He took it as directed and the toes got worse. We went back today. We were there for 3 hours. The women taking our information was very kind. She was shocked that we only waited for 3 hours, it's usually 5 hours since they cut down to one provider. The doctor looked at his two toes and said he needed to see a podiatrist immediately. She gave him 2 types of antibiotics and an anti fungal and that he needed to start them immediately. My son starting panicking because of how serious it was. She was sending the scipt to the CVS pharmacy at Target. I explained to her that they were already closed, to please send it to the CVS on Warren Ave in East Providence because they are open 24 hours. I went to pick up the scripts for him since it was already 9p, I waited that long because CVS never informed him that the scripts were ready. When I picked them up, there were only 2 scripts, of course the most important one had not been sent in. So now I have to waste more time getting this straightened out. Never again, complete waste of our time.

I walked in and asked if they were open, someone then came out and greeted me. Good thing is they have free parking right in front of the building which is very convenient. The staff that checked me in did not seem very friendly nor customer focused....I really felt like a Number....not a patient needing care. The actual CAT SCAN was quick and easy.

I spent 11 days at RIH this month across two admissions…read more The Urgent Care center thought I had a collapsed lung and sent me via ambulance to the ER. I was examined quickly and it was discovered that I actually had a couple of blood clots in my lungs and infarction. I was admitted and put on Heparin. I got to be in the women's medical unit and got my own room. The nurses were all so kind and attentive, answered my questions and helped me stay relaxed and the CNAs were supportive. The clots caused me to get Pnuemonia - and I added a couple days to my stay. It should have been a scary time (PEs can kill people) but I felt the entire time like I was where I needed to be and it was all under control. I did try to be a star patient but still, the care was excellent. I also felt like nutrition was great - Manny was trying hard to find me something I'd eat when I had absolutely no appetite. Even housekeeping was friendly whenever they came in my room. I ended up getting readmitted when I spiked a fever five days after my first discharge and ended up with sepsis. When I got to the ER I explained my doctor sent me back due to high WBC and tachycardia and they took me right in, put me under sepsis protocol and made me a priority, I felt worse than I did with the PEs and Pneumonia but with fluids and more meds I began to feel so much better so quickly. And again - felt so well cared for by the nurses and doctors. This time I was on co-op 4 for a few days. I know everyone's experience is different. And the patients the nurses and doctors see have varying needs - I tried to not be too needy - I was comfortable enough and getting my meds and tried to focus on doing what I could to improve my recovery time. But seriously - two things that could have killed me and I felt less stressed than I have all year.

Just a terrible experience…read more I basically had to harass them to get them to process my insurance. Finally, almost A MONTH later, they call and say I was only approved for a home lab. They made me drive there at night, then again very early in the morning to bring it back with very little wiggle room, even though I was having issues that made it difficult for me to get up and going in the morning (the reason for the sleep lab in the first place). When I went to pick up the device, the lab technician was very nice and set everything up for me, but she almost sent me off with a unit with a dead battery! While she was out of the room, I felt the bed in there out of curiosity DEAR GOD I could NEVER sleep there in that bed! So uncomfortable. I was glad to be taking home the test after that. So I dropped the test off the next morning to some lady that ran outside to meet me, seemingly in a rush. It was kind of strange. It took almost a month to get my results. Do yourself a favor and find another sleep lab.

Suite C, 2nd Floor Miriam Hospital The Fain Building…read more First of all,this is a teaching facility for student doctors doing their residency and as such, you need to really keep an eye on everything surrounding your care, your medical history, your medication history, be sure to read all of the doctor's notes after your visits to make sure everything is correct because more often than not these doctors in training make things up that have no bearing on your life or condition. I have caught them listing false information in my medical history alleging that I suffer from mental health issues that my psychiatrist never diagnosed me to have and she should know being a trained specialist in her field. They add information on their notes that doesn't apply to you and mention medications that you are not taking which prove one thing ... they are not listening to patients and writing falsified information on your permanent records and when you ask them to correct it, they tell you that you have to go to the records department and request modification of those notes which takes months because as I was told by the Manager of the records department, there are thousands of patients with the wrong information in their files ... a class action lawsuit should be filed against this hospital to force them to do things correctly. I recently (July 7, 2023) had an appointment with Dr Chirag Mehta at Suite C, I met with him for two reasons, my blood work results for my Cholesterol/Triglycerides were elevated an cause concern with Type 2 Diabetes. I asked about being put on Ozempic, I wasn't. Here's the concerning part, Mehta's notes mentioned mental health issues that I have had years ago and am no longer being treated for, he listed a medication that I haven't been on in over 5 years, and he wrote about things that weren't even discussed in the office, I recorded the entire conversation. I wrote an email to Christine Duffy, the head doctor who's license runs and covers all doctors working in this section of Miriam Hospital. I explained my concerns about what he put in his notes and that none of it applies to me, she referred me to contact the records department to remove the wrong information. I mentioned to her and gave her the information needed to give her access to my medical records and test results. I explained that I am type 2 Diabetes and that I asked Mehta to put me on Ozempic. Christine Duffy contacted Chirag Mehta who examined me on July 7th, this is what he told her ... Mehta told Christine Duffy that I don't qualify to be on Ozempic because I am not currently taking a Statin for my cholesterol and triglycerides. I told Christine Duffy that I am and have been taking Atorvastatin 40mg for the last 6 months and that Atorvastatin is a High Intensity Statin and is listed in my current medications in my records. Duffy is telling me to discuss this with Mehta and I told her that I will be consulting with an attorney to file a lawsuit against Suite C, her and Mehta for failure to properly care for me,failure to provide proper treatment and other issues. Please be advised that the people who are in charge of Suite C and who work under the direction of Christine Duffy are putting your health and lives in jeopardy, I have all the evidence needed to back this up. Do yourself a favor, check your records, all doctor's notes and make sure that you are being given the correct medication so that they don't cause your life to be shortened by their careless behavior.

You can expect long waits for appointments, and lack of call backs concerning test results. You can NOT call your DR. directly. You have to go through an answering service that doesn't work very well. Getting a referral is like pulling teeth. Many times you will not be able to see an MD. They like to put you with a nurse practitioner or a physicians assistant (PA). Obviously it costs them less to do that.

As we walked in, there was a nice receptionist ready to help and within a few minutes, my husband went it. It took a bit longer than expected for the proceduere, but once he was ready, I got a call on my cellphone to park along the front curb and pick him up. He came out with a full report with pictures and instructions. Very professional, very efficient.
