Builders Source has been very good to work with - we recently purchased a new dual fuel range and built in fridge which required electrical and plumbing mods to fit the new appliances. During the modifications time frame, they gave us a new loaner fridge free of charge. The service so far has been excellent and we are hopeful the new appliances qualify will match! We have ordered from this place for years, in fact in 2012, when we built our home, we had them supply every appliance. Great prices and service, great install too. Recently we ordered a Washer and Dryer and a bit later Microwave. Skip the big box stores, these folks are local and they take pride in their service and installs. i stopped by one day and ended up purchasing a range, refrigerator and with the stove there was a special for a free dishwasher. Luca was the sales person and he was very helpful that day but has been a nightmare to work with ever since, in fact it was his advice to express my lack of satisfaction on social media. The showroom is beautiful and they have a wide range of appliances to fit anyones budget. Something odd is going on with the ethics of this store. : ( The appliances are being sold as "new" but there is strong evidence that they are really used and repaired appliances. Bought a "new" Electrolux washer and dryer and right away the "clean washer" cycle kept coming up. I researched this and found that the clean cycle option only comes on after almost 50 loads of laundry have been washed in the machine. We considered keeping the washer but then suddenly the clothes would not spin properly. I called Builders Source and they did send out a replacement. I asked the delivery man how the broken machine is deposed of and he quickly replied it will be sent out to be repaired. Making a long complaint longer then the heating element went out on the dryer. I hardly could believe this with a "new" dryer! So once again I called and asked for a brand new dryer and this time the employee response was chilly and submissive. So the "new" replacement dryer we received smelled terribly of cigarette smoke (never experienced something like this before) and the dryer door is sagging. It's very difficult to believe that Builders Source Appliance Gallery is selling new merchandise. I expressed the odd cigarette smell to them when they sent a text asking for feedback and there was no response. Very sad ethics here! read more

My dryer broke and left me and a very sick relative in a tough situation. Builders Source (Jason) problem solved repair or replace. The dryer needs to fit an unusual space and required reconfiguring a new appliance. Within 48 hours, I have a new dryer, carefully delivered (Robert), installed, and steadied. New fridge. I live 93 miles from the store in Santa Fe. The delivery guys got lost and showed up late in the day. I can understand because Google and the other map sites have mislabeled our road. French door fridge and freezer, and the lower right freezer won't get cold enough to make ice. Control panel won't let me control the freezer temp. It keeps cycle through the same 4 temps. OK no problem, I'll call and set up a technician. Twice..... Even offered to cover the mileage and sweeten the deal for the technician. It's too far I was told. Not too far to sell a unit and deliver it, but too far to service a problem. Crickets....... I really would have preferred a 100% functioning unit. We're nice people, we never complain because we actually like the pace of life in New Mexico and understand that things take longer. Our phone towers burned in a recent fire but taking five minutes in an email to explain why we can't schedule a repair visit doesn't seem unreasonable. 93 miles... Crickets..... I'm still shocked at the transaction I just had with the manager of this store, so decided to write a review now. This is rare for me. I can't remember the last unfavorable review I felt compelled to write. I bought a washer-dryer months also, paid for the unit early while awaiting delivery. My contractor, as a courtesy to me, picked the unit up, stored it, and delivered it to my upstairs condo. The box looked fine. The unit inside was in horrible shape- so beat up, the dryer door wouldn't close. I called after my contractor went to the store trying to fix the problem, and was dismissed. I spoke to the manager, asking him to call in my replacement order now. He said "we don't order that brand until next week." I asked him to do it now given the circumstances and how long I had been waiting, only to receive a damaged product.. His reply:"That's just not going to happen." Unbelievable! At least he didn't argue with refunding me. I found it at another local business where customer service is important. read more

Bought an over-priced range, with over-priced installation fees adding up to about $5000. Paid in advance even though it was a 6 month wait. They schedule a "walk-through" to make sure the unit would fit (replacing the same brand, same type range). The day of the walk-through, no one showed up, no one called. I called them and they said it was "staffing issues". OK, I get it, so we rescheduled for the next month. I called to confirm that morning and was told that I was scheduled between 1:30 and 4:30, I was stop #4, and that I would get two texts. At about 1:00 I did get a text saying that I was next. It did not say I needed to reply, but I replied "OK, thanks". At 1:33 I got a second text saying that the service person, Mario, was headed my way and should arrive in 30 minutes. It also had an app link to check where "Mario" was. Again, it did not say that I needed to confirm or reply, but I did, with: OK, thanks. 90 minutes later no one had shown up. I checked the app and it said I was now stop #7, and it would be four and a half hours! I texted and asked which it was, 30 min or 4 1/2 hours, no one answered. So I called the store (Santa Fe). The woman told me that because I didn't text back, they skipped me. I told her that I DID text back, so she checked and said, "Oh....sorry!". All of this bad service and I haven't even received the product yet! I may have to update this depending on what happens next! NOT IMPRESSED. read more

Purchased a small Whirlpool fridge for a rental property. Luca the salesman was efficient and understood the limitations we had on dimensions. Builders Source delivered the fridge and it fit perfectly. Then, one month into ownership it stopped working, the compressor failed! I was aghast! Spoke to the repair department in Albuquerque and they said it would be about 10 days before they could look at it. Nevertheless, Chris from their repair department showed up that same day, diagnosed the problem, worked with Luca to re-order a replacement which was delivered in a week. In the meantime Luca arranged for a loaner which was delivered the next day and left in place till the new appliance was delivered. Excellent and efficient. Our second purchase from Builders, will go back for future needs. read more

NEVER, EVER, buy an appliance from this company. And, if you do, NEVER buy their extended warranty on that appliance. They farm it out to someone in some other state and you will be very fortunate if you are able to first, prove to the repair outfit that you even own the appliance, and second, get them to send a repair person before the Apocolypse. read more

Scratched floor! Oak is very hard to scratch but Builder's Source managed to do it w/ the new fridge they were installing. We had bought a number of high end appliances from them and were planning to buy more. We had an established relationship with this business but when this happened and I talked to the owner/manager on the phone, he made it pretty clear he wasn't very interested in taking responsibility or making it right. It sounded like he was going to try and weasel out of it or do the bare minimum. I decided to save myself the aggravation and just have it fixed myself and simply take my business elsewhere. read more

We bought a $1000+ dishwasher to be installed by Builders Source. After changing the installation date twice, they told us we need several more parts, an electrician, and don't call back in follow up to do the install. When we returned to the shop to see what was going on, several employees sitting around found great amusement in telling us this is the land of manana and they may be able to install next week. No thanks - we'll take a refund, and get the washer/dryer & dishwasher we need elsewhere. read more

Have bought a few appliances over the years from this company, but our recent purchase of a wall mounted microwave prompts me to give them the low rating and to suggest that buyers consider other sources. Yes, they have a nice showroom and very knowledgeable sales people who will order just about any appliance you want. This was our third microwave from them; the last one expired a month beyond the warranty, so we bought a replacement when we learned about the repair costs. The installation was a disaster; the installer hit a gas line in the wall claiming it should not have been there and that it was a code violation. (No gas lines hit on the previous installations). Builders manager advised us to hire a plumber to make the repair and we would be reimbursed. Almost 3 weeks after installation, we're still waiting to be reimbursed. The usual array of excuses "oh, the bookkeeper is out....I'll check on it, the check is in the mail, etc. etc. So frustrating....inexcusable customer service. read more
