Two years later, this spot still slaps! One of my favorite lunch spots. I don't even like guacamole, but they make THE BEST GUACAMOLE ON THE PLANET. Bring cash because it's cash-only. Grab a seat and have a perfect little lunch. The guac is big enough for two people, but we were super hungry so we got a shrimp tostada each. It was so much food but one of the best things I have eaten in awhile. Love sitting at the front of the open air restaurant and taking in the passersby. This was our first sit down lunch in town and it was awesome. What a great selection of fancy cocktails and I had non alcoholic drink that was super. The food came out quickly and was delicious. For our main dinner we shared a Molcajete. It came with 2 shrimps, 2 octopus tentacles, 2 onions, and some meat, and of course tortillas. Enough food for 2 with all the fun appetizers. On a busy street right by the plaza. There's lots of street performers that were entertaining us throughout dinner. I got the zarandeada which was recommended by our waiter. It is their local flavored fish with some type of red sauce. It didn't have much flavor and was a small portion for the price. One friend got their lobster tacos which was also a small portion for the price. Another friend got the fried red snapper which is market price but cheaper than the fish I got and a bigger portion. Two of my other friends got the mocaljete which is a mixture of meat and seafood in a hot stone bowl. The pulpo or octopus was over cooked but the red sauce was delicious! Our waiter was ok and service was kinda slow but the entertainer/street singer was great! Prices are also higher than most places in the area so expect to pay at least 300-500 pesos per person for dinner. read more

This place was our first food stop after arriving in Sayulita! We shared a couple of tostadas, tacos, ceviche and got a limonada and pinada as well. The presentation of the food and drinks were really nice! I didn't realize that my pinada drink was more like a smoothie, so it was thick and refreshing. The Peruvian ceviche was alright to me- it was lacking flavor and didn't seem very fresh. The tacos were pretty good, but my favorite were the tostadas! Both the tuna and shrimp versions were delicious and hit the spot. I really wanted to try their aguachile since that is one of my favorite dishes and it looked appetizing when I saw it arrive at the party next to us. I guess I'll have to get it next time! read more

One of my friends was not feeling well and Carlos, our waiter, immediately jumped into action without being asked and was able to connect my friend to medical care on the spot. He even went so far as to call a taxi for my friend so that he could get to the medical center right away. He was incredibly thoughtful and helped manage a situation in the moment eliminating barriers and complications so my friend could get the medical support he needed. Our favorite restaurant In Sayulita! We were in town for three days, and stopped here twice because their food was AMAZING!! Marlin is popular amongst the Sayulita town, and we decided to give the Marlin tostadas a shot. This Marlin was served warm on a crunch tostada da paired with picked onions, avocado lime and more! All of our tostadas were fresh, and they were served with sauces to make your tostadas as spicy/ mild as you wish. The restaurant sits on the strip in front of all the flags in Sayulita, seconds away from the plazita. You get to view all the local vendors and musicians a they walk past you while you dine which really adds for an overall "Mexico" like experience! The barracuda was a very unpleasant surprise. We went there with high hopes for fresh seafood but the tuna was smelling quite nasty. We immediately returned it to the waitress. She liked it. I had a taco gobenador, which was a fried shrimp taco with cheese, that was also quite good. Their ceviche was good, but not as good s as the one we had next door at Tierra Vida. It was different though, with fish, cucumber, and carrots. My cocktail was very tropical and refreshing. I had La Dama, which had tequila and primarily guava juice. Barracuda is on one of the main streets with lots of restaurants, tourists, performers, etc., so it can get quite loud and busy. Located in the heart of Sayulita just steps away from the beach, Barracuda is offering up exactly what you'd want to eat after a long day of surfing - seafood. And they do it really, really well. Our party of 4 walked in at around 3pm looking for a late lunch and drink specials, but not expecting such bomb food. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! To start, these margaritas were made just right. Actually some of the best I had on my trip. My 3 girl friends also loved them. For food, we ordered guac to share and it was a MASSIVE portion. The 4 of us made a solid dent in it, but still had enough to take home and snack on later. Totally worth the price. For my main, I ordered 2 grilled shrimp tacos (I probably should have only ordered 1) and the Barracuda Taco with fried Marlin. The shrimp tacos were out of this world, and the Barracuda was delicious as well, although a bit burnt on the outside. I left overly full, so if you're not looking to roll out of the restaurant like I did, just go with 2 tacos. One of my friends is vegan and ordered the spring rolls, which again, came in a hefty portion. She said the flavors were spot on too. The others had the shrimp tacos as well and loved them. I picked this restaurant because it was the quietest place after my husband and I were walking around exhausted with a hungry 8 year old and a chaotic 2 year old. The non alcoholic cocktails were delicious, and the fish we had were very tasty. My husband had the whole snapper and I had the fish of the day which was a dorado. They were both well salted and spiced. My son had pasta Alfredo and they enjoyed it. The music was a bit loud so we requested it to be a little quieter, and they happily obliged. We ate here twice this week and have decided it's our overall favorite in Sayulita. Great service, super delicious and healthy food, great drinks, and probably the best people watching spot (based on our limited experience). Entertainment in the street right in front both nights we ate there. Our bill was about 75 USD and we were for about 3 hours having appetizers, trying various drinks, and eating their main meals. Im rating the food a 5 because it was really good. Hopefully it wasn't spit on it. I won't know because I won't be back. My girlfriend was born in Mexico and hardly speaks English and I'm a gringo well on my way to learning Spanish. The treatment I received felt intentional and insulting. Once we were seated, we waited at least 15 minutes for someone to take our order.since my girlfriend speaks perfect Spanish, I let her order the drinks and oysters for our appetizer and the Marlin burrito with the langosta tacos for our dinner. Planning on sharing.,We waited for at least 15 to 20 minutes after ordering our drinks and oysters and we finally received our order of oysters and drinks. 30 minutes after that we couldn't find our waiter. A new waiter arrived and we explained our issue. He told me a story how the other waiter left because another table stiffed him. I told him our service shouldn't suffer. I asked him to please just bring us our food and this time please bring me a margarita instead of the long island ice tee that I previously ordered. I felt bad because I felt he was taking the brunt for some other waiter. He then proceeded to mess up my drink order. I called him out and told him that me and my girlfriend just moved to Sayulita. We love the food at the restaurant and told him we just want to be taken care of. He asked me if he could bring me a box for my left overs. I thanked him and waited for at least 5 minutes. My girlfriend got tired of waiting so she asked another worker to provide a box. I have no problem with someone making a mistake. But when its 3 times in one sitting. I hope he enjoys the tip because sadly we won't be back. Lost trust. No sincerety or effort. And I don't even want to get into my other beliefs about the intentions we felt from the wait staff. Our biggest disappointment of the trip. I think this is a restaurant all about presentation, less about taste. We ordered a mojito and michelada to start. First off, they took like 15 mins to get to us; while the restaurant was busy it wasn't that packed. They arrived beautifully displayed - my michelada had soo many toppings on it - but neither tasted that flavorful or refreshing. (We ordered the same thing at Aloha Bar before dinner and it was much better there.) Onto the food. We started with the calamari, which was tasty! Nicely fried and the dipping sauce had good lemon zest. However, our entrees were very disappointing. My molcajete had no flavor besides charred on the grill. The sauce had barely any flavor. Tortillas were rubbery. I couldn't make more than one taco with it. Husband's mahi mahi was also disappointing. His potatoes were cold, and the mahi mahi didn't taste fresh (we are big mahi mahi eaters, having just lived on Hawaii for three months...). Overall, the service was very slow too. The waiters seemed more preoccupied with replenishing our silverware than with delivering our food. The restaurant would do well by focusing more on its flavors rather than its appearance. read more

Fresh seafood right by the beach. The clam was fresh and crunchy with all the guts removed and I ordered it plain. The oysters were briney and some were plump. The fish taco was plentiful with two good size pieces of fish. It was just ok with the batter a bit thick and soggy. Flavor wise was not as good at fish tacos in Ensenada (tacos El Fenix). I was in Sayulita in August! It was humid but I couldn't help myself and try out this restaurant! It's not fully enclosed but they have a couple of ceiling fans which help cool you down as well as the open plan. They had a cash only sign but still accepted credit card payments.
