She gave a great cut and blow out and I have been back for my second appointment. I have been coming to this salon for years and today march 25, 2025 was the worst experience not with the service of my hair but with the service of the OWNER. I booked my appointment online like I normally do and came in for my appointment 15 minutes into my appointment. I get told that this is the fourth time that my kids have been asked to sit down. That I'm gonna have to leave because they don't allow Childern to be in the styling area. My kids were just sitting and they would stand up occasionally to come ask me a question. They weren't playing around. They weren't trying to touch anything. And I find it very insensitive coming from a man who doesn't have kids to tell me that. I need to be able to control my kids, they're not dogs. I didn't know about the policy because when you book, it doesn't say anything. I went back to his website and checked. It says when you click policies but not when you book. I've been coming here for years. I wouldn't think to check updated policies. Also on his website, it doesn't say that you'll be asked to leave because of your kids. If he really is that strict about kids then he needs to have a sign on his salon window and when you walk in! Seems like he has a problem with kids, not a problem with them being in the styling area. It's his establishment and he can have his rules! I understand the dangerous of kids running around in a salon, but my kids weren't doing that. Being told if they got up again, I would have to leave mid haircut is crazy. The owner Michael left after this warning, and everybody else in the salon didn't have an issue with my kids. My hairstylist was super sweet and another gentleman stylist tried to give them something to color with. If anything, the owner made my kids more uncomfortable to where they want to come with me. I definitely wasn't relaxed. I was uncomfortable after the situation and very surprised because it's not something I knew. I hope that before the owner respond something smart to this review that he uploads the video footage of what my kids were doing. That was so wrong but blur their faces, please! read more

I'm the type of person that lies whenever they get a bad haircut or a haircut that they don't like. I say I love it and then cry about it at home because I was too shy to speak up and say anything. So going in to see Kaci I showed her the picture of the haircut and my expectations were not super high because I had been let down so many times before. But this is the best haircut I have EVER gotten. It was exactly what I wanted and so much more. Not to mention Kaci is a sweetheart and made me feel so comfortable !! I haven't ever had the urge to leave reviews until my experience with this completely unprofessional salon today. Never in my life have I been so disrespected by someone whom is supposed to be in customer service, I would never speak to a customer the way that the owner spoke with me. I have been to many salons throughout a period of 8 years and this is the worst experience I have ever had. I left about an hour for my drive to my appointment at 2 pm, I still ended up being 13 minutes late because of traffic. (I was coming from work) Once I got there they immediately told me they would have to charge me 13 dollars because they charge a dollar per minute for someone whom is late - according to their policy. I understand appointments can get cancelled if they can't make it fit within the alotted time and I was fully anticipating that happening and was willing to accept that. I simply asked in response, is there somewhere that that was stated because I wasn't ever aware of that - or I missed it. If I had known I could have made other accommodations but I wasn't given that opportunity. Then the owner went through explaining their "policy" to me. I said I understand the reason for the policy, and don't necessarily disagree with you, I just feel like your clients should be made aware of it and not told as soon as they "Break the policy" that they will then be charged. (Still don't know where that policy was made known to me, he never answered my question). He went on to say "well you shouldn't have been late then", "you are wasting our time", and then my personal favorite - while mimicking a phone placed up to his ear, "Do you want us to call you and say, hey Kaitlin don't be late, be on time, like a kid?". I never said anything disrespectful to this man, I never raised my voice, I was being completely reasonable and cordial. I was honestly in shock that he thought that was okay to say to a customer. He then said "I'm done with this conversation, it's now 30 minutes past your appointment". Needless to say I will NEVER be returning. I could get better quality for half of the price, AND have someone treat their customers with respect. Just a comparison: I went to Amazing Lash Studio right after and they were the nicest people. They have a 10 minute grace period if you are running a little bit behind and - they had me fill out a policy page with all of their cancellation and late policies, which is how a business should be conducted. read more

Brendaly gave me an amazing haircut! Not only that but I felt like I left a 2 hour massage when I was done. She took her time with everything, It was so relaxing. I wish I could've sat there all day. I've never been happier with a haircut, a stylist and the entire vibe of the salon and all the employees. It's literally my favorite ever! Well, I'd give zero stars if I could. Spent hours there getting half head of highlights. When I first saw it I wanted to cry. I can't find a decent hair stylist in this area and I'm just beyond over it. When I saw it I'm sure I didn't come off well. Stylist went to get owner. He kept on telling me my hair was blonde. So I just paid and even tipped because he assured me it was the lighting in there. They both wanted me to go outside to look at it. 1. No. 2. Nuh-uh. 3. No flippin' way. It's no surprise I dye my hair. Like.. often. I use protein fillers and repair serums but it can only do so much for my fragile ends. Sometimes, you just got to bite the checkbook and shell out for a good hair cut- because it's rare you don't pay an arm and a leg for a quality cut. I scheduled an appointment because of an upcoming Christmas party that I wanted to look super fresh at. I was on my lunch break so time was of the essence. I explained this when I made my appointment but I still waited 20 minutes to be seated. I have extremely hard to manage hair, even the most experienced stylist takes an hour and a few choice words while trying to comb through it when it's wet. I was seated with Rachel, and we started chatting about the cut. So I've been rocking the uneven bob for a couple months now (one side shorter than the other) to add some diversity to my locks while they grow out. Explaining this, it seemed like she understood. I mean- I already have that cut, you're technically trimming around a template. After a few snips and very little hair on the ground she said she was done. She blew out my hair (curling in the ends and making it look full and shiny) and then for some reason she thought it'd be good to flat iron it. So much so it was static clinging to my face and every cowlick I have was on display. Insert #1 here. My coworker had come with me to get her eyebrows done. The guy was going on to her about the products (they really pushed the products here, it was irritating) and everything seemed to be fine. Until it was time to leave and I realized half of one of her eyebrows was missing. Insert #2 here. Getting back to the office I decided to check out my cut, since I hadn't in my haste not to be late.... Let's go ahead and insert a HUGE #3 here. There was no gradual or blending in this cut. It looked like someone just chopped off 3 inches of hair, passing by, just to be a jerk. I wanted to cry. I had spent so much money for this hack job and now I'm held up in the work bathroom with a pair of safety scissors desperately trying to fix it. I got it half way decent and wore an updo to the party but it's only been recently that I can get the hair to the right of my face to stay in a pony tail. I'll never be back. Oh and Shear Madness? I got a #4 for ya... You suck. read more

I was recommended to check Shear Madness out by a friend of mine who had nothing but positive things to say about this establishment and one of their stylist, Daph. The cut and color were both horrific. I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone. The Color: Over the years I've learned that in order to get the best results in regards to your hair is to bring the stylist as many pictures as you have to communicate what you want. With that being said, I had four photos of the hair color I wanted. Needless to say, after two hours with chemicals on my hair, my hair was NO WHERE NEAR WHAT I ASKED FOR. The Cut: I have a pixie cut and as I'm trying to grow it out I get occasional cuts to keep the mullet and sides trimmed. Once again, I have multiple pictures indicating the style and trim that I was trying to achieve. The stylist does not know how to cut hair... At all. She continuously asked me where she wanted me to have it cut. I was teaching her how to cut a pixie cut - it was strange and clear she was not experienced. After a few hours I had to call the salon and ask for a refund which they gave. The same friend recommended another mutual friend of ours to the same stylist and her hair was messed up as well. Great place to get a haircut. I just tried this shop out and was very impressed by the friendly service and skilled stylists. It's about half the price of the previous place I used, so that was a nice surprise. It feels like they are going for the "Sport Clips" style of salon, with TV's available at each station and a more relaxed atmosphere. I give them an A+ read more

I have been getting my hair done & all 3 of my kids hair done here ever since we moved to Kingwood. These stylists are in a league of their own!! They know how to communicate with teens & negotiate what they want with what mom wants. They know how to give you a hairstyle that suits you that you can replicate at home. Daph & Brendaly have done formal hairstyles for my teen daughter & her friend that made them feel like royalty. Mike does a Brazilian blowout on me and it makes my hair look so great even when we are at the lake in the Texas humidity!!! The Moroccan oil products they use are awesome as well, they last a long time, are great for your hair, & are affordable. When I am at Shear Madness, I am with my friends, the staff have become my friends. They know how to make you feel welcome. read more
