I was recommended to come to this place, but when I mentioned it to my friend who recommended it, she said they must have changed owners. If I had known that, I probably would have looked elsewhere. The ladies were nice enough when suggesting and measuring me, but the final results were disappointing. When I received the items, I tried them on, and one was cut too much, making it too tight. Another item was supposed to have a button added, but instead, they attached a hook with a piece of string that's already about to come off. The only decent job was adding a zipper, which turned out alright. I've tried calling and even left a voicemail, but I've received no response. I spent $60 for these minor alterations, which turned out to be half-done. I had to keep asking for discounts, and they barely budged. I should have known something was off when they tried to overcharge another lady before measuring me--lucky for her, she left. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! These people are so unprofessional. I came the day I was told my dress would be ready for pick up. And she could not even locate my dress then finds it - never started on it. The lady here seems aimlessly confused all the time. I had to leave and come back hours later and told her I am not paying the full amount she started yelling at me. She called her boss who also did absolutely nothing. When I asked her what her boss said she had the audacity to say "you didn't hear you know English right" ........ I will never recommend such a dirty, rude, unprofessional place to anyone. I paid them even know they absolutely did not deserve even a dollar. read more

After reading other reviews it looks like it's common place for them to ruin your clothes and adamantly deny any responsibility and blame the customer for bringing in damaged clothes. Are they nuts ! TN Tailor Alterations is a bit out of my way, but for same day service at no extra charge, I'll make it in my way! I was shopping with a man friend this weekend and he snagged a killer deal for a suit at the Macy's at Memorial City Mall. The super fly salesman (very old skool) recommended we go to TN Tailor down the street (it's located in the Bally Fitness/T-Mobile/Starbucks shopping center along Katy Freeway and Memorial City Mall Way). "You sure we can get this done for the weekend?" I asked. "She'll probably get it done for you today," he answered ... and she did. Believe it or not, we arrived at 5 and by six it was good to go. (*They do all sorts of clothing, including leather and bridal gowns. TN also is a cleaners, and I saw a sign for 99-cent to $1.99 services.) Fast, friendly and cheap. Just how I like it. read more

Overall my favorite location if I need to wash clothes. They're usually not super busy when I go, which is perfect. Place isn't air conditioned the best and use a lot of fans throughout the place to circulate air. $4.50 for the big machines, $3.50 for the mid sized ones. $.25/6 minutes of dry time, takes about $1.50 for a large load, or $2.00 for a king sized comforter to dry. Prices at the register for things like detergent, softener, dryer sheets and things of that nature aren't terribly priced but they only take cash. read more

I brought it in a large amount of shorts and two pairs of pants to be altered, after the first round of alters a pair of wide leg denim pants and several pairs of shorts needed further alteration. Which sometimes is the case with certain items, no big deal. When I returned I tried on my items and the wide leg denim pants had something spilled on them all over the thigh part of the pants. I alerted the lady helping me check out, she just said she didn't do anything and didn't know what happened. She took them to the back to attempt to clean, she was able to get the crusted mystery substance off the pants but the pants were left with a stain. I told her I was unhappy and she just repeated she wasn't there when the pants were worked on. Needless to say I won't return read more

Would give zero stars for the horrible work done by these ladies. They've worked on my husbands suit 6 years ago and we came back since they did a good job then with great turn around time. We went in to bring in pairs of pants that needed to be taken in for my husband and the turn around was the next day which we were impressed about. Each pant cost roughly 150-250 a piece. Boy did they EFF up. They measured it with his boots on and confirmed the length etc with him. We realized when I picked them up for him the pant was shorter than it should have been. It seems like they didn't give a crap! We will NOT be coming back to this establishment and it's best to go elsewhere for the alterations. So appalled and disappointed! read more

I dropped off several shirts to be altered. I went through the normal routine of having the "tailor" pin the shirt the way it would be fitted. I returned 2 days later and the shirts had remained untouched and unfinished. I noticed racks of clothes in the lobby and realized that they must be busy. I was asked to return an hour later but when I did they only managed to alter one shirt and begin cutting the other shirts. I looked in the back and observed what is essentially a sweat shop of 4-5 Asian women at sewing machines in a windowless room. I complained that my shirt was altered with a "straight stitch" instead of a "flat stitch" (which is a stronger stitch and is employed by most manufacturer). The tailor didn't seem to understand so I explained to her that I want the same stitch that the shirts had before. I had previously made this point clear when I dropped off the shirts. I returned a day later to find all but one of my shirts altered too tight with a "straight stitch" with the excess fabric splayed loosely to either side. The one shirt that they attempted a "flat stitch" was also too tight. There was no apology and no explanation for ruining my shirts. This place provides basic amateur tailoring service, with poor project tracking, management and customer service. read more

Dropped off a blouse on Monday mid day and they said it would be Wednesday before they could complete it... guess that might be standard in this area. Also have taken in some fabric for pillow cases and they were crazy expensive to just see three little seams together. That being said they are nice and the place is fairly clean... so perhaps you will have a better experience than we did. read more

I had been coming here for almost 9 years all the way back to their old location. I won't be giving my business to them anymore. They used an existing g out of pants to get measurements and when I picked up pants they were too long and they didn't use the cuffs for pants as they always had. I would accepted that to just a bad day and let them make them the right length but they wanted to charge me again. Only thing she would say is it wasn't their fault that they were too long and wouldn't even acknowledge the issue with the pants cuff. I guess Byers beware. I will find another tailor. read more

I took two pairs of jeans to be hemmed here. HUGE MISTAKE. They literally turned the pants into capris. No exaggerating, they are mid-calf length on me. The pants were not cheap either, a $150 brand new pair of Levis, purchased 2 weeks ago at Stag Provisions, and a $200 pair of Hudson jeans. Not only did they royally mess up on the alterations and RUIN both pairs of perfectly good and expensive pants, but there was NO APOLOGY from the woman/owner, and she tried to tell me repeatedly that the Levis I purchased were from Marshall's and only worth $49!!! When I told her I bought them for $150 two weeks ago, she called me a LIAR to my face, and said that she wouldn't believe the receipt if I brought it in. When I returned to pick up the ruined pants (might as well), they had hideously attempted to sew the cut off portions back on the pants (they are now 'Frankenstein pants' and still completely unwearable.) I am so frustrated and not sure what else I can do, it doesn't seem worth the headache to keep going back and fighting with them. I'm out $350 dollars and have been called a liar, I guess the least I can do is try to warn other customers away. read more

I have had multiple suit jackets altered, pants hemmed, and even dry cleaning done here. I did not have a problem with any of the services, and I was very satisfied. The employees here are friendly and helpful, and as Farrah noted, they do very quick work. As a final note, I have not had trouble with parking in this complex. Although it's the same parking lot as Bally's, there are almost always spots open. I will definitely be returning the next time I need alterations. read more

Don't do it! I brought in a dress and she told me she would have it done by Wednesday ( the day I needed it) I came in at four she told me to come back at six thirty. I arrived and asked for the dress. Surprise it still isn't there. After a all out yelling war between the workers. She tells me I need to wait 30 more min. Some one picked up the wrong dress. It's already 7 at this point. So I ask the lady for a discount. I tell her I don't have time to just sit around for an hour. She says no that this is more work for her ! Hilarious it's THERE FAULT. By far this was a great experience! I dropped a new Calvin Klein suit off, I was NERVOUS, but they were extremely sweet and I LOVE the way it fits now. I will be going back for any and all alterations. Great pricing and VERY QUICK service, got my suit back in less than five days! If I could give negative stars, I would. I brought a brand new suit to be tailored, and 1 pair of slacks in addition. When I got it back, my new suit was missing the pants. For 2 weeks she says she can't find them, several times insinuating I'm a liar. She refused to fix the problem, didn't even offer to refund the tailor expenses on pants she lost. My $600 suit is now half a suit, and basically worthless. I'm actually considering small claims court. Terrible business. Half ass alterations. Terrible customer treatment. I would never recommend T.N. alterations to anyone. The customer service was horrible and they never followed through with the alteration. I purchased a boys tie for some photos and needed it to be altered. As with a previous review, we went through the normal routine of pining the tie for alteration. I was told to come back in 3 days. I came back in 4 days to find that nothing was done. The lady working there told me to come back in the evening and it would be done. She also told me it would cost extra. Extra? For late work? I came back in the evening to find they still did NOTHING. I don't think they had any intention of doing the work. I asked why didn't anything get done. I was told "I'm sorry." DO NOT GO THERE! You get what you pay for, it's cheap. I brought in my favorite pair of jeans, and a pair of black pants. They were $10 ea. which I think is a great price. Especially because they have same day service. I dropped the pants off, watched a movie and shopped, by the time I was done, so were the pAnts. The pants were still a little longer than I wanted, but I did want them above the ankle, and they were more where she thought they should be. I will be taking a few more things back to be hemmed, but I probably won't be taking any of my really nice stuff there, or would take anything that needs more than just to have the length taken up. read more

Don't waste your time here. I've come here before because it's close to my house. I brought in a formal dress and they somehow altered it the wrong length when I came to pick it up. Second time I brought in pants and those were $10 to be hemmed. Third time, I brought in 2 pairs of pants and a jumpsuit. I assumed they were $10 each since the other pair of pants was $10. I come to pick it up and they try to charge me $60. After a lot of arguing she says she'll take off tax ($6). Ridiculous. Not giving them my business anymore since they have proved to be unreliable twice. read more

I had a horrible experience! I took a dress to be fitted since it was to big. The lady helping me put some pins on the side and suggested to do the bottom and the cleavage as well. I said I liked the cleavage and that I liked my dress long, she insisted about the length and asked if I was dancing. Since I will be dancing, I decided to follow her advice and let her work a little bit on the length. When I piked it up, it was still to big, a new lady said it needed work from the shoulders to fit better. When I came back again and after the shoulders were worked on, the dress became too short. There was no way to fix that since the fabric had been cut. When I explained everything to both ladies, the first one called me a liar and literally turned her back on me. What is more disappointing than the poor job was that she wouldn't even step up and acknowledge it. Now I have to shop for a new dress and I only have 2 days. read more

The customer service and attitude offered to me at T.T. Tailor was truly awful, and represented the worst retail experience I've had over 17 years of living in Houston. I had a few minor alterations to a recently purchased suit, and searched online for a reasonably priced tailor. I stumbled on a Val-Pak discount for T.T. Tailor advertising a 20% "Grand Opening Discount." I proceeded to the shop with the coupon in hand, and was told the suit would be ready later that week. Upon returning to the shop several days later to pick up the suit, the surly woman running the shop refused to honor the discount. She initially claimed that the shop had never authorized the publication of the discount, and made me wait as she called the Val-Pak office to no avail. She then insisted on calling the shop's owner multiple times, repeatedly reaching their voicemail. When I explained that I had brought in the discount at the time of drop-off, she accused me of lying. When I then mentioned that it had been her colleague (who was also in the shop at the time) who had helped me then, she abruptly told me "he doesn't work here." By this point, the issue wasn't the discount but instead the horrible attitude of the staff. After 30 minutes (during which the woman would abruptly leave me at the counter), her colleague finally relented and processed the payment with the appropriate discount. I will never do business with this store again, and caution anyone looking for a good deal there that it's likely not worth the trouble. read more

I left several items, the alterations were good (nothing great or above and beyond most tailors in Houston); however, they lost a unique hakama obi (the belt worn around a hakama) that I left to be dry cleaned. After many weeks of trying to get an answer, I did not receive back my belt or an offer to replace (reimburse the cost). I will not be going there again. read more

The WORST PLACE!!!!! This place was recommended to me for my wedding dress. The first fitting went good. The main lady seemed very knowledgable about doing wedding dresses and made me feel very comfortable and trustworthy to leave my wedding dress with her. When I went in for my second fitting there was a brown spot on the boob part, there was pink spots on the bottom and there were very noticeable pinholes on the back!!!!! It seemed like they were eating and drinking when they were doing my dress. Really!!!! I was so upset about it and asked her how it happened and what she was going to do to fix it and she told me to use a Tide Pen to get the brown spot out. She did not apologize or take responsibly for essentially ruining my wedding dress!!! And she charged me $220. I will never recommend this place and hope that this doesn't happen again to anyone else. read more

I took 4 pairs of pants to be altered along with other garments. I told the women how I wanted them hemmed. When I got them back they were too short and I told her so. She said no no they are good. I said no I want them longer. Long story short she charged me $5/pair to REDO their mistake. I spent $150 in all. I looked at her and said, really your going to lose my business over $20? This is the best tailor I've come across by far. Very friendly and good price ($20 pants tailored to fit). I have yet to have a stitch come undone. I took an Ann Taylor dress that was lined and I can't even tell where it was tailored but it now fits perfect. Today I took my new jeans in to get hemmed at 9:30 and they were ready to go at 2pm. Getting in and out takes less than 10 minutes and they're open 7 days a week. read more

They lost my dry cleaning clothes and although I have a claim ticket they are refusing to compensate me for the loss. They say someone else picked them up. Most likely, they gave them away to the wrong customer since there is no organization at the back of the store to track orders. I will file a claim with small claims court if she refuses to compensate me for my loss. No apology just denial of their mistake. read more

Unfortunately, I will ever never use this tailor again. I took in six pairs of men's shorts to have them altered, as we were going out of town on vacation. When I picked them up, the lady mentioned that one pair of shorts needed additional work and I could pick it up the following day. This is the only issue she mentioned. I picked up the remaining 5 pairs. The following day, I picked up the extra pair (the day before going on vacation). While out of town, my husband realized that no alteration was done to a pair of shorts. When I came back, I mentioned this to the attendant; she admitted that no alteration was done to that pair, but she further stated that I never brought in that pair, that it must have been another pair. I listed and described the six pairs of shorts that I brought in, and she remembered clearly the need to pick up one pair separately. I was not asking for a refund, but just wanted to leave them with her so that the needed alterations could be done. She charged me for 6 pairs, never mentioned any issue with that particular pair, remembered the facts, but implied that I was trying to cheat by bringing in a "new" pair. Her behavior was very dissappointing, I had brought in before a couple of pieces, and I was bringing in a couple of other pieces, but decided not to leave anything with her anymore. Even though this tailor is very close to my house, I will never use them again nor recommend them to anybody. read more

If you have no special requests or problems you might have a good experience but expect to pay a lot for it. If you want something done fast expect to double pay for it. Son had suit altered but was rush job. She doubled the price. Took skirts in to be hemmed. She measured wrong and I kept telling her. Gave her the benefit of the doubt and let her hem them. Came back too long like I thought. Told her to fix it and she yelled back she would take 5 more inches off which I knew was too much. So took them home and determined they were 2 inches too long, not 5. Took them back because I already paid a lot and gave instructions to only hem 2 inches. We argued that i would have to pay again but she finally gave in. When I came back when she said to they had not been hemmed. Came back again and they couldn't find them. Came back again and finally got my skirts. Got home only to find they were not re-hemmed at all. Did not go back, afraid they will lose them for good. Other people had similar problems when I was there. Many women in the shop in the back. Very little English. Very difficult to work with. I went in the back to look for my skirts. Place is a mess. Trash and clothes piled everywhere. read more
