Loved this little place! Definitely a must when visiting the area. My husband and I stopped by and it ended up being our favorite dining experience. You can't beat being right by the ocean. The service was great and the views were perfect. I definitely recommend making reservations if you can because it gets busy. We didn't make reservations in advanced but we didn't mind waiting. The wait was actually really pleasant. There's a comfortable little upstairs sitting area where you can get drinks. I had the pinacolada and he had the porn stashe. The drinks were delicious! When we were seated I ordered the chicken with vegetables and he had the steak sandwich. We shared the hummus and bread. I was surprised at how relatively fast our order came out compared to the rest of the restaurants in Azores. Everything tasted great! I loved that the menu was easy to follow for dietary restrictions. Would definitely recommend!

Very cool vibe. Clean. Lovely view of beach and surfing waves. Good served only inside. Vegan options we chose were: hummus-yummmm! Mushroom tacos-amazing. Vegetable bowl-yumm! Side roasted potatoes! Well presented and friendly service. 5 star rating.

Lovely view right on the beach, drinks were amazing, presentation was great, food was delicious. Had the duck rice, bread and butter (which was to die for), and the pulled pork tacos.

This place is right in the water. Beautiful views. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is easy. Cocktails are delicious - very interesting, some sweeter than others. We got the croquettes of the day - delicious. Perfectly soft in the middle and crispy on the outside. We also got the limpets - too chewy for my taste. Service is very good. All the other reviews on Yelp are very old. This is definitely worth checking out for drinks and some food with a view.

Vegan wrap with fries and house wine

I came for the view - and that actually deserves 5 stars. But since I ended up eating, too, that lowers my rating a bit, although I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised to even have had the choice between 3(!) vegan options on the menu! I went for the vegan version of the wrap, which is the vegetarian one minus the mayonnaise and comes with fries. For €5 it's quite a deal but unfortunately a bit boring, too with just a few (at least local) veggies stuffed in a wrap. It wasn't bad but nothing to write home about either. The white house wine was decent and a bargain at €2/glass. The espresso was good though and the view is splendid - after all that's what I came for in the first place! A big plus is the very fast (for island standards) wifi so this is a great spot for digital nomads or the like who enjoy getting some work done right by the waves. I'll definitely be back for coffee/drinks and overall enjoyed my stay in the comfy turquoise chairs right by the window - which just matched my outfit perfectly :)

    Wine, waves...life is good;-)

Restaurante da Associação Agrícola de São Miguel - Veal Medallions in cognac cream sauce with pineapple

I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. We were a bit jetlagged, so this was our first…read moredestination and meal, and we were very pleasantly surprised. We ordered skirt steak, a glass of wine, and fries per person. It was absolutely delicious. They mentioned the steak with the local cheese would be strong, but it was just delicious, haha. Lastly, I had a wonderful conversation with the bartender, and he gave us complimentary glasses of the local liqueur. It was wonderful!

I was admittedly hesitant to try this place given the mixed reviews about service and steak…read morequality, but happy we gave it a shot! Located in Ribeira Grande, the restaurant is run by a local agricultural society supporting farmers and showcasing regionally sourced Azorean beef, widely recognized as some of the most tender on the island. While it wasn't the very best steak I've ever had, it was still a pretty enjoyable meal, and I left satisfied and full. Veal Medallions: my favorite dish of the night -- flamed in an addictive pineapple-cognac sauce and served with mixed veggies and fries. this sauce was so good i was dipping literally everything in it -- the medallions, the veggies, fries and even the tenderloin below! Bife à Associação - Steak Lombo (Tenderloin): served in a white wine, garlic, and salted pepper sauce, topped with a fried egg. we initially debated the sizes, but 200g was plenty for us to share along with a 2nd dish. the sauce was a bit bold and peppery for my taste (I prefer sweeter sauces like the pineapple cognac), but my bf enjoyed it. for those who arent into the peppery flavor, the steaks also come with multiple other sauces -- passion fruit, island cheese, three pepper, and more. For dessert, there were numerous tempting Portuguese classics but we were stuffed and decided to keep it light with sliced Azorean pineapple -- a refreshing way to wrap up a hearty meal and a perfect choice if, like me, trying the acclaimed local pineapple was high on your to-do list. A surprise standout was the white sangria -- my first time trying the white version, and I loved the bright, fruity flavors. It's nice that they offer it by the glass, so you can mix and match if your party has different preferences. The venue is open and spacious, with lots of natural light thanks to large glass-pane doors that offer a view of the quaint outdoor patio. Despite some of the service complaints I'd read, we had a smooth experience. Food came out promptly, and while the restaurant was clearly busy and staff were spread thin, we were proactive about getting waitstaff's attention so fortunately didnt encounter any issues or delays. Overall a solid, well-priced spot with a convivial dining atmosphere and quality meat dishes. If you're someone who loves classic, no-frills salt-and-pepper steaks, the saucy Azorean spin might not be for you -- but if you're up for something bold and flavorful, it's definitely worth a visit!
