I did an online return for a friend today and received the best customer service. I don't get the gals name but we talked about the 49ers game on Thursday night. She was so helpful and friendly it's rare to come across such nice people especially in retail. I noticed the elderly lady ahead of me questioned a price. The clerk was very patient with the women and over all 10 opt of 10. The store was clean and the staff were outstanding. Good job Kohls. read more

I've been in our Kohls store 2 times recently for a return. Both times the employee was on the verge of being rude. I'm talking about 2 different people. In the past I've gotten really good service so I don't know what happened. Things changed since they remodeled. Went to this store today after a long hiatus, Thought maybe it had improved! I was wrong, The customer service is atrocious, the line at the new self checkout was incredibly long, with no help being offered, with what looked like a new system. They have moved customer service to the front of the store, which only created a bottleneck. I am sorry Kohl's I am now unable and unwilling to come search through an inventory that is always out of regular sizes, only to be subjected to what is clearly sub standard customer service! read more

I'm a mixed black man shopping with my Caucasian fiance. We get followed as soon as we come in and the entire time we're shopping (approximately an hour including checkout) I noticed both on-duty Loss Prevention employees blocking the exit when we got in line and they stayed there until we walked out the door. When we got home we tried on the new clothes we bought (changing rooms closed of course) and that's when I noticed there was a Gator tag on one of the mark Anthony shirts. I have a feeling they tried to set us up to look like thieves by leaving a Gator tag on the shirt. If the alarm goes off when we tried leaving, they'd be able to ask to search us (thinking they'd find ANYTHING stolen). But looks like their plan didn't work... And neither did their anti-thieft sensors. We didn't steal anything, Kohl's. You have nice looking things in your store but we don't get followed in Macy's so we'll probably just go there next time instead. read more

Doing Amazon returns at Kohl's is a total pain in the ass over the last several months I have had a lot of Amazon returns. Most of the issue lies with the fact that they change the return location constantly they say that there's a sign in front of the store well, there's a sign in front of just one entry door, not both and half the time the sign is pointing the wrong direction so I go to the return location waiting with all my stuff to return stand in line before Rudely someone tells me you have to go to the other side of the tour store for the return. The inconsistency is absolutely annoying. And the fact that the sign is never pointing the right direction is even more annoying. Such an easy solution to be fixed. Or just have one consistent location for Amazon returns. read more

So it's been a long time since I have been here however, I used to love the jewelry counter and the Christmas/home decor section. Well the jewelry counter is completely gone they have some but it's on the little round tables and the cheaper stuff. In the back they have four glass cabinets you can get nicer stuff from if you can get someone to help you. Jewelry has been replaced with Sephora. I don't shop Kohl's for make up I can go to Ulta or a Sephora location. This was a real bad move. Next Christmas section looks as though it's stuff left over from years past. Go to HomeGoods or Hobby Lobby. Home Decor nearly nonexistent. Men's clothing seems better women's really sucks unless your older or looking for business attire. Super sad to see how this place had declined. Hope they do something to improve as place was pretty empty for Thanksgiving Day weekend don't know if they will make it read more

Extremely disappointed in what occurred today. Kohls was doing the ultimate give away. My mother and I showed up together. In the details it states that a team member will give you a coupon upon arrival. If a team member isn't there, you need to go ask and give you one. My mother walked up to an associate named "Rick" she asked Rick how to obtain a coupon. Rick stated that she needed to shop and then at check out she will receive kohls cash. My mom tried to explain to Rick that she understands that's how regular kohls cash works but she was talking about the ultimate give away. Rick told her that she needed to wait till check out. I went up to Rick and told him this wasn't true. The entire time Rick was extremely condescending and had a rude demeanor. He finally stated "Fine I will just give you guys one." He walked over to a box and grabbed out the ultimate kohls cash. I asked Rick for one and he told me no. When I asked why he stated "only one per party" I explained to Rick that in the rules it states that it's "per household" and we don't live together. Rick stated that he wasn't going to give us one because we were together. I told Rick I could prove that I didn't live in the same house hold by showing ID. Rick did not care and refused to give me one. Instead he walked away from us while we were trying to talk to him. We were extremely thrown off by this experience and super upset about how he handled the interaction. He did not follow the rules of the store. It's very sad because it ended today and it's making me wonder if he was trying to keep them on stock for himself because he was refusing in he beginning to hand us the kohls cash give away. He was unhelpful, made us feel extremely uncomfortable, and caused us to feel as though we couldn't shop there anymore. Due to how upset he made us with the way he talked to my mom and me, as if we were less than him, we walked out. We were planning on spending money here as they have a wide selection of different types of items. We would have spent money. I have never experienced such rudeness by a Kohls employee. I am so upset I didn't get to partake in the amazing promotion that kohls was having for a limited time. Next time I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I went here looking for a couple of cardigans and they had them. I really appreciated that. The quality of the clothing was pretty good. What I liked about this place is that it had a very nice layout, compared to the one in Alameda. It didn't feel as cramped. The cashier who checked me out was very nice and actually gave me $10 Kohl's cash off of my purchase. I really appreciated that and look forward to going back there. Kohl's has improved since last I have been shopping at the store. It's been almost over a decade but I finally decided to check out Kohl's again. They have a very small display of black history items but that is OK at least they do. Everything seems to be organized and not very messy which is not true for most stores. read more

I can only speak to the men's department at this location. It is the worst place I've ever had the chore of shopping at. It is a disorganized mess with random crap mixed together and scattered all over the department. There is zero effort to put things on the right size hangars, even with a ton of women's sizes mixed in. Don't bother looking for luggage while you're there either. You'll see the sign for it, but guess what, it's more random men's wear! That's not a hard fix. I had to go a second time, after searching over an hour the day before to find the right pants, because I needed an accessory. There were two people working on sorting shoes, when I asked for help I was told by one of them "no, there aren't many people working the floor right now." Thankfully the other one stepped up and helped me find what I was looking for (he's the only good thing about that stupid store. If I knew his name I'd recommend you give him a raise). I've worked menswear in a department store. I know it's not always easy, but that store manager and whoever's in charge of men's should be ashamed of themselves. It's clear no one cares about that department, and judging by that, I'd say the store as a whole. I usually go miles out of my way to visit the other department stores instead, but when I'm in a pinch and go to Vacaville Kohls, I regret it every time. read more

Don't get me wrong, Kohl's is one of my favorite stores. However this Vacaville location is a desert of inventory. The store always appears like it is barely filled, and the selections they have are incredibly limited with sizes that are either one end of the spectrum or the other. It sucks to know that other Kohls have more selections. There is hardly anyone working in the actual store; however those that do are very friendly so that is why I am giving a one star. read more

I had ordered a kitchen aid mixer as a gift for a friend, Kohl's was the only store I could find that offered the color that they wanted. Even though I have never bought anything from Kohl's before I decided to purchase through them to get them that specific colored mixer. The box arrived, I checked the box it said "matte black" on the outside, which was correct so I wrapped it up and dropped it off at my friends house. When they finally opened it they discovered it was actually a Teal mixer that was in the box. They let me know and I was so embarrassed that i had given the incorrect gift to them. I now had to make time to drive to their house to pick it up and call to orchestrate the return. When I called customer service they said that due to the cost of the item the return had to be done in person. The closest Kohl's is about a 30 minute drive from me so it took a few weeks for me to have the time to return it. I drove to the Kohl's in Vacaville to do the return/exchange but there wasn't a matte black one in store so I would have to return it. Unfortunately the card I had used to purchase the item was stolen and they needed that card in order to process a refund. They offered me Kohl's cash but that is a lot of money for a store that I don't shop at, and I still needed to spend the money to replace the one I gave my friends as a gift. I was feeling pretty frustrated but luckily Marina R. And Taylor J. (In return department on 3/13 at ~3p) Were able to save the day and come up with a solution that I think was satisfactory for both parties. They were incredibly professional and helpful. I understand that mistakes happen, and that's ok. While it was frustrating having to dedicate so much time and effort toward rectifying Kohl's' error, in the end the problem was solved and Taylor and Marina's customer service may have made a Kohl's shopper out of me! read more

The manager of this kohls is so UNPROFESSIONAL & COWARDLY! THIS SEPHORA IS HORRIBLE! GO TO ULTA!! You'll actually be treated like a valued customer. Interviewed with them and was told i would hear back in a couple days. Did not hear anything back after a very long time so I called back a couple times and each time the manager was ducking me and avoiding me even though she was there. the interview went great and quite frankly, i'm over experienced for said job so i deserved the position. The manager, who claims to have worked here for almost two decades, is so COWARDLY she can't even tell me adult to adult if i am hired or not! How childish! She decides the best way is to ignore me and my multiple calls and dodge me completely! As a customer here you get treated like garbage and as a potential employee you get treated like garbage also! Just bring the item into the store to the help desk in on the left side of the store and show them your amazon QR code for the return. They then take it and give you a confirmation recite. read more

Today we went to use our military discount that Kohls states they honor. I bought some things online at the kiosk and used a coupon code. I bought a bunch of things for my family of 6. We meet Haley, who tells us she won't honor the 10% discount and call over her manager Robert. Robert says basically, we won't honor it if you have any other coupons. So, I ask, " Are you saying the benefit we are supposed to get, you won't honor? It's like saying my time, my service, isn't being honored as well." He replies, "I guess if that's how you wanna look at it but we won't be giving it to you even if you have always had it applied. Military doesn't get extra discount." If a regular person gets the same deals as everyone else, why even say you honor the military by giving them additional discounts? You don't. Now I see why you have less than 3 stars. read more

I was visiting my family and my sister wanted to purchase some baby clothes and some men's clothes and we shopped around and finished up. Went to the line and was cut off by a couple. Line night need to be placed somewhere else ‍ Nannet was so friendly and made the exit experience nice. At the end we got her items and laughed not only with Nennet but also with the lady waiting in line. Being nice to people can change lives!!!! Kohl's. It's like a Ross, but nicer, but nowhere nearly as nice as a Nordstrom or even a Macy's. It seems Kohl's is shooting for the same segment of the department store market that JCPenney has occupied for about 100 years now. I kept getting a $10 off coupon in the mail, so I was already contemplating giving Kohl's a shot. But then I found something that really piqued my interest. The Vacaville Kohl's has a free charging station. Yes, I drive an EV, a Nissan Leaf. With a charging station at this Kohl's, I could finally check this store out, take $10 off some purchase & charge up my car for free. It's like if a store paid for your gas to shop there, but it's better than gas. It's clean. It was a beautiful concept, but all was not well in this paradise. I arrived to find some gigantic, gas-guzzling, dinosaur-of-an-SUV parked in the EV space. A space that is clearly marked with multiple signs designating it as an EV charging space only. Apparently, illiteracy is a real problem. Luckily, the illiterate or blind or lazy or just plain dumb or all of the above SUV owner came out in a couple minutes & moved her 6000 pound pile of junk. Happily, I plugged in & went shopping. The overall shopping experience at Kohl's was unexceptional. There wasn't really any staff on the floor that I noticed. Parts of the store were moderately disheveled. The kind of stuff you'll find in a Kohl's is a lot like what you'd find in a JCPenney. Sales prices were good (comparable to Amazon) + the $10 off coupon made my purchase a real steal. Check-out was crowded (naturally because of the Holidays) but lines moved fairly well & I was through shortly. Kohl's is an OK place to go shopping for typical department store goods. An added bonus for me at this Kohl's is the availability of a free EV charging station, when some damn fool isn't parked there with her 17mpg beast. read more

I shop at this Kohl's quite often and have never been treated so rudely by an employee. It wasn't too busy and when I went to check out, he was the only person working at the checkout stand. I started putting my clothing (I spent 364.00) on the counter and all of a sudden he quit ringing up my clothes. I looked up and he was giving me the dirtiest look! He said, "I can't possible keep up with you." I said, "well, I didn't expect you to, I am just unloading my cart and I thought you'd just take the top item." He said, "What?!" I said, "Never mine, I didn't mean to make your job harder." Then he went on a rant about how hard his job is and I don't understand, blah, blah, blah. "If you were on THIS side of the plexiglass, you would get it." I have worked in retail, I never said the dude had an easy job, btw. So, when he was finished diatribing and ringing me up, I pulled up a coupon on my phone and he said in the most incredulous voice he could: "YOU, have a Kohl's card," (Yes, they are so hard to get.) Poor guy, maybe his mask was cutting off his oxygen, or he has hangry or something, but Kohl's shouldn't let people like that help customers. Maybe he could work in the back? read more

On my visit I had been researching high & low for a king mattress topper. To my surprise there was a King 3" topper on clearance valued @ $699, dropped to clearance @ $209, ideally that was a steal being 3", Barbra, came to assist me being genuine in her customer service returned even to the back being my first item was damaged. The box was clearly 10-12lbs. I also found a steal of 2 St.James? King Down feather pillows reg price $109 dropped to $22. Barbra & the Cashier were super helpful, so the best part that I now have to pay, prepping for my bill & the Mattress topper is now $69!!!!!! A savings of over $600!!! I went a little crazy ordering X-mas presents online. I was super excited when the packages finally arrived only to be left disappointed. I ordered a KitchenAid hand mixer, imagine my surprise when I opened the package and there was a drone in box. When I went to the return center the lady that helped me went above and beyond. I was able to return the drone and go out to the floor and get the hand held mixer that I originally bought. My only complaint would have to be with the shipping. I wish companies would stop using Ontrac to deliver customers orders. I purchased the mixer a couple days after Thanksgiving and Ontrac didn't update the their site until three days after it was delivered. Plus trying to get in touch with their customer service is a waste of time. When I contacted kohl's they just referred me to Ontrac's website. I wish Kohls' would give you the option to either have the items sent to the store or where we can select our preferred shipper. read more

Hadn't been to a Kohl's in a long time and just recently went to this location. Their prices are outrageous! IMO, their prices are a bit high. The home department shelves were unorganized and out of place. The worse is the shoe section; what a complete mess! I've seen better organization and stocked shoes at Walmart! Hardly any salesperson around, and if you need help, you have to flag someone from another department to flag the person from the right department. Management needs to step up their game BIG time. read more

I used to work in retail, for longer than I would have liked to, but I learned a lot and how retail places work. I went to this place to do an exchange and they were trying to charge me more than what I paid for. The girl helping me didn't even know what she was doing and so she called a supervisor who also didn't know what she was doing... I told them I used to work in retail and now I am an accountant and know for a fact they were trying to charge me more. I fought back, in a professional manner as I work in the corp. world, and in the end, I got what I came for as the customer is ALWAYS right! Never forget that everyone. If they try to tell you wrong, go to corp. I'm sure you will get what you want. Kohl's... maybe you guys should reconsider some of your staff and supervisors/managers. I'll say it again... the customer is ALWAYS right. This place will be my last resort. Maybe. I would rather shop at a thrift store than shop here. I'm usually very satisfied with the Kolhs in Vacaville. However, they seem to be a bit unorganized. Clothes on the floor, jewelry tangled up, and hats strewn about. The dressing rooms also had quite a bit of clothes piled up from past customers. And only about 2 checkout lanes open. Would've been nice to look for things quicker and more efficiently, but once my mom and I found what we were looking for, we were quite satisfied. Cute clothes, and many options! I'm really getting tired of this store. I walked out today in a huff without making my purchase. First of all, it is always a chaotic mess. Today was a bit better because it was Monday, but there were still clothes all over the place, sizes mixed up and general lack of personnel to handle everything. I always seem to have trouble finding my size in stock in very basic things like Docker's pants. There is almost always a line to check out. Hello? I want to give you people money! I know it isn't the fault of the few checkers that ARE there, but I get annoyed when I have to wait to give them money time and time again. Today was the last straw when I waited and waited only to be told that they were going from two checkers to one checker and my line was going to be closed. In other words, wait in the other line again. No thanks. Their products and prices aren't that great. read more
