I've been getting monthly facials with Natalie since December, and every visit has been exceptional. The space is beautiful and SO relaxing. On my last visit, I added the lash lift and tint in preparation for a recent vacation, and I'm so glad I did! I was a little apprehensive about the process, but Natalie was a pro and took such good care of me. My lashes look fantastic, and it has been so nice not to have to mess around with mascara, especially while traveling. I've been seeing Carisa for about 2 years now, and she takes such great care of my skin. They just moved into a bigger, better space - which means you can now book a massage and facial back-to-back! I stopped into to their new space for a facial with Carisa, and left feeling fresh and dewy! The new space is so gorgeous and much roomier, but still perfectly small and intimate especially when compared with the big salon spas in town which I love! After an awful winter my skin was in desperate need of attention. Luckily, Carisa performed some serious facial magic on my skin! She will always start out by asking if you have any issues or problem areas, that way she can tailor each and every facial to your specific needs. On top of a wonderful facial, you also get a shoulder, arm, and scalp massage (which is literally the BEST THING EVER!) The other best part about your experience (other than, you know, the facial) is the awesome prices! My facial, pre-tip, was $60! This is for a full hour of wonderful relaxation! I will never go anywhere else for my skin care, because I wouldn't trust anyone but Carisa with my skin! On par with the rest of the reviews - Tula is as good as it gets! I had made two (yes, two!) appointments for a Monday afternoon for a massage and facial. Celebrating a little staycation after changing jobs, and #treatyourself at Tula. Upon arriving to the adorable location in an old home in the Southeast Minneapolis Neighborhood, I was warmly welcomed, filled out a few forms, was offered tea, and was quickly on my merry way. I first had a massage with Lucy. I chose the medium pressure and it was perfect! Note for those of you looking for a relaxing massage - choose light pressure! She worked what felt like hundreds of knots out of my back, sadly so needed! It was intense and felt great at the same time, and I felt a million times better after. Next I may have had the best facial of my life (no joke) with Larissa. Combination massage and a deep cleansing, this was the perfect way to spend an afternoon. The products she used were heavenly, and it was so relaxing that I think I fell asleep during the extractions. Tula's new spot on the corner of 48th and Grand is bigger and better! You walk into a space suffused with light: huge windows, high ceilings, white furniture. But, for the massage, Amy takes you to a warm, cozy room downstairs. I love this contrast. The shift in space is a great shift in mood too. As for the massage, Amy is brilliant at what she does. She speaks to you first to learn what you're looking for and then she exceeds expectations. The massage never feels like being lightly patted or being mashed to a pulp. It's calibrated pressure responsive to your body's needs. I feel amazing for days after and it's the only thing that conquers winter insomnia. Additional perks to the new spot: Tula is now next door to a lovely vegan boutique that has food, gifts, even pet treats (veggie chips for dogs, oh yes!). And Patisserie 46 is two blocks way. I recently had the pleasure of receiving both a 60 minute massage from Amy and a 75 minute organic facial from Carissa. The massage was amazing - my back is still feeling great a day later and the foot scrub at the end left my feet feeling really smooth. It was my first time getting a facial and Carissa walked me through the process - apparently I have been missing out because facials are awesome! I don't have anywhere else to compare to but it was half focused on my face and half arm/neck massage all on a comfy heated table with soothing music and steam. I think there were at least seven different magic potions put on my skin. I went out that evening and someone actually told me I was glowing. My pores are pretty much gone right now! I loved it! I wanted to love Tula but had a not so good experience my first time.there. I had a facial wax, during which some spots were waxed as much as 3 times. Ouch. She never used a bright light like most esthneticians do. When I got home, I notice there were patches of unwaxed skin that were very obvious, for example, 1/3 of my lip was missed. Last Saturday I received the best facial ever, from Carisa! First off, the area of the location is quiet and wonderful. The interior design is spacious and bright which was very welcoming! The bed was warm (NOT hot) and very comfortable. I got the facial fusion and it really transformed my skin! My few breakouts went away and I was left with dewy, gorgeous* skin, without the oiliness! I've only been in the area a couple years and have tried a few places for massage. They weren't bad but they weren't what I was looking for either. Reviews of Tula looked promising and Erika does evenings which works with my schedule so I gave it a shot. Erika hit all my trouble spots and even convinced me to try cupping again (first time elsewhere was incredibly painful). This experience was much better with no pain. Erika carries a very calm, pleasant energy as well which makes you feel right at home. I don't treat myself often enough but when I do I'm happy I've found a place to return. read more
