This restaurant is beautiful, right in front of the ocean with spectacular views. To top that off there is a piano player playing live while you have your dinner. Our amazing dinner began with some appetizers. The most amazing was the pig tacos. These have to be the best tacos I have ever had! The pig is made to perfection. It is juicy and sweet but not too sweet. My family was fighting over the tacos! I ordered them without jocoque. You have to have them with everything else though; the onions, the salsa. They are out of this world good! The tomato salad with mozzarella mousse is also original and incredible. Yellow, green and red tomatoes with a mozzarella mouse and a delicious nut dressing that you will want to lick off the plate. Next was the prawn and soup is a must! For desert we shared the flower pot. Basically it's a flour pot full of chocolate cake and chocolate mousse on a surfboard. Very original and delicious desert! Overall great service and amazing food. We went to Cafe des Artistes in Puerto Vallarta a couple days prior and while I liked Tuna Blanca, Cafe des Artistes was better. Both had a beautiful piano inside but Tuna Blanca's location along the water made it impossible hear the music that was playing. It was such a shame. The garden decor at Cafe des Artistes was so stunning and surreal. Conceptually, sitting by the beach is nice, but it got dark and cold at Tuna Blanca. We started with the prawn & pumpkin soup, which was excellent. I love how it was served straight out of a pumpkin. We had two orders and shared it among the four of us. We also got the poblano pepper stuffed with ratatouille. We each had a small bite but one bite was enough. It didn't taste that special. For my entree, I got the broiled octopus. The preparation was great! One of my friends ordered the Argentine steak and another got the catch of the day, which was snapper. I tried both and thought the steak was good and the snapper was average. Even though we were stuffed, we were there to celebrate my friend's birthday and we ordered the "Flowerpot" dessert to share. It was served on a huge surfboard, decorated with sugar and chocolate "Happy Birthday" and macarons. It's the same as what they do at Cafe des Artistes, except on a board instead of a mirror. Given the beachfront setting, Tuna Blanca definitely felt more casual than Cafe des Artistes. Both are lovely; I just prefer the original. read more

Wow. Just wow! What a great experience we had here. I think the food probably gets a 4-4.5 star but the service was so beyond amazing this gets a 5 star for sure. We came here with my family and aunt/uncle for our pre-bday dinner. We all order drinks, appetizers, and dinner. I have recently developed a ton of allergies to really common ingredients (garlic and onion), and they were able to accommodate so well. to start we ordered the tuna appetizer, with chips/guac, and a few caprese salads. All were pretty good. I then ordered the Argentine steak dish, except I got it just plain, with salt and pepper and the vegetables. Med. rare. It was DELICIOUS! Really such a quality piece of meat. Everyone else, for the most part, enjoyed their dish (especially the catch of day--mahi mahi--dish). The service was out of this freakin' world! Our main waiter, Gabriel was on top of everything, so friendly and understanding, and just overall a pleasure to work with for the night. They waited on us hand and foot for water and everything else we needed. The bday celebrations including the drinks with the "fire pour" were just awesome! A+ from me. read more

The quick review is: food is great, and ambience is terrific. But definitely specify you'd like to be outside. I'd really like to give kudos to the overall service and the manager. We were originally seated inside, and I was unhappy. Meanwhile all our servers were attentive and terrific. Eventually the manager came and moved us outside, he even made sure our indoor server (who was awesome) stayed with our table. Everyone was awesome. Food was all good. They were missing a couple of items but our entrees (octupus, mahi mahi, short rib, lamb and the (flaming!) shrimp) were all great. We also liked the presentation on the table side Caesar (maybe a little heavy on the Dijon they mix in, but solid). Lots going on. Live music floating around, fireworks. Fun time. This place ironically only cares about your reviews.... it obviously doesn't care about your local business. Please let me explain... we are dining like most patrons and looking forward to a quiet dinner on the ocean. We know this will be the most expensive dinner out in Punta de Mita and so our expectations are higher than normal. So imagine, you are trying to eat next to a table with commercial lighting in your face and a crew of at least 8 staff, 2 actors, microphones etc.. the icing on the cake is when the crew knocks into your table and and asks if you could move back a bit. Really? The owners allowed a social media commercial to shot in the middle of dinner when "REAL" patrons were dining. What would you do? I asked to speak to a manger so I could share with them how sad I was that they let a reality show take over where real patrons were wanting to share a real experience. No one came... a bill arrived...a bill was paid...and I went home feeling very sad. No need to pay good money for fake reality...you can do that at home on the TV. Dear Managers, when a guest asks to speak to owner please do this so we can help them. As a business owner its so important to know how our customers are feeling so we can improve...hiding complaints only hurts us all. read more

By far the best meal I've had in Punta Mita, not to mention the best meal I've had in a few years. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and the food was absolutely outstanding. We ordered the fish of the day and the shrimp dish which was cooked over rocks right in front of us. Also started with a Caesar salad that was prepared table-side and was absolutely delicious. We'll be heading back again before we head back to the states. Dinner for the three of us was about $200US. If you're staying at the St Regis or Four Seasons, it's about a $10 cab ride each way. This restaurant is in Punta Mita, Mexico. Nine members of our family had dinner here on January, 6 2018. The ocean view was beautiful, the service superb, and the food excellent. One of us had Shrimp, one a steak filet, and the other seven the Mai Mai. The satisfaction with the food was unanimously five star. The Mai Mai is particularly recommended. You can sit right on the beach and the decor in here is very cute and beachy. My bf and I started with the Caesar salad, I had the lobster and he had the pepper filet. We finished with the chocolate tart. All of the desserts come out on a surfboard with gorgeous sugar sculptures. The food quality is all very good and came out perfectly prepared. The food here is exceptional, definitely one of the best meals I've ever had anywhere in Mexico. Their steaks are phenomenal and everything is cooked to perfection. The chef's tasting menu is a great experience though next time I probably wouldn't pair it with the wines, it wasn't that the pairings weren't good, the wines just weren't up to the standards for the quality of the food, they weren't horrible, but very average. The atmosphere here is exceptional, it is a modern looking restaurant with a wall that opens onto the beach for both indoor and outdoor seating on the sand. I liked sitting inside, just at the open wall best. We went here multiple times and every time the food quality was excellent each time. If you eat a little early say6- 7pm, you'll mostly have the place to yourself. This is a gem and a must go if you are staying near Punta Mita. read more

Like every restaurant we went to in Punta Mita, the service here is exceptional and the ambiance is amazing. What makes Tuna Blanca special is their gourmet spin on traditional Mexican food. To start, I had the Suckling Pig Tacos, which despite falling apart when I picked them up, were absolutely delicious. I also had the Jalapeno Martini which was to die for. Then I had the Short Rib "Birria" Style. The first bite was very salty, but once I got used to that, the dimension of flavors really came through. The corn tamale was a little too bitter for me, but the creamy corn "cloud" was spectacular. My mom got the Shrimp Temazcal which is cooked table side. I didn't try it, but she said it was great. Then for dessert we had La Maceta (The Flower Pot). This was fantastic but super rich. I could only eat about 3 bites. TL;DR: I would recommend this place. Definitely get the suckling pig tacos and the jalapeno martini. Probably skip the short ribs. read more

I had heard very positive reviews. I thought the food was ok. Nothing great and after going to Si Senor I may have ruined all other possibilities in Punta Mita. We ordered chips and guacamole which was not on the menu. This was by far the best choice. The guacamole was excellent along with homemade chips. The pig tacos were nothing special. They lacked real flavor and were somewhat of a let down. The fish of the day, Mahi, was again good not great. After reviewing the menu, I think they are trying too hard. Dishes with complex ingredients and foam. Does anyone want foam? I would rather have really good, simple, fresh and amazing food. The ambiance is nice with tons of service. I noticed they were filming a show that took away from the overall view. I wouldn't go back after going to Si Senor but I do love authentic Mexican cuisine. read more
