No one at Dicks was knowledgeable and it was very self serve. So, we got the wrong size and now out $150! Our Football coach told us not to waste time going back and to only go to TURF SPORTING GOODS!!! I called ahead and the call was so great. "Bring your son and we will get him professionally fitted." That was the kind of care we needed so our son was safe!! We walked in and met the nicest and most welcoming person. He cares about the kids and recommended the best equipment for our son and surprisingly, it wasn't the most expensive. Based on our son's body structure, his recommendation was a specific brand and style that matched his position. My son and I were looking for baseball pants. The girl there was assisting another customer and so is the older man. So we waited for like about 5 minutes. When the old man was done assisting his "white clients", we immediately approach him because we were in a hurry. The old man looked at me then my son up and down with like a smirk on his face. Or "disgust" is a better word. Was it because we are Asians? I'm Chinese. And there's a lot of Chinese people in this area. Then he told my son to wait for the other girl staff that was still assisting the other client. Needless to say, I'm never going back here. We went out with no baseball pants. I decided to call and this super nice guy named Skylar answered my call, after checking to see if the items I was looking for were in stock (they weren't) he offered to order them, he also said it would only be a 1 week turn around. I was so happy to hear this! After calling him back a few times to double check colors with my daughters coach and such and thanks to Skylars patience we got the pants ordered. Store is a little unorganized and beat down. Alot of their football pads were older models and some aren't even made anymore. Just so dirty and unwelcoming. We got a football package there. The guy seems to be owner was helpful when it came to safety but man was he a impatient jerk when it came to my kid being in pain trying on new equipment for a new sport. He is playing football and the guy was just impatient in hitting his helmet, chinstrap etc. My son later told me he was scared of the guy. My husband did tell the women at the counter the guy was a jerk. She was nice. We needed more equipment so we decided to go to Sporting Co in Henderson and I wish we had went there the first time. I needed custom tshirts for a sports camp. Turf was able to design our shirts in house and turn them around in a week. They were able to make the shirts in Youth and Adult sizes, which we needed, and is sometimes a lot harder to find than you would think. I have visited this store twice in the last six months and each time I was VERY impressed with the level of customer service this business provides. As soon as My sons and I walked in we were greeted with a warm welcome and immediately asked what we could be helped with. 4 months ago I purchased a helmet for my oldest son, they fitted him properly, but unfortunately within a couple months my son said it was a little tight. I went to get the pads inside changed and was able to get that fixed up and fitted right away! Walked in with my all-star daughter and folks at the counter didn't even greet us - despite the entrance being near the counter and three people sitting there doing nothing. Went there tonight to ask about purchasing custom uniforms for my kids basketball team. I was on the phone with the owner of the league I coach in trying to get all the details situated, and relay any information directly to him as I got it. The man behind the counter proceeded to scream at me that cell phones were not permitted in his store, and that I was to get the f*** out of his store! I was appaled at the level of un-professionalism. As a business owner, I feel that there is a way to ask nicely if you would like your CUSTOMER to not use their phone in your place of business. I told him that I would definitely not be purchasing my uniforms from his store now, and he told me to get the f*** out. There were other people in the store at the time, and we all looked very uncomfortably at each other, and I left. I would reccomend that you don't use this place if you own a cell phone. The sales clerk may scream obscenities at you, and besides, they apparently dont need money from consumers who own cell phones. read more

Great experience with Turf Sporting Goods to get my daughter's varsity letterman jacket. Carolyn was very nice and patient with us and had good recommendations for colors, patch placement, etc. She was particularly helpful in the sizing of the jacket. To top it off, although we were told it could be 6 weeks or so before the jacket would be ready, Carolyn called for us to pick up the jacket within 4 weeks. Do not go to them they do NOT keep their word. I went to them in Aug 2016 to order our sons Letterman jacket which they told me it will be done in 6 weeks We paid for it all right there at the time of order 6 weeks came and on that day they told me they needed another 6 weeks because they had a problem with their fax machine Well I gave them the benefit of doubt and waited another 6 weeks At the end of that 6 weeks on that day they told me they made the jacket with the wrong colors they needed another 6 weeks to fix the problem and they will give us a 15% discount Well needless to say I believe them after that 6 weeks they finally told me they can't do the jacket and gave me back my money in January 2017. Bottom line you can't trust them to tell you the truth. NO STARS THEY DONT Deserve any the only reason why they got a star was because Yelp will not let me post without one star. read more
