We got 2 of our kitties from Barbara They have the best personality's they handle their kitties ‍ and they at Are the most loving kitty's we have ever had. They did have some feline Herpies and that is a life long issue. But we took our baby to the vet every 2 weeks for injections to treat the symptoms. Today my friend reports that upon another visit to Tuleburg Cattery for a "replacement" kitten, that her previous kitten whom she returned sick that (not surprising) was seen much worse with a bad cough, completely matted and dirty with eyes almost completely shut with eye gunk that appears to have gone untreated. This owner is certainly not addressing the health issues of the adult cats and kittens in this place. My experience happened in June of 2009. The conditions the cats were kept in was appalling, to say the least. Her website pictures are totally deceptive. I'm shocked that she's still in business & still selling unhealthy cats! Here is a review I posted on another website in June of 2009 after my very extremely unpleasant visit: I was at Barbara Redalia's cattery this weekend and made a complaint to animal control. FIRST OF ALL, The building the cats were in smelled TERRIBLY bad. The cats reeked also. The smell lingered on my clothing for the rest of the day. That's how bad it was. Plus, the building was stifling HOT. At least 80 degrees, if not hotter. Those poor cats! She had no fans on, or air conditioning (yes, there was a window a/c unit, but it was not turned on) to make them comfortable. At least two of the adult cats coats were matted. One had glazed over eyes. At least two had forked looking tongues. (imbreeding?) The kitten that was purchased from her had balding on it's ear and a small scab (Ringworm?) She claimed that another cat had chewed on it's ear... Yeah, right! To boot, this tiny kitten was starved and ate a FULL can of soft food at her new home. My adult cats cannot eat a full can! This woman obviously does not care about or for her cats. I am thoroughly disgusted!!! She should be ashamed of herself!!! read more

I purchased an exotic shorthair kitten from Barbara and Suzanne this week and so far so good. They were very informative and made sure I understood the breed and his requirements. I've never been to a "cattery" before but everyone seemed healthy comfortable and clean. Im OCD about cleanliness so thats a compliment. There were also these little balls of hair with smooshed faces running around my feet, I wish I could have taken them all!! I had been searching for a Selkirk Rex kitten for sometime and of all the breeders I spoke to no one was as friendly as these ladies. I would definitely recommend going and seeing for yourself if you truly want a beautiful cat or kitten. read more

I wish I could put no stars. I bought an exotic shorthair kitten in April 2012. He just died today. He is one years old. He died of FIP. A fatal virus. We watched him deteriorate over two weeks. Thank god we said our good byes and he died in his sleep. I saw the sick cats and was in denial. I'm glad we had him for such a short time and died with us instead of being sick somewhere else. Rest in peace Chippy. He is the only cat in our house so I know he brought the virus with him from this awful place. He was innocent. We kept him healthy. This virus is transmitted from these huge colonies in cats and lays dormant. He got this thru other sick cats he came into contact with when he was a kitten. Please beware of this place. It is too late for me. My two kids have lost their pet. If you want a kitten buy from someone who is not a breeder. Save yourself heartache. My heart is broken. read more

I bought a Persian kitten from Barbara in 2012. Within the first three days it was apparent that he was a pretty sick kitty. Over the course of the next 5 months I dealt with numerous health problems: Giardia, upper respiratory tract infection, ringworm, and an ear infection-all diagnosed by my vet. The whole experience was extremely taxing: loss of sleep, stress, vet bills... and my daughter and I both developed ringworm. It was relentless! I had several email conversations with Barbara but I felt she only passed the blame by suggesting that his sickness was due to stress from moving or something he may have caught from our other Persian. She claimed she was unaware of any of his health issues. Ringworm for example, is very contagious. You can be sure that some of her other cats were infected. As for our other Persian, he has always been in exceptional health. Fortunately, he didn't catch a single thing from our new kitten. I gave two stars instead of one because Barbara found it in her heart to sent me $100 to help toward the vet expenses. Granted, a drop in the bucket. read more

I bought my Persian blanka from this lady 4 years ago and i love him dearly.if you do go to look at kittens at her place try to go into her cat room and not just her house and that alone with turn you right off from buying from her.I did fall in love with my kitten when i got him but looking back the house/room she keeps them in is disgusting. The cat piss smell is insane and its dirty.there is incredibly young kittens just roaming around on the floor and one had a gunky face from being sick.one of her breeders i see she still uses on her site was matted and could feel flea dirt on her.I bought my boy from her and was holding him like a baby excited and she said a snarky remark about how i look like im going to baby him and let him sleep with me...ok yes hes my pet. Ive had my boy 4 years now and my boys hasnt been in the greatest health lots of respiratory issues and teeth/gum problems.I have had friends buy cats from her so i have seen her a few times since and she will blatenly look at you and say she doesnt know you and never had a orange kitten name pumpkin (my cat).very shady woman and nasty cattery I would think to call someone to check on them Oh also she tried to pawn of the mother of my kitten to me while i was there for 25 dollars like she was nothing and they brought her out and she seemed really stressed no thank you read more

I bought a Himalayan kitten from Barbara a few years back. I absolutely love her, and she is beautiful. HOWEVER, when I first got her, she had many health issues. Ringworm, a respiratory infection, ear mites, and eye herpes. It took months and numerous vet visits to get my kitty well. The conditions these cats and kittens are kept in are appalling. The room they are kept in has no ventilation, and smells god awful. It is very dirty. The male cats are kept in cages stacked on top of each other. Again, I love my kitty very much, but I would never get another cat from Barbara. read more

More health issues with my cat. Sad part is she thinks of me as the bad guy since I'm the one who gives her meds when she is sick. We had to keep her in a room for 3 months the day after we got her, due to the ring worm. Why is this woman still in business! I view her website sometimes and she has more litters of kitten for sale. I see other postings on yelp and Barbara always blames the new owner for the cats health problems. None of my other pets had ring worm or giradia...she expressed it came from my house. read more

I should have done my homework first. I am in agreement with all the negative reviews regarding this cattery. When the smell hit my nostrils I should have turned around and gone home. Cats were actually mating during my visit! My kitten has a full blown case of ringworm which Barbara tried to tell me all cats test positive for. Really? Not according to my vet! If you are in the mood to rescue a kitten then contact this cattery and be prepared to spend more than you paid for the cat getting her healthy. One star for this cattery is a compliment. read more

Purchased a kitten from Barb for my ex-wife. About 4 weeks after we got the kitten home we found it passed out in the litter box. We rushed it to the vet and after 6 days at the emergency vet and about $7000.00 later, we finally got the kitten back to health. The diagnosis was also Giardia, and like the other post Barb tried to blame our water system. A fun fact about giardia is it comes from well water 9 times out of 10, and Barb is on well water out in Sebastopol, I'm on the city water where I am at. Long story short I got a very cute kitten, but after all the hassle I wouldn't do it again. read more

I have been contemplating this rating for months now. I purchased a himalayan/bi-color from Barbara Redalia in July. When I first went to see the kitten I was somewhat taken aback by the living conditions of all her cats. Considering how many cats were living in one space it wasn't surprising that the air was hot and stale in the room where they were kept. There were several beautiful cats/kittens but many looked less than healthy to me. One cat had its tongue sticking out and Barbara told me it was pretty old, 5 or 6, and that it had lost some teeth. I have had cats my whole life and have never seen a 5 or 6 year old with missing teeth. Anyway, when I saw the kitten I had seen online and came to visit, I noticed he appeared sort of withdrawn. When I picked him up I also noticed he had a runny nose. When I asked Barbara if he had some kind of an infection she told me she had given him a bath earlier and that he was "recovering" from the bath. He was sweet and cute and I actually felt sort of sorry for him. I really believe I rescued him from this woman. When I brought him home he was shivering and slept pretty much the whole day and evening. He got up once or twice for water, but wouldn't eat any food and didn't play like a kitten normally would. The very next day I brought him to the vet. They immediately told me he was a very sick kitten. He had a fever and tested positive for Calici virus. I was heart broken. I called Barbara and she offered to take him back so he could "recover" at her house. There was no way I was giving him back and I told her I didn't want my money back. I just wanted to know why she knowingly sold me a sick kitten. I'll get to the point: the kitten was sick and Barbara knew it. Having now done extensive research, I know all the cats/kittens living at her home have been exposed to this virus. My kitty is adorable and sweet as can be, but he has what can be a life long health issue. Please, please, please be wary of buying a kitten from this lady!!! read more

I had nothing but a great experience purchasing a kitten from Tuleburg. We purchased a chocolate persian last year after our himi died from cancer. Big shoes for a new family member to fill... but I am more than thrilled with our new family member. I am a vet tech and have had a persian or exotic shorthair in my family since I can remember. I live in Colorado and had my kitten shipped. Barbara was very strict when it came to the temperature both there and here and would only send the kitten out after 12 weeks when the kitten had a clean bill of heath and the temperature was O.K. for safe travel. My kitten was sold as a pet but when I took her to the vet shortly after she arrived my vet felt she was show quality. Our vets cannot believe that she has such a wonderful dispositon and purrs throughout her exams She has the most amazing temperament from the day she arrived. Although she was not raised around dogs...you could have fooled me. She introduced herself immediately and has been a constant companion to our maltese and King Charles. She loves to be brushed and cuddled and loves everyone in our family. Barbara is always availiable to answer any questions I have and loves to hear about how her kitten is doing. I would highly recommend Tuleburg and I am checking her website weekly in hopes of finding another addition to our family. read more
