He made himself available for any questions and gave me multiple options to choose from. When I arrived, he took the time to go over everything again and provided a quote for my wife's vehicle as well. At that point, it was just a matter of deciding which service I wanted. I ended up going with ceramic tint since that's what I'm used to. He quoted about 2.5-3 hours, which was completely reasonable. I arrived a bit early due to scheduling with my wife picking up the kids. While I waited outside, Chris came out, offered me a chair, and welcomed me inside even though they don't really have a formal waiting area. That level of consideration didn't go unnoticed. I chose not to stay inside long because I didn't want anyone to feel rushed, which can sometimes happen when customers are waiting closely. Once the truck was finished, I was extremely impressed. The tint came out flawless. Chris also gave honest advice about the windshield--I initially wanted 5%, but he recommended around 70% to maintain visibility while still getting heat rejection. I followed his recommendation, and it was absolutely the right call. The quality difference compared to my previous shop is very noticeable. I've inspected the tint closely and haven't found a single bubble. On top of that, he offers a lifetime warranty, which gives me even more confidence in their work. However, this consultation took about an hour, and by 11:00 AM, our vehicle had still not been started, despite having a set appointment. We were told the job would take approximately 2-3 hours due to the windshield tint, so we left and expected a call once the work was complete. Unfortunately, we did not receive any updates throughout the day. By 4:00 PM, after finishing work, we returned to the shop only to find that our car had still not been worked on. At around 4:15 PM, it was clear the vehicle hadn't even been started, and the installers were just returning from a break. We were then told there had been an "issue" with the windshield and that it would take "about another hour." Ultimately, we didn't receive our car until around 7:00 PM -- nearly nine hours after our scheduled appointment time. While the staff remained courteous throughout, the overall experience was very disappointing. The primary concerns were the lack of communication and inaccurate time estimates. If there had been delays, we would have appreciated proactive updates rather than having to return and discover the situation ourselves. Additionally, the pricing was not particularly discounted compared to other shops, which made the experience feel even less justified. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Polar Tint. At first we went with Polar Tint but during the appointment we realized they gave us a quote for the lower heat rejection material so we left. When getting window tint, always ask for IR or heat rejection percentage. Affordable Window Tinting used ceramic that has 88+% heat rejection (not 3M but comparable) and for 5 windows we paid $300 which was a great price. FYI if you have a Subaru the front mini window counts as a window (we misunderstood at first and thought we could get the back windows too). We got 50% for the windshield and 35% for the front side windows. They have a heat demo you can try in-store so you can feel the difference. Installation took 3 hours (one bad thing is that the waiting area smells heavily of cigarette smoke) so we got lunch and walked around nearby (but it's not the best neighborhood). There were bubbles in the film but like the guy said, they went away in a few days when it cured. Happy with the results!
