Dr. Mansourati and Nurse Practitioner Ducharme deliver competent clinical care and demonstrate solid medical expertise. Unfortunately, the administrative operations at this practice fall substantially below acceptable standards, fundamentally compromising the patient experience. In properly managed facilities, administrative personnel facilitate care rather than impede it. Here, routine interactions prove unnecessarily burdensome, and front office demeanor frequently registers as dismissive rather than patient-centered. When individuals are navigating health challenges, administrative friction compounds their burden and represents a failure of essential service. Particularly disheartening is watching capable clinical providers have their efforts consistently undermined by operational deficiencies. Healthcare demands collaboration across all levels. When administrative conduct works against patient welfare, it negates even skilled medical work. Until substantial improvements are made, I recommend seeking care elsewhere.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

From my interactions and perspective, she is abusive and quick to remind you she doesn't "have" to fill the medication she already confirmed you needed with your treating doctor. I woke up with pain radiating down my neck, spine, and arms to a point where I still can't move my upper body. I had been in to see Connie Ducharme a few months back for the same issue (less intense at the time). I called Fairlawn primary care this morning and asked for medication (not opiates) to help with the pain while I work on getting x-rays. I get a VM from Rebecca stating that my PA sent the script to a pharmacy I haven't used in years, which I had already updated with Fairlawn at my last visit, but THEY left it in the system. I called back and proceeded to ask if it could be transferred to my local pharmacy because I am in so much pain I can't drive long distances. I can't move my neck to switch lanes or sit up for long periods of time, etc. No empathy provided. Just Rebecca taking the phone and coming down my throat full force. Rebecca took the phone from the receptionist and proceeded to yell at me. "It's not Fairlawn's problem you have multiple pharmacies on file" - my response was "it was because I updated them during my last visit." I also reminded her that my prior medications a few months ago were sent to the correct CVS, why wasn't this one? She did not have any answers to my questions. She proceeded to say to me "every time you call you have an attitude." That is bullying and took me back. Especially because the last time I was in the office, Rebecca told me to drop her name if I wanted my boyfriend to become a patient, even though Fadi wasn't accepting anymore. Why extend that olive branch to a person that's always a problem? Gaslighting as its finest. Ethics complaint will be filed with the state when I am contacted with Rebecca's remaining details. Upholding patient autonomy, beneficence, and justice means respecting a patient's right to self-determination (autonomy), acting in their best interest (beneficence), and ensuring fair, equitable treatment for all (justice). My best interest was not acted in, Rebecca's was. Bullying me and threating to withhold medication is in direct violation with Rhode Island's Healthcare Ethics.

The intent of all medical professionals should be to listen to patient concerns and rule out all possibility for the sake of reassurance. In my experience, Dr. Polly was quick to bill the simplest of exams, which provided no real substance in regard to medical advice. However, when I requested additional services for my current situation (blood work, neuro referral, etc.), she immediately shut it down as it was not her medical opinion. I even had blue cross blue shield following up regarding my service and when I explained my situation, they also saw concern for the lack of urgency or concern Dr. Polly exhibited. I am not dismissing Dr. Polly's diagnosis, because it could very well be accurate; however, her professionalism and the will to listen to her patients is my concern. My wife had also called expressing her concerns, and she was told her call would be returned; however, it was not despite her follow up call to see if the office may have forgotten. This is not the physician I would want for my loved ones, especially those that do not typically advocate for themselves.

Getting appointments with the practice has been notably smooth throughout my time with them; the staff is willing to work with you based on your needs and clinician availability. I've also enjoyed seeing a few of the other practice members (eg Benitez, Berg, Rodriguez), each of whom is thorough, knowledgeable, and helpful. The use of the Healow medical app as a portal, and their fully integrated connectivity to electronic medical record systems, has given me peace of mind that all my instances of care are suitably connected in one place. It's also convenient to be able to head downstairs for a quick and easy blood draw when required - and again, clear results are available in the app shortly thereafter. I've also noticed the patient set is younger than it used to be - not just geriatrics anymore. As important as anything above, Dr Ruggieri is friendly and engaged during visits, as the rest of the staff I've dealt with are also. I definitely have a "medical home" at Wayland Medical.

Another thing I love about her: she runs a really tight ship, and keeps appointments open so regular patients can usually call for day-of appointments or be seen within 24-hours, which is awesome. She won't give you a prescription unless you really need it, either. She's careful with over-prescribing, which is kind of unusual in this day and age. All in all, I highly recommend Dr Smith.

She can handle any general practitioner issues as well as gynecological screenings. If you are looking for a FaceTime appointment with an automated script machine-type practice, keep looking.....these are not your people! I am so glad to have found a great personal physician right between work and home! She greets me like I'm an old friend she hasn't seen and remembers everyone in my life and always asks about them. I never feel rushed with her, she always wants to hear, even if I'm complaining, explaining, or simply conversing about non- medical issues. And she remembers the conversations the next time I come and asks about them. I have never had a doctor like this before. I imagine this is how doctors used to be in the olden days. Granted, her old office with Dr. Deluca was cramped and scheduling was pretty terrible and I'm not sure why that was. Going to that office always had me disgruntled, but in the end, I couldn't give up on my doctor. I'm glad I didn't. She moved to a new location with her brother (also a doctor) and I have not witnessed any scheduling issues since. My advice Dr. Van? Don't change. You're perfect!
