Destroyed my deadstock Chippewa shell cordovan boots. Painted them brown from the original ox blood, painting over the contrast stitching. Didn't even shave down the sole to match the boot footprint. When I came in asking for a refund so I could get it fixed up elsewhere, they called the cops on me. I have gone to many boot and shoe repair places and each has their strengths. This one has okay prices--not incredible but anymore $90 is probably a resole standard. Not bad. Very straightforward process. Turn around time was very very quick. He had my Danner crepe sole on by the next day. The boots are very worn and this is their third resole. I don't think I'll go back. The workmanship seemed very mediocre. Sole-edge sanding was quick and crude, stitching in rear was just applied over top rather than removed and reapplied. The boots did not get cleaned up at all. Sometimes that comes with the repair. I get it--probably thought they were a very worn out pair of work boots and I was looking to get one more sole out of them. But I guess I was hoping for a little more. Seemed like a decent guy though. read more

You get what you pay for. This place is worth the money. My favorite boots that I bought 12 years ago are still in amazing condition but my zippers broke. They've been sitting in my closet for about 2 years and my friends recommended taking them here. The owner has been there for many years and is very fair pricing and does an excellent job on either your shoes, your purse, belts, horse belts Etc. I took my sequined black person to have the sequins that were loose fixed. He said it would only take him 10 minutes and it did and he did an excellent job and the price was more than fair. Came in for emergency heal replacements after a DIY gone wrong, leaving the metal studs of the worn out heel tips stuck in the heels. Since the DIY-er was too nervous to drill it out himself, I made him take it to a professional. We ended up stopping by around 2:50 PM on a Friday and were told that he was closing shop in 10 minutes but he'd be able to swap out the heels in 5 minutes if we could wait. Unfortunately he broke his bit in the process so we had to come back Monday anyways after he got a new bit. Pickup went without incident and the replacement heels were better quality than what DIY-er was going to install at home so win-win. Pros: quick, easy, affordable, no nonsense shoe repair by someone who really knows his shoes Cons: cash only, store hours are a bit unpredictable (they aren't officially posted anywhere and the owner sometimes leaves early for the day) and calling ahead to check if they're open doesn't work either as no ones manning the phone and there's no answering machine read more

Overall I am happy with the services I've had done here. I've had shoes cleaned, soles replaced or repaired, shining done, etc. To have boots cleaned or shined is $15, shoes are less. The owner asks you to pay up front in cash or via check- which is fine. One pair of shoes was returned a different shade of blue than when it went in-not the end of the world and I did not complain because it was done. But I was not thrilled. If you have a unique color be sure to specify clear polish. This is close to an area that I am in frequently so the location in convenient so I'll keep coming back. I prefer to buy high quality footwear and have them serviced rather than buy new garbage shoes every year. I have several pairs of $200-300 shoes and boots that are still in rotation 5+ years later. read more

Went to this place today to get a strap added to my moms shoe so that she can wear them with her brace.. owner says 50.00 unless you want to buy new shoes (these are brand new shoes) .. I tell him no thank you I will take them to Eugene since I have family there and already go there that they can do it for 25.00 .. this jerk comes back with ya Eugene isn't as upscale as we are lol.. then he refers me to the shoe repair in Tigard which has horrible reviews .. funny that he thinks he is upscale I will not recommend this place or ever go back there again read more

I would give it a zero if allowed. This was my first time using this cobbler and he ruined my nubuck boots! They are a suede kind of look. I asked him to clean and to apply some all weather spray. When I went to pick them up he had polished them to a leather shine finish. The boots were unrecognizable. He said he could fix them so I gave him a chance. I was more than sure they were ruined so I went and bought a new pair for comparison. When I returned for a second time with the comparison he denied any wrong doing and said that they were not even the same style of boot. As a professional, he should have explained that they would not look the same after removing the stain when I dropped them off. He refused to reimburse me for the $120 dollars I requested after purchasing showing him cost of the replacements. He said to take him to court! Then he opened the door asking me to leave. He proceeded to lock the door behind me and shut off the lights. Then another employee brought the damaged shoes and my $20 cleaning fee reimbursement out to the curb. What a mess! I called a few shoe repairs in regards to fixing my broken purse strap. They'd either say it was 1. impossible or 2. very expensive and sometimes 3. very expensive AND impossible. Yes, let me pay you a great deal of money, much more than I paid for the purse, so you can attempt the "impossible." One place complained big time because I had tried to super glue the dang strap which now made their job so much harder. Oh boo hoo! I should mention that apparently super glue isn't as super as it claims, it can't glue a lot of stuff despite pictures of much sturdier heavy duty items it supposedly works on. Then I called Val at this location. He said "no problem!" Brought in the purse, still, no problem! He was FAST, charged me next to nothing and did a fine job. He even said I can bring it back no charge if I have a problem with the strap again. Now that I know of this place, I will be bringing in my shoes too when they fall apart.
