan Village Shops which (off the top of my head) probably has 30 independent salons and vendors inside the building. The concept, which i thought was cool was upscale compared to the traditional hair studios and cookie cutter franchises that we all grew up with. Now, since i have found this hidden gem of a salon, my task today is go get my haircut by a regular sports clips and weigh today's experience against these two experiences i have had at 'Hair by Michelle'. Appt is necessary as this is not a walk-in type of place. Since i grew up in Atascocita and have more than half of my friend base still centrally located in and around Atascocita, Humble and Kingwood, i would highly recommend 'Hair by Michelle' to any and all of my friends and family who are in and around the area.
