They were not the friendliest, most sympathetic , most caring staff. But I must add I let them know that doctors in that building had let me down before. Like not finding/acknowledging 4 broken bones in my foot years earlier. The radiologist seemed competent and explained why he thought he was. Again, not my first rodeo. But when the apparently rushed doctor (or just uncaring) diagnosed 2 sprained ankles and provided a not well fitted boot, my trepidations climbed. We left. Due to past experience I called podiatrist Dr Brad Beasley who had found the 4 broken bones a couple years earlier that TBJ had missed/ignored. No, I didn't have 2 sprained ankles, I had one and the ankle was broken with a piece floating. I needed surgery. Working through it, but confident. He is the most thorough and caring doctor you can find. He is honest and will provide advice you may not want to hear. But it's because he sincerely cares. 6

Dr Chalkin recently did a Carpel tunnel release and it fixed the numbness I was having. The surgery went well. The anesthesia that the anesthesiologist used though did not work and they had to give me more. That's the only complaint and it was fixed quickly. The wait in his office can be long he's got probably the whole state trying to get his help but it was worth the wait. They are in a beautiful new office at 61st and Lewis.

It was after 1pm. I had them refund my copay and I left. Dr Chalkin, I'm sure you are a great physician but what all physicians need to understand is that our time is just as important as yours. We have other things, appts, commitments., JOBS to accomplish during our day. You aren't the only busy one. If I had been 15 min late I would have been forced to reschedule and possibly charged for late cancellation so it doesn't mess up your schedule. Why is it any different for your patients? If you are going to be that late, you should have the courtesy of notifying the patients in the waiting room so we can choose to wait or reschedule if needed. As a former house supervisor for ascension st John and trauma nurse- I get emergencies happen but the reality is that doctors do this reg and just expect that their schedule is the only one that matters and that needs to change. Respecting and keeping on time appts isn't just the patients responsibility, it's the physicians as well. It you can't keep the scheduled appt on time or close to it- TALK TO YOUR PATIENTS. Them asking if they've been forgotton is ridiculous. Scheduling so many patients that the front desk is asking who will see the PT, the PA or doc is unprofessional at best, the fact that us patients overheard that is even worse. Stop over booking your schedule. For patients reading this- hold your physician accountable. If you walk out of that office and go somewhere else- he doesn't get paid and doctors tend to listen when it affects their checkbook. Remember you are hiring THEM not the other way around and you have other options. If they are this neglectful with your time what else is being neglected? Does he schedule his surgeries the same way? This chaotic?? Is that what and who you want working on you? Someone whose mind is in 10 other places except with you bc they've over extended themselves? That's a NO for me. Dr Chalkin, it may seem to you like "you just got busy" but you need to stop and consider what message you are sending when you can't be on time and don't respect your patient enough to even say, "hey, I'm running late" from the other reviews, I'm not the only patient you've lost bc of this.

    In April, I was scheduled for knee replacement surgery by Dr. Mittal. A week before the scheduled…read moresurgery, I was informed that I needed to pay nearly $1800 up front. This was my first notification of this out-of-pocket expense. I asked if there was a payment plan and was told no by the billing associate. I told her that I needed to cancel the surgery. She did then offer a payment plan - half up front with two subsequent payments. I gave her my debit card. The next day I decided that this wasn't a good option for me and asked that she refund my card. I've been waiting for six weeks for this refund. The billing associate does not return my phone calls. I've visited her at the clinic twice and each time I'm told that it's being processed. One of the forms handed to me at the time of the visit concerned a blood-platelet procedure that he performs. The box was checked that I did approve of this, ready for my signature. I later found out that this is optional. This had not been discussed. Dr. Mittal spent about a minute with me during my two visits. In addition to not being informed about the up-front cost, I was blindsided at the hospital when told I needed to pay for the Iovera injection up front. This was over $400. This entire experience with this office had been a nighmare.
