Their prices and delivery times would change every time I talked to them. If I came close to an order the "price" would increase per the owner. If I wanted to discuss things directly with him, he would be impossible to get a hold of. Also they made me purchase material samples, which I needed to coordinate with my designer- I worked with vendors from SLO to Reseda, and they were the only ones to do that- and they would overcharge for that, supposedly because "customers would take advantage of that privilege" (yeah- makes no sense). They repeatedly guaranteed a full refund when I returned the unused samples. Of course when I returned the samples they would not honor that promise. They said they were mislabeled(?), used(?) , not theirs(?) and were too old (?). Total BS. Worse- when I politely asked to get my money back I was insulted (called stupid and a poor businessperson), asked to leave. When I then asked to talk to the owner I was told they would call the police. I have been a Ventura resident for forty years and this is was my worst ever experience with a local business. Avoid. They charged me over $100 for this.

Then with no pressure whatsoever, gave me the time to go back through my options and find my perfect piece of Quartz. I've been told I tend to think things to death, so this was much appreciated. I made my selection and was scheduled for demolition and on-site measurements early the next week. Johnathan (demolition) and Daniel (measurements) arrived as scheduled on consecutive days. Both went off without a hitch. A few days later I received a text with photos of my slab layout for approval, immediately followed by a phone call from Joey who went over the project in detail. No issues. Fabrication was completed and installation was scheduled for early the following week. Tuesday to be exact. I was elated as this was exactly two weeks from the day I walked into the store. Jose and Mauricio arrive in the morning and finished the installation and clean-up before noon. I absolutely love my new double vanity countertop with the undermount sinks. I had to stop admiring it long enough to write this review. :-) From start to finish (Leanna), everyone I interacted with was friendly, patient, and committed to their piece of the puzzle. Lines and reveals are tight, uniform, and proportional. Paint job is superior to many others! It has held up well in the last year year and a half. As with any custom build, there were some unique challenges, and we had a request for a minor change here and there as our design evolved. Casey was attentive and creative in helping us in the process. He was always available to verify measurements to make sure our other trades could put stuff in the appropriate place (plumbing lines, outlets, etc). We are now 1+ years into living with the new kitchen, and even though it is of fairly modest size, we feel it has every amenity one could wish for, and facilitates ease in workflow as if it were much larger than it is! Andrews Fine Cabinets made this all possible, and they were easy to work with. We report zero problems as of 1.5 yrs of use. Doors and drawers still square and smooth. My experience with Tuff Shed was good up until the subcontractors came to put together and install the shed. I live in a mobile home park that has specific requirements and restrictions. I got approval of where the shed should be placed via a plot plan. The subcontractors had a copy of the plot plan and made an error of placing the shed 6inches from the home instead of placing the shed 6 inches from the drip line of the awning. This made the awning of the house and the shed to have an awkward overhang, and make the awning of the house in a dangerous situation during high winds, since the supports were removed to accommodate the shed. A little common sense would have gone a long way, if the subcontractors had just placed the shed 6 inches away avoiding the awning support removal and making the awning a violation of the park rules. I received a notice from the park requiring me to correct the issue within 10 days or risk being fined heavily and kicked out of the home I had just bought and moved in to. It really put a damper on my newly purchased mobile home and cause tremendous emotional distress. I scrambled to find someone to remove half of my awning and replace it with a sturdy , smaller one. The other option the park gave me was to 'rick-roll' the shed over 6 inches. I contacted Tuff Shed several times to see if they could help move the shed but they refused and said it was 'against policy' to move the shed. I contacted other contractors and they said the 'rick-rolling' would damage the shed and the contents (2 tons of things!) would have to be moved out first. I opted for the awning to be removed and paid a significant amount of money to have that done. Being unhappy with the interaction with Tuff Shed, I filed a dispute with the bank I paid in cash full for (no financing). The return half of the money, winning the dispute. The other half Tuff Shed kept. A month later, Tuff Shed is now threatening and intimidating me with a law suit and tossing around 'repossession' of the shed if I don't pat them the other half (about $5,000). I did not do any financing with them. They did not correct the issue that was their fault, even so I gave them multiple opportunities to do so and now they are bullying me into paying them the remainder that I had won in a dispute with the credit card/bank that I paid with. I find this unethical and shameful of them to this to a single mom of 3. read more

We have wanted a She-shed for a very long time. I dreamed of having a life size doll house cottage I could design and use for a new business. My husband was dying to get all my crap out of the garage! :) So, he surprised me with a She-shed for Christmas! We looked around Lowes and Home Depot and heard Tuff Shed was the best, so we went out to the Ventura location just to look. We found the most knowledgeable and patient Tuff Shed expert - Janice Dill Schmidt! Janice listened while we told her what we thought we were looking for and then put everything we said into her computer program in seconds. OMG we saw it on paper for the first time! She suggested more windows, gave us the option of a Dutch door and window boxes. We were shocked at how much we could customize a shed! Janice gave us EVERY option imaginable. We changed our minds a dozen or more times, added and deleted a dozen or more items. Janice happily took our countless calls (some after business hours) and even had FaceTime calls with us because we were unsure of our space. The She-shed was installed yesterday and we could not be happier! It is very high quality. The installers were great and fast. It would not have turned out so perfect if it were not for Janice Dill Schmidt. We have a beautiful new shed the Tuff Shed Ventura team built for us. Janice Dill and the Tuff Shed team exceeded my expectations at every turn. I enjoyed configuring the shed with the online software and 10 minutes after we saved our quote I get a phone call ON A SUNDAY thanking me for making the quote and helpfully informing me the taxes wouldn't be applied until I placed the order. After fiddling with the layout a little more I placed the order and very quickly received a text and call asking me when I would like it installed. They could get it prefabbed and in my yard in three days! That was too fast for our plans (three days, who would have thought!) so we scheduled it for 2.5 weeks out. The build team showed up within five minutes of the start of their window and had the 8' x 10' shed assembled and done four hours later. It is a beautiful little shed with all of the bits properly assembled and painted. Tuff Shed then closed out the transaction with a smooth process and ample opportunity for feedback and correction if there would have been any problems, but there were absolutely no problems at all. The whole process was quite good. I'm a business owner and I'm jealous of the system Tuff Shed has in place to deliver a good custom shed to customers. A shout out to Janice Dill of Tuff Shed (Ventura Rd., Ventura) for an amazing customer service call this morning (4/6/2024). I have a bee problem under the corner of my (12 year old) Tuff Shed. The bee keepers asked what type flooring is in the shed. I called the Canoga Park store (where I purchased it in 2012). When the phone finally was answered, the man spoke so fast and with an accent that I could not understand what he was rattling off to me. I re-asked my question, and he rushed through the same response with a definite note of impatience in his voice. I disconnected the call rather than get more frustrated. Then I had the idea to call another store, and that is when I spoke with Janice (who, by the way, answered within about 5 rings). Amazingly, she was able to pull up my original order from 2012 and tell me exactly what I needed. In addition, she offered to email me a copy of the order with all the specs. What a gem of an employee you have in Janice. All your customers should be so lucky to cross paths with her. I certainly was! P.S. My 12 year old Premier Pro Ranch Tuff Shed looks as good today as it did when installed. Great product-great customer relations-a win-win for all!! read more

Purchased a 10'x12' storage shed. Originally was going to have it painted, but decided to paint it myself too save some money. I thought of building the shed to save a lot of money. After looking at the models on their lot, two things stood out. The metal frame the shed is built on. This will keep moisture and pest away better than some treated wood, I would have placed it on. (Unless you want to pour a pad, I didn't). The second, the metal door frame and hardware. This is built sturdy and I truly believe, if I built it, in a couple years my door would not close properly. This door is large and I can see it will last. The whole shed is built to last. That's why I opted to buy, instead of build. Janice from Tuff shed (in Ventura), helped us come up with what we wanted in the shed. She was very helpful and guided us through everything. It was easy, there are lots of options. The whole process was simple. Paper work was done online, no problems. When the guys came to install, they did a fantastic and quick job. Saul and his crew did good. I'm extremely satisfied with my shed and really looking forward to having more work space in my garage. In my opinion, it is money well spent. read more

In my quest for a new shed in my backyard, I found the quality of the products and services at local home improvement stores, was subpar. The ensuing hassle of trying to get the shed delivered and installed led me to search elsewhere. From the moment I entered the Tuff Shed showroom, until the finished product was standing in my yard, I was impressed. From start to finish, Janice was there, planning with me, and advising me, through the entire building and installation process. She described in detail all the products available to choose from, and also explained the entire installation process. Janice readily assisted me through the entire project. After years of waiting, we finally invested in a Tuff Shed. Despite our community's restriction on tall sheds, we had it installed and painted to match our home. All of our neighbors love it. The shed blends seamlessly into our side yard. Sales consultant Regina Hughes and plant manager Ray Rojas made the experience a positive one. However, the installers arrived late and hurried through the job. They falsely indicated completion with Tuff Shed factory office staff, leaving several issues unresolved: incorrect placement, exposed nails and holes, incomplete trim painting, and damaged door insulation. Upon informing Regina and Ray, they ensured the original crew returned to address 90% of the problems, including moving the shed. An oversized vent cutout remained unfixed, but the caulking was completed. I chose3 to handle the remaining painting myself - no faith in their skills to do so correctly. Overall, I recommend Tuff Shed, appreciating Regina and Ray's commitment to customer satisfaction. Their integrity restored my faith in the company. read more

I waited for the delivery and installation of the Tuff Shed I had ordered from Tuff Shed Ventura before I wrote this review. I wanted to see if the finished product was as good as the sales experience my wife and I had with the Sales Consultant, Janice Dill, at the Tuff Shed Ventura branch. The installation and finished product were excellent. Our excellent experience started with our initial meeting with Janice. She helped us design a nice shed based on what we were looking for. We didn't place an order that first meeting but we were so pleased with Janice's help and enthusiasm and that the Ventura branch had several samples of their sheds to view and examine, we returned about a week later to place the order. We are completely satisfied with the colors we chose for the paint and shingles and with the quality of the materials and installation of the shed. I feel it is worth every dollar. I've know happy TuffShed customers for at least fifteen years. A neighbor gave me a tour of her three Tuff Sheds praising the quality of the sheds and the ease of ordering and installation. We visited the office in Ventura to see the various choices and features in person. We designed what we wanted with advice on what works and would meet our needs. The office was always responsive to questions and worries. The installation went well. They worked hard all day to get the building finished. My experience with Tuff Shed Ventura was seamless and positive. Ms. Regina Hughes (Sales Associate Manager) was helpful from start to finish. We were corresponding back and forth via text messages. I was unsure of the measurements I took for the space I wanted the shed to be built on. Without hesitation, Ms. Regina spoke to her upper management and was approved to conduct a site visit to verify measurement information that I provided. After a quick tour of the options, Shane provided several "no pressure" suggestions and sat down with me to map out an intial quote. Our experience with TuffShed has been exceptional. From start to finish we have been able to work with the same rep, Janice Dill from the Oxnard/Ventura office, whose advice and patience played a critical role in our success. The art studio turned into a multiyear endeavor, delayed over and over again, due to the hospitalization of my beloved. First a stroke, then three heart surgeries. Michael Cordell was the person who answered the call. He was so professional and answered all my questions. I was impressed with the way he handled my call that I drove all the way to Ventura even though other locations are closer. I wanted to give him my business. It was worth the 2 hour drive. Our experience with Tuff shed was awesome. We took the drive to Ventura, instead of going to Home Depot, and we were glad we did. We meet Janice Dill, and she walked us though the process of picking out the correct and size and Model that would work on our property, which she pulled up on Google Maps, so she could see the space we were working with. This was so helpful, because it's really hard to figure out, unless you are dealing with an expert and we were. We were done with the transaction in 30 minutes. The shed was installed (perfectly, I might add) four days later, and we couldn't be happier. Then she wanted to go to one more store, and I was reluctant but went...and boy was she right (this is not normal for her). Norvand was working with some other customers at first, but then showed us the brand we thought we'd settled on, then he compared it to a higher quality brand and gave us a remarkable price that almost felt too good to be true. He came off a bit blunt at first, but after working with him for a bit now, he is honest, genuine, and kind. His wife is also very nice, she works at the store as well. We did not have his team install the flooring as we already had a contractor, but he was very communicative throughout the whole process (even after we needed to order 3 extra boxes after coming up short) and he was straightforward. We got LVP, moisture barrier plastic, and MDF base boards, all at prices that were great. He even stored my dolly over night when I forgot it there during the pick-up. Big fan. A must stop when looking at flooring!!

Mo…read moreassured us they could closely match our existing wood floors, which is why we hired WFG for the quote provided (about 30% higher than our avg quote.) The floors are a completely different color than our existing older hardwood. I understand that the match was never going to be exact, but I am disappointed in how far off they are. If matching aged flooring was never possible, they should not have set our expectations otherwise. When I asked Mo if he thought the color was close, he said they were "maybe 10% different", which I believe was a dishonest answer. The floors are also extremely soft - just lightly pushing a finger nail into them leaves a dent. My guess is they bought cheap planks, made of young lumber that is not as strong as our original floors. The planks were not sanded well either, the surface has bumps that can be felt even with the finish complete.

We selected California Kitchen Creations, they were within 5k of other bids, we selected them over others for a few reasons. 1. Our first encounter with Emily was wonderful. She eased our nerves and she knew exactly what I was looking for, rustic minimalist with a Mediterranean touch. She walked us through the process, how they work and we put a tiny fee, which gets credited to project amount, for a quote and mock up of our design. 2. The quote was very specific and laid out costs for everything and had no hidden charges. There was a definite timeline. This made us relaxed in knowing so we could plan ahead. We also liked the pay as you go process. 3. The design was beautiful and Emily met me at the tile store and was always available for our questions. We rented a pod, which I suggest because the team was able to store their equipment at the end of the work day. Each day they came at the scheduled time and worked until 4:30 pm. No erratic hours. The team cleaned up and put what they could away each day. They were polite to us and my doggies, even though they barked at them. We had a total gutted kitchen so of course there is noise and dust. And there was a plumbing surprise, which really was not a surprise. The supervisors were always one phone call away for issues or answers. I can't say enough. They created a beautiful kitchen for us that we could never imagined. The square footage of our kitchen has not changed, but it feels and looks so much larger now. Our house is so beautiful now. Josh was working the day we went in the Ventura store and he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful so it was pretty much a given that we'd go with them again. It took quite awhile for us to decide on the carpet color we liked so we stopped by the store a few times to pick up different samples from Josh and he was more than patient with us while we were in the "deciding phase". Once we made up our mind, he made the process so easy and quickly got our place on the install schedule. While at the store one day, we also fell in love with a beautiful vinyl that looked like tile so we purchased it to have our kitchen flooring redone. It was two different teams that worked on our flooring, one for tile and the other for carpeting, and both teams were excellent! Thank you to Josh for making this tough process so easy for us! Oh, we did do some checking around at other stores just to make sure we were getting a great deal and we didn't find anyone else who impressed us as much with his expertise and customer service and his price was more than fair! We highly recommend Flooring 101 and even though I'm sure all of their employees are great, we only worked with Josh and couldn't be happier with his service.
