My fiancé has been going to Tullios' for years. I've accompanied him may times, and we always had a good experience. I decided to make an appointment at Tullios. I called ahead of time to see if there was someone who specialized in hair color, and to confirm what I wanted done could be achieved. When I arrived on Friday April 29th the Beautician said that it could be done, and explained the whole process as she started my hair. (There was no formal consultation) I knew going from black hair, to a red color would take some time, but the stylist seemed positive that it could be done. My appointment started around 4:20pm, and I didn't leave until 9:20pm. After my hair was stripped, color applied, processed, and washed out. The result, multiple color variations throughout my hair ( red, orange, brown, yellow). I had to go through multiple processes of toner, the stylist adding different colors of dye to calm down the florescent orange/ red hair near my roots. It took 5 hours in total, and my hair was not near where I wanted it to be. I was traumatised! I couldn't believe the stylist and owner said how good it looked. I ended up paying an astronomical amount. I was told it would take another appointment to get what i wanted, to come back in 4 weeks. When I arrived home, my hair appeared more orange, there was wet clumps of hair dye stuck in my ears, and hair dye on my shirt. Come the next morning, when I went outside, my hair looked florescent orange. Having the experience I did the night before, i didn't want to go back. I ended up going to Jean Paul. They were able to correct my hair color, for the fraction of the money and time. I called Tullios that day to speak to the manager to see if i could get some of my money back. He was not available that weekend. I spoke to a woman who stated there was nothing they could do, that i should have called and come back in to get my hair fixed. I left a message with her to give to Joseph Tullio to please call me back when he returned on Monday. On Monday at 6pm I called to find out he was not there, that he would be in Tuesday . When I called today Joseph Tullio picked up, I asked if I could speak with the manager/ owner. He said he was not here, immediately asking if I was the girl who came in on Friday. When I replied yes, he rushed me off the phone to speak with the beautician who did my hair. She was very aggressive stating she told me what would happen, that I knew the process, and that i was fine with that. She stated that my hair was not orange when I left. I expressed my view and experience that night. She stated that they couldn't do anything to my hair since I went to Jean Paul to get it fixed. That they can't correct another hair stylists work. I explained that was not the reason I called. I then asked to speak with the owner who clearly lied about who he was when I first called. He was very unprofessional. Raising his voice at me , saying I knew what was going to happen, that he told me this before (which he did not). I replied in a calm manner, asking if I could get a portion of my 205 dollars back. Joseph said no, that if he gave money back to everyone who was not satisfied, he would be out of business. ( so... a lot of customers must call and complain)Needless to say, I felt I wouldn't get my money back, which is fine. This could have been handled in a professional manner. He simply could have called me back , stated that the service fee was final; Instead of me calling once a day for 4 days. In conclusion, i will never nor will my fiance be returning to Tullios. read more
