After winding around the interior we found the display area. Not only did I find handgrips but a myriad of knives, cutlery & forks and more in a small sales area. The craftsmen were plying their trade on the other side of an open wall. For those who want instant gratification they have a lot to choose from. I had a specific goal in mind. As difficult as it was I stayed away from the other temptations. I found a beautiful set of wooly mammoth tusk grips(10-15000yrs old). I had an idea of the 2nd pair - blue mammoth tooth, turquoise, meteorite, one made up of mineral deposits, or a combination. Well, until I went into a back room and was shown a mammoth tooth in red/pink. Red/pink it is. It'll be 4-6 weeks until they're ready. You can't rush good craftsmanship. Regardless of what you select, price is commensurate with the level of craftsmanship. Unique, exotic or unusual in knives, cutlery, jewelry or handgrips it's probably here.

Today they had almost exactly what I wanted. Almost exactly is as good you can get from merchants these days and that started long before Corvid. When I entered the store, I stopped at the front to ask directions. I waited almost ten minutes while one of the staff completed what sounded like a personal cell phone call. When she finished, she looked past me and waved forward another customer who was ready to check out. I interrupted that by asking my question. The staffer was not pleased but did direct me to the department I was seeking. In a few minutes, I returned to the checkout with $100+ worth of merchandise. Another clerk asked if I would like a 20% discount in exchange for my phone number and email address. $20+ seemed a fair exchange. When I got my receipt, the discount was only $6. When I questioned that, the clerk informed me that the discount was only on one item. Her tone was condescending with the implication that I should have understood that. I am home now and there is already a call on my answering machine and two messages in my email. For $6 I have invited them to invade my privacy. However, for $14, they have lost my business forever.

I was reviewing the online listing, trying to gather pertinent info to share with the client - ie cost, colors, availability, shipping time in transit so they could make an informed decision. The shipping time wasn't listed online but I saw they had a customer service chat function. I sent my question on shipping time and waited a minute for someone to connect. They sent "?????" and "are you there?" right when they connected. Weird. I wrote back hello and they said they needed to know what color to answer. I shared the potential color. They said it was in stock, goes out within week of the order, and ships fedex. I asked how long it would be expected to take in transit. (This was my question initially). They said they don't make any promises. I said is there an estimation... 2 weeks, 5 months, roughly what should we plan for? They then wrote "why would you say that when I just said one week?" But as you recall, I was told after ordering, they ship out within one week. They never said the timing in transit. Then they disconnected. I was dumbfounded! Needless to say I absolutely will not recommend my client orders from Bon Marche. Hope this customer service person has the day they deserve.

Defective items and threatening customer service. This does not follow US trade law, where regardless of a claim or not they are responsible for non-defective items. When I reminded them of their responsibility and graciously laid out options, including sending back for a normal return, they called me at SEVEN PM at night to threaten me and my family like thugs. I cannot get over the disgusting behavior of such thugs, this store is like a criminal enterprise. They may just get defective merchandise from Bon Marche and try to pawn it off onto customers who do not know better. Avoid this vendor at all costs - they don't even provide a price advantage vs. the Fermob website, or even Pottery Barn. I tried to support a small business - however an attempted scam and criminal behavior is what I was rewarded with. I may have to file a restraining order against their bizarre and undignified customer service representative, Jean Phillipe. Don't waste time, just buy from Fermob directly.

Our project turned into a bit of an archeological adventure--we discovered so much hiding under the walls of our old adobe kitchen--but Sven served as a constant guide. Whether it was navigating floor or countertop choices or troubleshooting design issues as they popped up during the work, he was always there to help coordinate with our contractors. In fact, he was so skilled and helpful that even our own contractors were impressed; they actually added him to their roster of design consultants. The finished project turned out great! The installers got it all done smoothly in 1 day without any issues. My new "downsized" house had laminate countertops and I hated them. Now I have beautiful Quartz tops. I just LOVE them!!! All day long my heart was pounding like a woman in "crazy love" as I watched my new tops being installed! The anticipation of Quartz tops finally in my kitchen was so huge! LOL!!! Now I can't keep my hands off my countertops either as I keep looking at them and feeling how smooth and beautiful they are.
