Airline-sized checked bag can be stowed on the larger buses. Seats are a bit tight for taller people, but reasonable. Plastic flip-down footrests available for shorter people. About $10 from Playa Del Carmen to Cancun Airport. Vs $55- $110 for the other methods... You just need to get yourself (and your luggage) to the bus terminal. On the larger buses, reserved seats available. Full itineraries (and seats currently free) on their website. AC, tinted windows, carryon storage. Helpful driver. All in all, would repeat.

The ticket taker at Cancun wouldn't let me buy a ticket with credit card but proceeded to offer the machine to everyone White and Hispanice after me. The ticket taker at PDC wouldn't service me in line. As soon as I got out of the line, she came back to her window. Also saw a bus driver being rude to another Black couple. They clearly do not want the service of Black individuals so if you are, then its best to find another bus service.

From the beginning their customer service was not helpful. We wanted to do a private car and reached out if there were any additional perks. They weren't helpful! I even asked if the driver could have ice on arrival and never got a response. You don't even get a bottle of water for free! What kind of luxury is this. I asked for a sign upon arrival with my IG traveling page handle they did not. The lady they sent did not seem like she even wanted to greet us she was all the way in the back and wasn't even looking for us. I had to go up to her. We waited a few minutes for the car. It was clean. The driver on the way to the hotel was nice enough to stop by the gas station so we could look for charcoal. Other than that the drive was a bit scary but I did tip since he made a stop. The driver on the way back to the airport was not friendly.

After arriving at the Cancun airport, we waited an extremely long time for our shuttle. To make matters worse, one of our phones was accidentally left on the van. When we contacted the point of contact, Antonio Leon, it was very difficult to get any assistance or updates about recovering the phone. We were also told we would have to pay an additional transportation fee, even though we had already paid for the service. Instead, we took an Uber, which was much cheaper and more convenient. Based on my experience, I would not recommend MTS Transportation and suggest using another transportation service when visiting Cancun.

Alex was super informative and had a ton of really interesting knowledge about the area. The cenotes were absolutely incredible. Alex showed us a bunch of cool spots to dive and some secret areas that the other tours that were there didn't seem to be going to. I can't even describe how cool the cenotes were. It's like being on another planet! I highly recommend this tour company. Worth every penny and seriously made my trip so memorable.

Alex, our guide; was super knowledgable explaining to us how cenotes form and also the cultural importance. He made us feel right at home, especially since I'm not the best swimmer. I've had issues before with snorkeling equipment malfunctioning on other trips but everything worked great this time with Alex's tips. We explored 3 unique cenotes and had plenty of time to relax and enjoy exploring them. Alex showed us how to free-dive (it's important to equilibrate your ears) which came in handy when he showed us hidden spots in the mangroves and even had us explore some underwater caves fully submerged (only if you felt comfortable). In between swims, he had ice cold sweet pineapples and water for us. Although you could technically do the cenote swims yourself, I believe it's worth the little bit extra to have a guide show you how to use the equipment properly (nothing worse than a water-filled snorkel mask) and also the hidden spots (all of the other tourists that came on their own to the grand cenote just stayed attached to the buoyed lines that were laid out). Well worth it in my opinion.

A Chichén Itz-A+ Experience!…read more We had an absolutely outstanding experience with Absolute Adventures, thanks in large part to our incredible guide, Alberto, and our professional driver, Yosmar. Alberto guided us through all the major archaeological sites at Chichén Itzá with a perfect balance of deep knowledge, storytelling, and patience. He answered countless questions--not just from my wife and me, but also from our very curious 10- and 8-year-old children. He made history come alive in a way that was engaging and accessible for all of us, which is no small feat on a long, hot day. What truly set Alberto apart was how attentive he was to our children's needs. He made sure we moved at a comfortable pace, checked in frequently, and ensured the kids stayed engaged and comfortable throughout the tour. He also did a fantastic job preparing us for interactions with vendors and other on-site situations, which made the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. Our driver, Yosmar, was equally impressive. He was extremely professional, always parking in safe areas--and whenever possible, in the shade (a huge bonus!). He was attentive while we were getting in and out of the vehicle at each stop, especially when traffic was present, which made us feel very well taken care of. After the archaeological sites, Yosmar drove us to a beautiful cenote, where Alberto again went above and beyond--explaining all the amenities, walking down with us, and even helping carry one of our bags. We later stopped at an authentic Mayan/Mexican restaurant, where even our kids found food they loved. Alberto asked if he could join us for lunch, and we were happy to have him--his insight into the dishes and local cuisine made the meal even more enjoyable. We wrapped up the day with a stop in Valladolid, getting a quick but meaningful look at the Spanish influence, Mayan culture, and, of course, chocolate. It was a long day, but being able to go at our own pace--with our needs and preferences fully respected--made it more than worth it. Booking with Absolute Adventures was one of the best decisions we made on this trip, and we would absolutely do it again. Highly recommended for families, especially those traveling with children.
