There are lots of companies making bags for business or traveling. Tumi is one of them. One of the best ones in my opinion. I own a few Tumi products. Including a wallet, a cross-body bag for travel, a small backpack, etc. They're all the highest quality and good-looking. The prices in this outlet store are a little less than their retail stores. But the quality of the bags is the same. The salespersons here are also helpful and professional. You have questions, they have answers. But no oversell feeling at all. Tumi is my brand of choice for luggage and work totes/bags. I conveniently stopped by this outlet shop (located in the Vacaville Premium Outlet Mall) on my long return drive from Napa. The associate/manager who was working was great and helpful. I was needing another work style tote and since I know the different lines Tumi offers, I was on the hunt. The associate made a few solid suggestions based on my preferences and finally I decided to go with a tote bag and also a complementary wallet....both at unbeatable outlet prices!!! I shopped at this location two months ago and the experience was atrocious. The lady running the store didn't greet me at all. She was on her phone talking to someone. I started to look at items I might want to buy she kept looking at me weird. She finally finished her phone call in which she was talking crap about someone and still didn't greet me. I shop at Tumi stores a lot and prior store visits are very professional but not at this location. The lady was trying very hard to be counterproductive to make me not want to buy anything. If I touched a suitcase she would walk over an reposition it. I did find one thing I liked and my family liked the bag I picked out. The lady continued to be a unpleasant person while I bought the bag. When we left the Tumi store, we all agreed that this location is horrible and will never shop there again. What can I say. Tumi is my drug of choice. Great selection and even better sales associate named Elva. We only went to get my wife something. But after getting a mile down the road I agreed to turn back around and get me something to. If you know Tumi you know that there is cheaper options. But with cheaper options come cheaply made products. Always willing to buy the best the first time so I don't have to buy a second time around. Elva was so friendly and knowledgeable. I received a new laptop for Christmas and wanted to protect it with a nice bag that would last me forever. I began my search on Macy's.com where I have multiple gift cards and came across Tumi, but knew nothing of it so kept scrolling. I found myself at the Vacaville Outlets in other luxury brand stores with a budget of sub $200 for a new bag. I saw backpacks, briefcases, slings, and women's purses that match that description but none that I thought would be durable long term. The Samsonite store was the next stop, then I saw the Tumi logo outside the store. I turned to my boyfriend and said, "We have to check out that store, I know nothing of it!" We were quickly greeted by Daniela who is The Gem of Tumi stores. Coming from sales myself, I'm naturally drawn to and identify genuinely passionate people who are happy where they work. That's Daniela. She did a needs analysis and asked me questions like, "What will you be using the bag for? How will you be using it? What do you expect the bag to do for you?" ETC ETC. That's when she pointed to my beautiful Ashton briefcase laptop bag shown in the photo. IT DOES EVERYTHING I NEEDED IT TO DO AND MORE. I expected great padded protection, lots of zippered compartments to hold chargers for an iPad, phone, buds, and more. Even my work binder fits in the main compartment, a 3-ring medium sized binder with a notepad inside. What was also very important to me was style, obviously coming from Coach and Michael Kors previous to stepping in. The tag was nearly $100 more than budget but I opted to get it because of Daniela, really. Without her, I would have settled for a nice looking bag down the way at Coach that checked all my boxes, nothing more and nothing less. And was $189. Without Daniela, I wouldn't have known about the materials that make up the bags and appreciated why it's made that way compared to competitor brands. I also wouldn't have known about the great warranty offered through Tumi and the registration of my bag on the Tumi website, in the event some good samaritan found my bag and wanted to return it to me. I also wouldn't have known to go to the Corte Madera Tumi store to get my bag personalized as seen in the photo. What a great touch! My boyfriend and I made our way there on a day trip last week to get that done with Kevin because that store has the machine capable of engraving. And how equally helpful Kevin was and solidified why we were making our purchase with a great company. Kevin likely walked back and forth a dozen or so times to make sure I was 100% happy with the engraved patch. Once installed, I just KNEW this was the best purchase I've made it awhile and I'm so happy I experienced this with such great customer service. Thanks Daniela and Kevin. I purchased two backpacks here using a combination of gift card and credit card. When I returned one of them, they refused to credit me back the amount on the credit card. They claim the first form of payment was gift card so that's the only way to credit me. There's no way a traditional Tumi store would handle a return this way, how unprofessional. Tumi specializes in high quality luggage and travel gear. And I confess, I have a rather expensive addiction to bags. Although 2016 is my YEAR OF DO NOT BUY ANYTHING YOU DON'T REALLY NEED, I couldn't help myself and popped in. They certainly have some really nicely designed luggage. I look for handles that work well, lots of pockets,bags that are convertible, etc. All nice stuff with appropriately hefty price tags. Nothing today that I allowed myself to buy, but certainly a good place to look in the future. read more

ZERO STARS IF I COULD, and let me explain. Customer Service: TUMI, a company that only cares about PROFIT, and is suited along with their lying, money robbing employees. They certainly don't give a rats *cheese* about customer satisfaction, and let me explain... I'm just getting started. I came into this store to buy my boyfriend a birthday gift. he had mentioned he wanted a cross body backpack. So I figured, why not Tumi? I came into this store... Saw a cool bag, grabbed it. THEN did this employee (I wish I remembered her name, but she had dark hair and seemed Hispanic) approached me with her "can I help you find anything else" BS... I was in retail hunny. Luxury retail to be exact, and I know when an employee is helping you just because she/he wants the whooping 1-2% commission the company provides. I proceeded to buy the bag, she rang me up. And I told her if my boyfriend doesn't like it can I return or exchange it. She said YES. She did not mention anything about only exchange, she said YES to a return as well...Wonderful! I left the store happy. Unfortunately, turned out that my boyfriend had already purchased a similar bag so I had to return it... things happen right? I came ALL THE WAY FROM THE EASTBAY, on my day off (I HATE shopping on weekends), to pay TOLL, to return this bag, get stuck in weekend shopaholic traffic. Finally arrive... To be told that I can ONLY Exchange OR Receive Store Credit... Um WHAT? From what I can recall, I know plenty of stores that have the same policy but they MENTION such policies if a customer will not be able to get their money back BEFORE a customer makes their purchase!!! Like WTF (excuse my language). Even Forever 21 employees know better, and mention their "no money back policy"....like I said, robbed. Funny that... The same girl who sold, wait no, got commission off me was the one to "help" during this exchange. No, I bet she was happy that TUMI OUTLET (because TUMI Boutiques do not have such a return policy) created this crazy policy. I had told the sales person that she did not mention nothing and that usually things like this should be mentioned before a purchase. I mean why would I buy an expensive gift if it can't be returned? And she simply told me "well, it's right on the receipt." OH MY GOODNESS... So that means AFTER I HAD PURCHASED THE ITEM AND REALIZED, I still WOULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN A REFUND lol lovely. Then I did some more complaining and she pointed to a 4x6 TINY A$$ sign which stated EXCHANGE POLICY and in SMALL, I mean SMALL 8pt font size small.... Which I didn't care to look closely and read.... I was too frustrated. And her friend employee who happened to be "ease dropping" said "we don't always tell every customer the return policy. By the way, you have nice eyes!".... I could not even take her seriously. Let me give you advise, don't ease drop unless you are a manager willing to help and DON'T ever mention that you only SOMETIMES tell customers about your policy. Because that makes me think, 1. You're either too lazy to do your job, or 2. You really just need a sale. That's my review. I'm not going to sit here and say that I am a loyal shopper for TUMI because I'm not. Also, I mentioned to them that I had a Tumi backpack that was torn on the shoulder straps, and they mentioned that Tumi had a lifetime warranty and they could repair it for FREE, just pay for shipping. And what do you know, I happened to have my old Tumi backpack in the car! I'ml glad the customer service rep mentioned this to me and were happy to help. In fact they were extremely helpful at this store! (I actually almost purchased a wallet at Cole Haan/Vacaville Outlets, but the 2 workers there never acknowledged me while I walked the entire store and was a foot right in front of them. Their products last forever and are so durable. This store alone is worth the drive to vacaville. The outlet has a lot of great stores. The store has a great selection of travel, mens, women and accessories. I had my mind set on new luggage once I saw that they were having a great sale. I was the only person in the store and there were 3 or 4 sales people. The manager joyce was really odd. She kept following me around the store, but not in a making sure I don't steal way. The store is also fairly small, about the same size as their retail ones. She also kept talking and asking me random personal questions. It was fine at first since I was looking at luggage and she was answering my questions. She proceeded to get more comfortable with me and began physical contact with me. Nothing super inappropriate. More like rubbing my arm and patting my back a lot. I am not sure if she meant to be hitting on me or felt like we were some how new BFFs. Whatever she was doing made me feel uncomfortable and it was odd. Thankfully my real life BFF found me in store and joyce backed off me. With my friends help I purchased my items. All items were additionally on sale. I was very happy with my purchase minus the strange behavior of joyce. I will never pay retail for tummy again now that I know about this great outlet! During holiday weekends etc they usually have sales of additional 25% off their luggage and travel. They also occasionally have great discounts on certain items. I got a travel duffel for 200 and a rolling voyageur for 139 and matching tote to fit on top for 99 and a purple small tote for 49 and a large voyageur weekender bag for 99. My suitcase and wheeled duffle were both additional 25% off. The prices are great! Definitely worth the drive and even enduring the strange behavior from their store manager. read more

I always loved Tumi products. To the date I owned countless Tumi bags, wallets and other professional accessories. The durability and design is what made a loyal fan. The ballistic nylon material will never degrade or wear. I had one bag for nearly 10 years and still looked new and was able to sell it for half o the retail price. She is super helpful, professional and knows a ton about ALL Tumi has to offer. Loved working with her, listening to her advice and ended up buying five gorgeous Tumi items.
